Twenty Years of High Strangeness in Ontario--Fan Illustrated

This video is about a user submission I received a couple of years ago. It is about a young man's strange experiences in Ontario, that began with one summer, but turned into twenty years of strangeness, with each aspect less explainable than the next.
This video is illustrated by a fan of the channel named Adrian Flores, while Fred finishes up a gigantic project that I think you will all really like, and potentially, has been uploaded since the time I'm typing this. :)
Thank you.

Regarding deer bones/skulls in unusual places. When someone is shed hunting, (walking the woods looking for antlers that deer shed off yearly), it's common to come across dead deer or "dead heads" in the woods. Often times these are does or yearling bucks too small or damaged to keep. It's become common practice amongst shed hunters to place these skulls up at eye level in trees or arraged in such a way that it looks man made. It's done for the same reason hikers stack rocks on a trail. It says "someones already been here" and it assures you dont hunt the same stretch of woods twice, (which is easy to do). I have been doing this for years along with hundreds of others, in the most remote parts of the forrest as we can access. I often wonder how many times people unfamilier with the hobby come across these and link it to the paranormal. I hope this helps.

glad there was a commenter who finally had something useful to contribute, rather that the same praising drivel over and over again. If I may offer up something, regarding the "suspicious" earth movers, as someone who comes from generations of construction workers, when you're clearing land for roads and building pads, you can't just knock over trees and start paving. You have to get every last root out of the ground, because when it eventually decomposes, the gas will cause concrete to crack. So you do a lot of digging and hauling away. Then you have to bring in fresh dirt that has nothing in it (hopefully) to fill in and replace everything you got rid of. Its a slow, repetitive process.

Hey, thank you for the information. I have no intention to go into the deep forest, but then again, I’ve been many places I had no intentions on going, so if I ever see this, at least I’ll know what it is.
@Larss86
@Larss86 2 года назад
I figured it was something along those lines since the action, while looking very weird, could have been pretty easily explained by someone who spent long periods of time in the woods, just didn’t know it would be that specifically. Thanks for the info I did not know of this before you said anything. If I’m ever on a hike in the woods and I see something like that I’ll think of this instead of thinking whatever predator killed a random deer had a particularly odd sense of decor.

I have seen your comment above and wanted to add that the Airbase and surrounding region (at least on the maps provided) look very close to the Airbase next to Trenton and are probably either inspiered by or meant to be that place (44°07'32.50" N 77°30'35.50" W should be the coordinates between the Airbase and the "mysterious fenced off land" if you want to look yourself) that land now has a residential area or some trailer park on it, or so it seems according to the google earth pictures from 2015. Doesn't look that mysterious to me.

Thank you. I'm not sure if the author provided that map, or if he just described it and the illustrator did his best. Either way, the author says he's from Ontario. Is there a Trenton there?

@ausprinzip2881 2 года назад
@@Viking_Luchador Yes, the City of Trenton is in the south of Ontario, about 150km east of Toronto. The general features of the map fit perfectly to the area, although it seems some little things (like the gas station or the little bridge) have been changed since 2013 or Bob has altered them himself so that the location of this comperatively strange story stays doubtfull to the public.

Adrian Flores did a *great job* on the art, and I say that as an ex-free-lancer for Dark Horse Comics. As a retired illustrator I know the techniques he was using and how hard they are to master, but boy, he did a *fine* job. The composition was top-notch, and the judgement-calls for hard-blacks/medium-greys/light greys were, too. His rendering is delightful. Please, Bob, pass these compliments along to him. I'm an amateur artist myself who draws exclusively in black and white. I've noticed there are artists like me, and apparently Adrian, who draw slowly, methodically, and strive to make every detail as accurate as we can. We will not consider a drawing complete until we get it as technically perfect as we can make it. Then you have other artists that are like speed artists. They look at a scene, pick up a pencil and sketch it out at the speed of light like it's a Guinness book of world records contest. They can do a drawing in 5 minutes. I guess it's two different techniques and two different kinds of talent. Some of us just take longer than others:)

My sister has a great Dane, mastifff cross. She looks like a cross between a wolf and scooby doo. She has enormous paws and she has the "sad look" like a mastiff. Sounds like Superwolf was once a domestic dog who went feral but remained relatively tame and friendly. I almost wish OP had approached him but at the same time I don't blame him for not approaching an unknown, massive dog even if he did feel a connection.

@@audreymuzingo933 A point I have considered myself also. She has shaggy hair, long and quite soft. My best guess for why, is that one of her parents also had alsatian in there genetics, as I would liken her fur most to that of a German Shepard or an Alsatian. She's also one of the least aggressive dogs I've ever known, she is very gentle, very good with kids (especially really young kids), she's loyal and she is very protective. Not bad with other dogs, but nervous around ones she doesn't know and her best friend is a small black cat named Bandit who like to sleep on the black patch on her back where he all but disappears. Overall an odd but beautiful dog.

This is kind of unsettling. I've watched your channel consistently over the years, but this is the first time I can relate to one of your videos. I had two sightings unsettlingly similar to two things the subject of this video described. I live in Brazil, and have never been nowhere near the US. But I've seen that same "floating ball of light". When I was around 11, I was with a friend's family visiting their cabin in the woods. I never liked the outdoors, but it was a change of scenery at least. When night fell, everyone got inside for an early dinner and bedtime. I was just outside the cabin's door, looking into the woods, kind of scared but just because I was a young city boy. Then, I saw it. It looked like a ball of fire. Not because it flickered or anything, but because it was orange, it looked like fire, but completely spherical, like a half meter wide ball of pure fire. I am not a good judge of distance (I have some eye issued that make it hard to perceive depth correctly), but it couldn't be farther than 100m away. I could see the trees it illuminated. It was just suspended in the air, no one was holding it. I would see a sillhouete. It wandered around the trees, floating just above the ground. I got and unsettling feeling and rushed inside. When my friends mother inquire me as to why I looked so pale, I told her what I saw. She asked me to show it to her, then we went back outside, but the thing was gone. She looked disappointed, but not because she didn't believe me, but because she didn't get to see it herself. Back inside she told me what I saw was a Mãe-do-Ouro (roughly translated to Mother-of-Gold). You can find some pages describing it as a popular folklore myth in Brazil. It is a kind of spirit that watches over gold veins. The folklore on it is kind of mixed, some say it has good intentions, some say it is some kind of evil spirit luring greedy people to their doom. I have no idea what it actuslly is, I only know what I saw. And it was strange as fuck. My other sighting is just like the UFOs he woke up his girlfriend to see, but i was a lone light, not a swarm. I was around 21, this was in 2013, probably. I was outside a friend's apartment building, with some friend, chichatting on the side walk. Suddenly two of them became silent and focused their eyes on something just above me, with their mouths open. I looked back up, to see what they wrre staring at, and I saw a light, slowly moving inside the clouds. It was as the person in the video described: we couldn't see a beam of light pointed upwards, it looked like the source of the light was inside of above the clouds. We also couldn't hear a sound, but it looked to be close enough that ig it was a helicopter or plane we would hear the roar of the engines. We stared at it while it drifted slowly into a straight line, until it went behind the building and we couldn't see it anymore. When I looked back at my friends one of them asked if I saw it. I said I did, he said "good, 'cause you are the only one here sober, and I was starting to worry I drank too much". We laughed it off, talked about it for a bit, but just kind of forgot about it over the years. I also saw one just like it durinf a particularly dark road strip during a trip with a friend, but it was too quick to be as memorable. I feel kind of vindicated knowing that someone in another part of the world saw things similar to what I've seen, and it kind of relieves me. Thank you for this video. (Tell the artist he is VERY talented!)

Had one land 100m from my house where it melted several large trees like candles over a fireplace overnight. I had been gardening in that exact spot only a few hours before (I garden at night because it's cooler). There was signs of an intense downdraft in a very confined area, that had broken branches and overturned fern leaves. I had heard about melted trees from UFO sightings in the US (I'm in New Zealand) so I asked the neighbour if he had seen anything, as we both overlooked the gully where it happened. He said at around 3 am he had heard the roar of what sounded like a heavy lift cargo plane taking off vertically, but couldn't see a thing. He said this without any coaching or clues from me about what I was thinking. I also met a security guard who reported a car sized submarine that went under their dinghy in the harbor, and a fisherman who saw one land below his house and little men go out and wandered around the ship for 15 minutes, around 1967. Other than that I've had about 9 sightings of my own, some were exact copies of what I've seen captured overseas, including Australia, in regards to one that traveled across the night sky like a Pondskimmer across a pond's surface traveling at unimaginable speeds. My friend also had an encounter hunting very similar to the one Gimlin recounts, with his friend being non plussed, they lost time and their top end watches both stopped at the same time. I've read similar in many abduction accounts. They're out there man.

Thank you for sharing. I have seen smaller lights pop in and out through our walls at night. Three others have seen them, as well. They are multi-colored and last for a second or two, then disappear. Some are traveling so quickly, you see a blur of light behind them as they move through the air for a second or two. Because of previous occurrences right before they showed up, I think they are related to spiritual things. (We had started to meet every night at the end of the day to pray for the world when they showed up.) But I do think some of these lights could be some kind of tech, as well. Especially the larger ones seen in the skies. We do see military helicopters out here often. They are doing some electronic warfare training out here, from what we've been told. We are also in a kind of electronic "hole" where our calls on cell phones are often dropped. I don't know if it's related, because we do live in a forest. They--lights, can also be holographic. What I've been told about some of them, from a spiritual perspective, is they are angelic beings traveling into our dimension. Being beings of light, they travel in these bubbles. But I can't find anything on that, except for mention of "angelic lights" on a few new age channels. I'm not into that or crystals, or anything from that world, though. So I can't explain it from that perspective. I would appreciate hearing if anyone else has info or experiences that might help explain the phenomenon. These aren't like the orbs that show up in digital photo's. They are actual lights. Like you said--light inside a bubble of some kind. Some white, some other colors at times. Maybe the world is just stranger than it used to be. But I also think there is something out there that just likes to mess with us. Like it's entertaining for them, or something. But that's just my own thoughts. Hopefully, by sharing, we will eventually figure these things out. They probably occur more often than we realize. I will say there are strange sightings up here in the mountains at times. Skookum is a common name used on roads, creeks, etc., in this area. So, I think Native Americans experienced many of these things before we ever got here. They may know best what they really are.

The art for this episode was great. I firmly believe any sort of channel releasing this sort of content should work with multiple artists to avoid the potential channel ending issues that can arise from a single partnership. Using multiple artists not only allows for more content to be released more consistently, but more importantly it helps to guard from a complete production shut down if something unforeseen occurs. People get sick, accidents happen, people need vacations/time off, creatives can get burned out easily, and a whole host of other issues that can be at least partially avoided by working with multiple artists. There is also the fact that the channel is blessed with access to not one, but two, amazing artists that are both willing and infinitely able to bring your narration to life in a fantastic way that c just oozes personality and character. Take this utter embarrassment of riches and run with it while you can. Churn out as much content as you can while working with the both of them in order to grow both your catalog and viewership. I'm looking forward to seeing what the both of them can do, as well as the mystery project!

I take just a small bit of pride in my decently large vocabulary and command of the English language. Seldom do I come across a word in English that I don't know, enough so that I've always been the guy people ask first about definition and spelling before consulting Google or a dictionary. That being said, thanks to your comment, that vocabulary expanded by 1 word today with "euphonious". Which in 35yrs I'd never come across till today. So thank you, kind internet rando! 🙂

I've never met Superwolf, but I already love him. He deserves to have his story out there. somewhat related to the deer head story, I found an elk head once, just sitting all alone in the snow. It kind of creeped me out, even though I've found tons of dead elk and deer in various levels of decay/consumption. Maybe it's because it was only the head, but I've found others that didn't creep me out at all because I know coyotes like to drag them around. It's the only one that ever felt off to me.

That's weird. I had an odd experience too. My first job as a security guard was just after I got out of the military, at a college in a bedroom community outside a major metro area. As the new person, of course I got the graveyard shift, LOL. Good job, as I got to audit all the courses related to law enforcement. Anyway, it was very late (or early, LOL) around 2 am, and I was checking doors on the second level (exterior) of a building that connected to the one next door by a covered breezeway. As I got to the top of the steps and turned right, I saw a large liver laying in the middle of the veranda, and it seemed very fresh--steaming slightly. There was just a little blood under it, but otherwise not much blood. I say large--it was not big enough to be a cow liver, looked more appropriate to human size. I grew up on a farm, so I know how large cow livers are. I had not seen or heard anything out of the ordinary other than the liver, but it sure spooked me out for the rest of the shift. Just seemed very odd to see something like that in a suburban area.

@@reefsroost696 TBH, BeetleBun's story--and the one in this video--is also pretty weird. An elk has a pretty large head, and it seems unlikely that a predator would bother to drag a head any distance from a kill, only to place it neatly and leave--that's a lot of effort to go to with no nutritional pay-off. IDK, we don't have many wolves where I live, no experience, but we do have coyotes, which are not even as large as many domestic dogs. An elk head is a lot of weight to bother with, it seems to me. But I'm no expert on coyotes or wolves.

@@Doxymeister For me, it’d depend on a few factors: Was there any amount of neck or vertebrae attached to the elk’s head? Did it have any antlers? Was it still fully fleshed, partially consumed or decayed, or just the skull itself? Could it be identified if the point of severance was jagged & rough or more clean & even? How fresh did it look? Did they notice or look for any tracks, disturbances, or evidence either on the ground or up higher in the immediate environment around the head? Etc. I wonder if a bear might bother carrying the head of an elk kill off to another location if it was disturbed by something else & would’ve been convenient for it to do so… Or if, perhaps, a human may have had possession of it after harvesting & dividing it up to pack it out, only to come into a situation where they thought it advantageous to abandon the elk’s head rather suddenly (eg. being stalked or approached by a potentially dangerous predator such as a mountain lion, bear, wolves, Sasquatch, etc).

Figured I should share my brief little encounter as well; During the winter of 2018 I went to let my dog out at some dreary hour of the night. I openned the door and let her do her thing. After about 10 minutes she wasn’t back and I grew concerned. I walked out in the snow and called her name. I then heard her distinct bark and and saw her running back with another dog following her. At first I thought it was our neighbors German shepherd, but then I saw a second dog in close pursuit. I wasn’t scared, but I was taken aback. We have a pool in our backyard surrounded by a meter tall chain link fence. These dogs easily stood taller than the fence Which might be on par for a wolf’s height, certainly larger than our neighbors dog. I’m 5’2’’ and felt like if I had gotten closer I could look these things in the eye standing up straight. They stopped shortly after they saw me, paused momentarily, just long enough for my tiny little dog to bark at them one last time then disappeared into the woods. They didn’t seem hostile or aggressive towards me our my dog. They were inquisitive, atleast I think so. Like those videos online you see of a golden retriever with a kitten. Only much larger. Anyways that’s my story. I also live in Ontario Canada, not terribly far from Toronto or the Great Lakes. But not terribly wild either. Of course, your voice and writing lull the viewer/listener into a relaxed state, open to new ideas. Can't say I buy the Sasquatch stuff, but I'm committed to always keeping an open mind. Your arguments usually have pretty strong logical analysis, minus the whole unfalsifiable statements which are also part of my pet theories concerning UFO's. I too am from southern Ontario. Guelph to be exact. I have encountered high strangeness. My friend and i saw a huge craft up close. It was about 100 ft away. 100 ft in the air and about 200 ft long. It was massive. It appeared typically saucer shaped but it was early evening and from my angle it was hard to tell for sure. Could have been wedge shaped. It had 3 - 4 non flashing white lights along its side. It made absolutely no sound. It seemed to be hovering but was actually moving incredibly slow. We watched it dumbfounded for a full few minutes until it eventually passed behind a building. We ran as fast as we could to the other end of the building to see it again but it was already miles away . Just a point of light in the distance. Years later my girlfriend told me she saw an alien being. looking at her through the sliding doors in our bedroom. She was in bed and made eye contact with it. She said she was paralyzed with fear. She put the covers over her head and wouldn't look out again. . In the same house the sliding doors led to the back yard where ther was an inground pool. One year when i was opening the pool i found some very strange substance in the skimmer basket. It was a whitish pink slimy, mucous- y rubbery shapeless blob that i could only describe as seeming like some kind of alien substance.

This story reminds me of several things. 1: I used to see Footprints of a mountain lion around my house that were about as large as my splayed out hand. I don't know if I ever saw it but I definitely saw animals that it had taken down (deer and sheep) and I did see vaguely feline shape skulking through the woods once while I was going for a walk at night but I don't know if that was her or not. 2: My parents saw UFO out in the New Mexico desert. I was with them but I was a baby and too young to remember. I do have a Campfire story called "the first time I got drunk" that starts out normal then unexpectedly turns into an alien abduction story but that one is pure fiction and I always make that clear to everyone after I tell the story I would never make something up then pass it off as a real. 3: this is more of a confession. I love skeletons and one of the things that I used to do as a kid was collect rocks and animal bones then proceeded to arrange them in cool ways out in the woods. While I was listening to this I realized that if anyone ran across these, it might scare the hell out of them. (that was never my intention)

Looking back it seems foolish that I ignored these lights but at the time I didn't think much of them. 🎶 out through back door of roses I ran, out where the horses were tied, I caught a good one it looked like it could run I Saddle Up and Away I did ride, just as fast as I could from the west Texas town of El Paso out through the Badlands of New Mexico🎶 And through the drunken blur I see the lights again closer this time and yet still I ignore them. 🎶 it's been so long since I've seen the young Maiden my love is stronger than my fear of death, I Saddle Up and Away I did go, riding alone in the dark, maybe tomorrow a bullet may find me tonight nothing's worse than...🎶 the lights are blinding now and I hear the blast of trumpets accompanied by this horrible metallic Screech, and... I.. felt something... hit me.. I blacked out after that. When I awoke I was immobilized on a table and there were these tall faceless beings in white that had cut me open. I couldn't move, I couldn't scream I couldn't ask them questions. They murmured in muffled voices and one of them mimicked the voice of a woman, a cruel trick, a deception to keep compliant no doubt. Look up at the sky, I don't know what they are, I don't know who they are, I don't know what they want and I don't know what they wanted with me but they are out there. It's something that I can't remember, something I can't forget. It haunts my dreams and keeps me from sleeping. This this has knod at my sanity ever since and it always will.

Much like this person I had an experience near some woods with a white light hoovering low to the ground. My friends barely reacted to it also like this person says in the story. Weird af but comforting to know someone else experienced the same exact thing.

Your candidness on this subject is incredibly admirable. I absolutely love stories like this, particularly those told from personal experience. And let me tell you: speaking so openly on these sorts of experiences greatly destigmatizes it for other people who've shared in similar experiences.

The thing that makes these stories so plausible, aside from BG's (with aid from illustrations) excellent delivery, is the sum of all of the little details. When all of the pieces fall together, the final product is so amazing. Love it!

I am absolutely in love with this artwork. Even the way he illustrated the aerial perspective of the area with the trailer park and the air base was fun to look at. Cheers. edit: a question for any artists who might be reading my comment: what type of markers do you think was used to make the pieces? Alcohol based? The blending and the gray tones are so pleasing to look at.

This artist is wonderful, and I immediately fell in love with Super Wolf hugging the storyteller, and the brief glimpse of a possible other world history dealing with the octopus eye alien.

Thank you for sharing this. And that is great art work as well. With the world seemingly losing it's mind, stories of the weird, the fringe, strange, odd, unsual and scary are kind or reassuring, especially from Bob Gymlan. We missed you bro!

Ok, love Adrian's work. He's got serious skills for a "not a professional". So, I watch this whole litany of strangeness in Ontario, and it's a lot to take in. I think the writer might be some sort of "conduit" of some kind; that he is a focal point for the strangeness. The fact he wasn't affected by the mental sedation that his friends and gf seemed to be affected by is interesting. I also have a kinda out there theory for all of this. Fairies. I know it sounds stupid, but we have strange lights, strange sounds, a mysterious animal, a ghost, people acting strangely, and feelings of being compelled to interact with the mysterious lights and animal. I know it's unscientific, but if you told this story to someone in Ireland a couple hundred years ago, they'd be like "What ye got there are the fair folk, boyo!"

Bob, I want to thank you sir...not only for a steady drip-feed of the kind of content I need to stay sane during the endless midnight oil burning sessions in my workshop...but also for keeping something alive that is incredibly important to me (and should be far more important to many of the knot-heads that inhabit this planet). Storytelling is an integral part of our heritage and our identity as human beings. It's something that our ancestors did with great reverence and with a skill that has been lost amongst the likes of our kind in today's day and age. You sir however, are truly a master of the art and I am truly grateful that I was fortunate enough to stumble across your channel. Thank you so much for all the top tier content and for all of your hard work to bring said content to us all. A humble tip of my hat to your illustrators as well, their work complements your stories wonderfully. Keep up the good work and cheers!
