Hello~ Thank you for the questions. It's a long topic so sorry for the long reply. There have been a few official remixes in the past (Chi Chi, Anda, JJCC, Tiny-G) even some printed on the official CDs. Also there have been several official remixes that we worked on and didn't get a release here. We often encourage our fanbase to simply message, tweet and bother the companies so they contact us first as simply knocking doors (e-mail/call) without any previous networking does not work in Korea. All our previous official remixes and more started like that. There are a few reasons why official remixes though are not the most immediate priority, that attractive or in either case such a great achievement for us anymore. 1) Firstly, the thing with the official remixes is that there is usually no creative freedom and most of the times we just find our selves working a parallel watered down pop version trying to satisfy a company's curiosity of "how else" their song would sound if they have hired a different arranger, rather than creating an actually full pumping club style remix like the ones we usually do. We have to keep sending versions back and fourth and the great majority of the decisions are about making the song more pop than the version we offer - which leads back to the great original anyways and the question of why not make an original song to begin with which leads to the second reason. 2) The companies are like, if you are going to make a new instrumental for our song why don't you just make us an original song instead? And that's something we've been working on instead with some successful releases in KPOP and recently for some major releases in CPOP that unlike remixes actually bring in some income as well. 3) Third, we are currently working with our own or other independent artists on original productions. We develop them, make their music, songs, record them, design, film and edit their MVs and so on. There were a few releases from us this year. We also worked on the filming crews for MVs from FANXYCHILD/MILIC, KILLAGRAMZ, MICRODOT and other works such as commercials for Korean companies, banks etc. When we get the chance to approach an entertainment company for networking, remixes is the last thing we would present to them, as then we would push ourselves down to that level and seen as simply "DJs" or worst. It's like you are going into a Ferrari cars retail shop and ask to buy milk. Generally there are bigger fish to fry than remixes and only one pan. 4) Remixes in Korea are generally an unpaid job. It means, except the views and perhaps an introduction message from the idol, there is nothing immediate and practical to be earned from us. Despite that, we have made good offers to smaller companies about remixing their song for free and even filming extra content like interviews, dance versions or brand new MVs - then the conversation naturally goes to "why don't we just make a brand new song then?". Ultimately, many companies simply don't care or see potential in remixes. We are so busy developing our own ideas and things and generally working at a completely different level that eventually official remixes lost their importance and prestige for us. That doesn't mean we are not after them, actually there are a couple under production right now order from a smaller company but as explained above, they most probably going to end as original songs rather than released as remixes here. About the Heart Shaker remix, unfortunately having access to content such as vocals or promo versions doesn't make the remix official. The specific and written permission from the company's CEO does. If we ever had an opportunity to work with JYP, remixes wouldn't be the priority. In fact, we are part of a songwriting team under a company that regularly pitches songs to JYP among others (of course the competition is huge). So it's much more likely to see one of our original songs somewhere in Twice's or GOT7's album or our filming crew in one of their MVs rather than an official remix :)

As a long time areia fan, I can answer these:) 1. yes, Jun (main guy who runs this channel and company) has worked with kpop companies on official remixes and tracks, and filming mvs in the past (most notably trophy entertainment, look in channel playlists for official productions and originals), and likely will continue to do so. Getting an in at top companies can be quite hard, though, and he is primarily focusing on working with his own artists signed to his company. See Liah's All In MV on this channel for an example of that:) 2. If you can see the listing for the Heart Shaker remix, it's 'Areia kpop fusion' which indicates that it's just the song mixed with original music by the arrangers- so areia probably does not have access to the instrumental or vocal track to make a full remix. However Jun and the other arrangers for areia are very skilled and can work very, very fast ;) but also they work very hard for us on remixes despite also needing to focus on their own original composition and production, and make no money on these remixes since they're using copyrighted material, so please support them!

Oh wow, didn't expect to see such an in-depth response, it actually makes a lot more sense now, and I didn't know you did so much behind-the-scenes work, so it is actually understandable. I also understand why the companies would want you to create well produced original and accessible content instead of remixes for already established songs/concepts/music videos. In regards to " unfortunately having access to content such as vocals or promo versions doesn't make the remix official." Does that mean you still get the pure vocal and/or instrumentals? If so how do you get access to them? I know a few albums feature an instrumental version, and even less have the vocal track.
