Jihyo shines with her adlibs and power belts :) They sometimes have her doing weird things in the studio to fit TWICE's concept, but if you check out their live performances where she has more freedom with style you can tell that she's been a strong vocalist since the start. Her and Jeongyeon were the best live singers during debut.
24:59 For me the break, makes the vocal hit that much harder when it came back in so i personally like it. I also kinda miss all these "wierder" song structure in Kpop cause now its a little bit more predictable and formulaic with the Verse-PreChorus-Chorus-Verse-Chorus-Bridge-Chorus. Thanks for the reaction and have a good day
Actually, Nayeon's voice represent Twice songs, while Jeongyeon mostly given the last chorus to vary the sound and Jihyo mostly the one who adjusted depends on what kind of song they gonna released. This three have different sounds that contrast each other and the backbone of Twice vocals. If you would listen to their albums from the beginning till now, Jihyo's tone became matured and she's able to control it more. And that's why she's the best singer in Twice till now
Greetings! And thank you for this TWICE video!! :) I still listen to this album regularly to this day, as I still really much enjoy the music of this debut album. Have a great day!
u should watch sixteen jihyo had amazing vocals since pre debut and even used as a secret weapon against chaeyoung who everyone was scared of in the competition. this album didnt let her shine as much
What I love about them is their diversity on genre. Twice early album is more accoustic, youthful, bright to match their fresh and 'teenish' vibe, And as they grown up, their song matured and now here we are with more 'adultish' concept.. Keep the Twice journey Pat, i'll wait for more content XD
Nice reaction again Pat! The interestingly structured song is what we call experimental songs & it was one of the strongest criteria/charm of the real (original) kpop sound; Nowadays kpop is more influenced by western sound because they are trying to appeal to a wider international audience, but if u hear the old kpop u will find a lot of the experimental sound or not mainstream/common music sound ; Twice was brave, so talented, unique but so KPOP from debut! (&their concept&songs were age appropriate&true to the real them (something that can somtimes lack in today kpop). All these bsides have a live performances; if u see them perform back then u wont believe that they are rookies too.
Actually some of these songs are their pre-debut songs JYP produced during their competition show 'sixteen'. Please check out Sixteen when you're ready 😅
The "weird structure" is one of Twice's defining sounds. As I recall, they had them in multiple albums. You could call it, classic Twice. I miss it tbh. Twice had become so western sounding at some point, so I still play their old albums when I want to feel the old energy again, as weird as it were.
Hey there path… I’m glad you found it infesting… I agree, now as most new onces you would normally go form the lates songs to the first, so not only they have mature over the years, but their sound has evolved. So it make absolutely sense your conclusion. I myself I’m relatively new as I heard them my first time around the fancy era. So when i went back to their previous it was “interesting” in a good way of. But as time went by it all grew up on me. Again, the really don’t have bad songs. Anyways thx for the reaction, you never disappoint. Just fyi: there is a concert performance of “Do it again” highly recommend you react to it, it’s hilarious in the cutest way posible.
I missed hearing “Do It Again”. But it also makes me sad as it reminds me that it has been a while since our last time to twice episode (cause it’s the intro song to that show)
Twice b-sides are definitely more playful than title tracks in terms of structure in my opinion but I think that's what makes them so addicting. There isn't a Twice song that I hate and I'm happy that you listened to their first album because you can see their growth and hard work through the years!
when you said Do It Again sounded like a live version, I was reminded that they indeed sounded exactly like the recording when they performed it live and with full choreography (almost all the songs in this EP)👌
Yesterday i see your reaction ( between 1&2 album ) for the first time I loved your reaction ❤ keep react too twice yaaa Can wait to see you react TT, WHAT IS LOVE soon
Like a Fool has made me love them to the core. I give credit to my cousin for introducing me to them n now all I do is listen to them everyday. To me Like a Fool is the best song that have been sung throughout the human history. Now I'm a Once who appreciate whatever Twice does n I will continue to support them however I can.
loved your reaction. page two is similar in my opinion, i guess because it’s the album that came right after this one but the songs on there are so interesting to me
Totally valid reaction, I think the story begins needed some time for me as well because of the production, but over time i did really come to like it and it's somewhat nostalgic for me. Live stages would DEFINITELY make some of them make more sense, but in general I think these are just the kinda songs that sneak up on you at some point in the day and you just suddenly get it LMAO. Anyways, looking forward to more, I think you'll really enjoy them as you keep listening to their discography ♥
Have to disagree with you, Pat. Jihyo has been the steady powerful voice providing the high notes and adlibs over the years. It is Nayeon who has changed over the years. I think since after What Is Love? era, she has been doing some adlibs and high notes. Before this era, only Jihyo and Jeongyeon did high notes, mostly Jihyo. Once her voice got stronger, she has gotten more lines and has passed up Jihyo in total lines since debut.
@@shshshshdf Sorry, I'm not musically trained. All I can tell you is I can pick each person's voice out in Twice's title tracks most of the time except Tzuyu. It's usually a process of elimination. A longer line allows me time to figure it out. B-sides are a little trickier. Outside of Nayeon and Jihyo, each singers' amount of lines and tonality can vary from song to song.
recently, got a chance to appreciate 'going crazy' more. 'truth' & 'like a fool' are my fav. since the beginning. (2020 when i start checking TWICE's songs.) fun story, because 'like a fool', i buy myself a harmonica even i can't play it, still can't, 'like a fool', right? :D have a good day. :)
Hi Pat, gotta watch the live performance of Like A Fool, maybe if you want to watch it on your own time or here with us it's up to you bro it's fine really
this is my opinion too be honest the two album the story begins and page two is the time that jihyo strugles as the lead vocals and nayeon take that place..and now you know what happens with jihyo she got many lines, she saaaangg ,she screams, she takes the high notes, shes like the soul of twice vocal line
No wonder she get the first album. Well pat the company favors her so bad, actually it’s one of the worst favors example in kpop, your still new, but unfortunately we are in this bullshit for years, even the fans from other fandom know how bad it’s. you will learn soon that in twice cases Nayeon first/ takes everything then the rest which is ridiculous, but that’s how it’s with these weird producer’s team. We are completely the opposite of you, always wondering why the heck they always give her everything and mistreat others?!
