One of my faves, so bittersweet. It means the concert is over, but it's a celebration with us, the fans, the Clique. They actually get us involved all thru the show. We're the 3rd essential band members , according to Josh and Tyler. Not to worry, you're part of the Clique now, too! And there will be a tour starting this fall! New album drops on May 17th (9 yrs to the day Blurryface came out). It's the wrap up to this Dema storyline. New single dropped on 2/29. It's 🔥! This is it! So, welcome to the Clique, my frens!! ❤|-/💛🔥🧡🔥
crazy that tyler wrote this song as a teenager, before he had even started the band, so it's very cool they still end every show with it and that the crowd responds so well it always feels like a celebration! Tyler said he wrote this song about a time he went out alone into the woods to try to find 'truth' and yelled out 'prove something to me, that i'm not nuts!'. I love the fact that they don't say who he was speaking to or whether he feels like he got an answer because it leaves it open to fans to take their own meaning from it.
I immediately connected Vignette with Trees when the album came out for this reason. Must've been pretty life changing to have written two amazing songs about the same night/event.
It is the fans holding them up. (Though security is there) My daughter was one of those that held up Josh during one concert. I asked her if it was hard to do. She said that there are so many fans holding him up, it was easy.
This was fun; I've never seen this particular concert version of this song. My personal favorite is the Fox Theater performance of Trees (it includes a bit more of a speech explaining why they close with Trees and a bit better video quality of Tyler/Josh), but this one was definitely cool to see too.
I have held up Josh in one show and Tyler at another. There was a crew member on the stage side of the board, and each time the crew spoke to me and the other bigger guys up front, telling us they were relying on his to help out. I think I have a video on my channel if you want to see a close up view.
