I really think Jeongyeon's voice is perfect for this song so honestly, I'm a little disappointed by her lack of lines but then the whole MV looks good and the choreography is addictive. 💚
TWICE have shared that the individual scenes are their own versions of being SET FREE! Now I really wanna know the interpretation for all! Nayeon - escaping the pressure of walls closing in and choosing to walk her own path Jeongyeon - breaking free from pressure of constantly being watched Momo - taking control by being behind the camera Sana - breaking free from the pressure of beauty standards Mina - feeling trapped and being able to be free to speak for her own Jihyo - breaking free from societal standards of how she must look and act as an idol Dahyun - being confident and walking through the chaos Chaeyoung - painting a different picture and literally flying away Tzuyu - burning the strings thats binding her on keeping a certain idol image These are beautiful and reminds me so much of some of their other title track songs like Perfect World, Fake and True and especially Feel Special who have personal meanings for each member!
in my opinion the choreo is fighting ICSM for the top 1 spot of their best choreography of all time and they've had crazy iconic dances over the years.
The coreo is soooooo good, the girls did amazing on jimmy falons show and I would recomend seeing the performance. There is just something really satisfying about the dance. Also I agree, I think the song does a really good job at showing off their vocals
Having just watched the mv, my guess for your reaction is "Ooh, that Funk bass line" but also "I'm still a little tired of disco-strings and disco sounds"
Always, bside >> title tracks. But anyway, still love our girls. ❤ But i think soon or later they will comeback again in the summer. Maybe another “Alcohol free” will be release right 😊😊
I feel like the concept was kinda wasted on the song. Imagine a more experimental sound with those visuals😩. Anyway like you said the song is objectively a bop (I like it way more than basic arse “the feels”) but its overkill. It will get a fee more listens from me because of the vocals and the prechorus melody.
in my own personal opinion I think twices music is getting less and less creative throughout the eras. Idk the songs don't make me excited. The song is nowhere near bad but it doesn't have any interesting factors in my opinion tbh (I have a similar opinion on their latest songs too)
