2019-2020 was hard for the group . In 2019 three of them did have a hard time, Sana became partially inactive in social media and unusually silent every group appearance after knetz bombarded her with mean comments (even death threats) for posting on instagram using her native language, Mina on the other hand started developing anxiety during or maybe after the tour she started thinking that what she has already done was not enough for all the love and support that the group is getting. Despite all that she still participated on the feel special then had her hiatus after that album, Jihyo, I don't know exactly the reason but she also had anxiety that year but she chose to stay because she's still thinking about the fans and the group. Forward to 2020 during more & more Mina returned as her promise to the fans to do an ot9 promotion, Momo did get a lot of hate during this era because of one encore stage and people claimed that she can't sing or her voice is bad. Jeongyeon had a neck injury the whole time they prepared for both more & more and i can't stop me. After all the preparation for the album she decided to take a break for three months and came back in 2021 but unfortunately she then again returned to her hiatus after participating in the Taste of Love album. The Twice transition is one of the best and most successful ones I've seen in Kpop ever. Very few groups can pull off a complete 180, but Twice gradually changed, a smooth transition. As a Once who has known Twice since their pre debut days on Sixteen (the survival program), the show was a clear indicator that they had the duality and talent to be able to pull off any concept they wanted. JYP himself doubted they'd be able to, but Twice worked hard and managed to. They're also one of the very few groups you see actually improve and grow vocally, musically and dance wise.They broke free from their "image" I would say, musically successfully. But many k netizens didn't like the change, saying they should have stuck with cute concepts, and that hate is why Twice isn't as popular as they once were. I'm not saying they're not well known, they have legendary titles, Twice is a strong group that no longer needs to prove themselves, like EXO. But if you ask the new Kpop fans who they prefer, they're going to say the girl crush groups, cause that's the trend right now. Twice has one of the best, if not THE best, discographies in Kpop (in my humble opinion). And the fact that they contribute to writing their lyrics is 🤌🏼 I feel bad for the people who will never hear Twice simply because it's "not their taste", they've got no idea how much they're missing out on. And I'm so excited for all the people that give them a chance. I guarantee that the majority of your Kpop playlists are going to be filled with Twice once you dive into the b-sides. There's a reason why we Once are so proud and adamant about our girls 😂
I'm so glad that when Twice decided to start doing more mature songs, they didn't go with girl crush concepts. In my opinion, that concept has been done to death.
I'm assuming what people meant by "part 2" is that in the MV for "Dance The Night Away", Dahyun, Mina and Nayeon go into a cave and in "More & More" the same trio come out of what seems like a cave.
It was somehow funny to think of, even TWICE themselves made fun of this.. Saying that NaMiDa entered the cave in DTNA way back in 2017 then just came out in More & More in year 2020.. 🤣 But yeah, there were some theories.. More & More, I Can't Stop Me & Cry For Me were theorized to be a trilogy..
I have never be able to not tear up everytime i hear "Feel Special" is such a powerful song for ONCEs, it give us the chance to connect with the girls is such a meaninful way
And the fact that Twice has put out soooo much music since these videos (85 songs including Nayeon’s album); that I forget that these 3 albums were 3-4 years ago! 116 songs total and counting since 2019! LET ME SAY THAT AGAIN…116 SONGS SINCE 2019!!! And I’m still probably missing a few! LOL…and we still have the rest of 2023 to go; with a solo album; a subunit album; and 2 group albums still to come!
Fancy has been my all time favorite song since they released it!! I'm still listening to it so much more than other songs released it!! It is kpop perfection!! 2019 was a turning point for TWICE!! After peaking with their cute concept in 2018(What is love is still considered one of the best cute concept in the industry!!) they changed things with Fancy, Breakthrough and Feel Special...Their bsides also developed so much!! They were good before, but since Fancy You you can see the quality exploding! Can't wait to see your reactions to the next albums
fancy is one of my fav title... feel special has a special spot in my heart, 2019 was such a hard year for Twice... there are many onces that don't like More & More idk why... the dance break is ICONIC they changed it for this tour they are having right now (i believe once forever will post if jype do a blu ray with the concert in the japanese stadiums) I Can't Stop Me made me go crazy, it was released 6am here in Brazil. Ahh yes "Feel Special" era when i 1st time into kpop ever but before i was curious and checking out about Mina and Chaeyoung ship cos they both melt my heart ( i was a kpop hater or super not into kpop back then ), i discovered TWICE and i love Them instantly also Mina became my 1st ever bias in kpop, she's on hiatus because of anxiety disorder ( she is introverted ) I'm also introvert so i kinda know what she feels,, so Feel Special is a very special song at least for me 😭😭
My bias is Mina, and I have to say that even though she participated in the MV for "Feel Special" and appeared in the album photos, she took a mental health hiatus and was out of the promotions and performances for eight months. And the one who sang her parts was Chaeyoung ❤ It was tense for us ONCES. Now she's fine
Intial reaction when I saw the title: "Are you sure you want all 4 in 1 go?" 🤪 Fancy I think is the Korean turning point. But I think how they did the transition in their Japanese releases is more clear cut with Happy Happy followed by Breakthrough. I Can't Stop Me - Mina is very dangerous, especially in their gray denim outfit and her purple ash hair for one of their music show appearances. Momo really shined in the More and More dance break. Alot happened that time. Nice to watch Twice: Seize the Light episodes for added context
These mvs bring back so many great (and funny) memories! I remember how Onces did a collective gasp when FANCY debuted; because we had never seen Twice like that before! LOL…I remember Momo (with no bangs) literally crashing the internet the day FEEL SPECIAL came out! Then Sana and Momo knocking us out and stealing our hearts when MORE & MORE was released; and I CANT STOP ME just taking away what breath we still had left!
Felt like the lyrics and meaning of Feel Special went over your head. Song is so meaningful for Twice and Once, especially because Mina was on hiatus at that time
From Fancy era (2019) onwards (including their Japanese tracks in line with this SK tracks) TWICE simply proves to everybody that they are versatile enough to step away from their usual Bubblegum pop era (in which they had no competition and mastered) and can do any type of genre and be mature enough to embody it and still retaining the Twice flavour they are known for. 🥰
Fancy & fell special is transition in MV but music is verry diferent but i realy like.. MoM and ICSM is trilogi with CRY FOR ME they eat apple in MoM and became have duality in ICSM cry for me don't have MV BTW you must satisfied with coreografy video but Cry For me is another level.. also their B-side gonabe going Crazy Good from Fancy you..
Actually Fancy wasn't that song;) cause song is still cute, they tease little with outfits, but still cute side of Twice. Feels special - is breaking point ;) and after that song they became produce from them a more mature songs
