I think they do know more English than they appear. Some times I've seen a really quick reaction to an English statement that would not come from a total beginner.
i agree! i think that if they feel like they can confidently get their point across in english, they will speak in english. but if they don’t feel like they can say it without sounding too silly, they will speak in korean. that way they always seem well spoken! they are really smart, and their english has gotten so much better the last few years it’s crazy! they must’ve practiced a lot.

@@xtiantubeI noticed the Japanese crew tend to have more of a Japanese accent when speaking other languages outside of Korean and Japanese. It's kinda funny how that works. Momo said once that she used to be almost fluent in English but lost it because of training for Twice.
TWICE not having an English native speaking member is so cuuute. But Mina's accent yo, she is good!! Also Nayeon and Jihyo. I love that they are all trying and learning. They are so adorable. ♥
@GleeChan Not surprising hearing Momo say on a livestream with Nayeon once that she, in school, got really good in English, but when she got accepted at JYP and was training she lost her English ability. I think that's true with most languages.
@@zaynes5094 Maybe just in writing. That's how it is for most East Asian students. They study study study for taking exams, but they hardly use spoken English at all.
I’m so grateful that their English pronunciation on singing is so good, they always try their best and work so hard in English song even 9 of them are not native speaker. If you listen to I WANT YOU BACK, their first ever full English song, then listen to I GOT YOU, you will find out they improve so much, they work so hard 🥹 there is no limit of TWICE ❤

they all sound like they have practiced a lot! their english is much better than my korean haha. jihyo especially works really hard to make sure she pronounces everything right! and she’s really good with differentiating her r’s and her l’s. it’s really impressive as a non native english speaker! and she’s really just gotten good in the last 5 years so she must’ve practiced a lot. ❤️
@@jaithber007Sometimes in lives when they're just chilling at home, Nayeon will try to get Momo to say something in English or Japanese so she can learn Japanese and so Momo can keep practicing at English. Momo said she used to be almost fluent but lost it when she went into training for Twice.
they have all improved a lot, especially in the last few years. and they are doing promotions in the US again right now so i’m sure we’ll get more english speaking twice content soon :)
Jihyo is the one really trying to get good (girl IS the leader) Jeongyeon's head is already full of 'Momoring' 😂 Mina is too perfectionist to speak it a lot, while Chaeyoung does try. Dahyun is the one to google 'American slang words that are cool' 😂 She's a born entertainer

@@xtiantube I can't find the video but it was an official promotion and they were all just counting to something and Dahyun said 4 (I think, could've been another number). Anyway she said it so perfectly it sounded like it came from a native English speaker . I thought I was crazy for thinking that until I read the comments and other people were pointing it out too lol

I don't think giving context would make a difference, it's Twice, context or no context, Korean, English or Japanese, they end up talking nonsense either way 😂😂
I find it hilarious that none of them are (objectively speaking) very good at English, yet every once in a while they manage to pull off the most convincing native accent ever. Especially Mina 😂😂
