This is an early morning hike in the northwest area outside of Yellowstone National Park. I can normally see a lot of wildlife but did not spot any grizzly bears on this hike. We (me and a friend Kasey) did see a lot of grizzly bear digs; some fresh.

Thanks for taking us on the trail again, Stan. Your friend Kasey must be thinking about the punchline of the old bear joke: "I just need to be able to outrun you!!". Your SX70 sure hasn't lost its "reach". Your artworks are outstanding.

Never too soon to teach the younger generation respect and conservation of Mother Nature's gifts.

Thank you Stan, I am always happy when a new video from you pops up. You are the only hiker who takes us into the middle of the wilderness as though you are not there. That comes of course with big chances you take running into dangerous wildlife.by being as soundless as possible. I know you take chances when you approach chest-high underbrush; anything can be lying in there...I of course am thinking grizzly. Today was a rarity...you were not alone. :) I hope you consider leaving some of your wildlife art to the Smithsonian. There are many artists popping up and the world is never short of any art desired, but there are very few outstanding wildlife artists. They still inspire awe and no photography can take its place. I tried to figure out why that is and even if I was right about that, but at the end I realized that is how it is. People get immense pleasure looking at the hand-drawn eyes for instance of a wolf or bear. Perhaps it is the intimate relationship between the artist and the animal. With true wildlife it has to be imagined by the artist that comes from getting to know the animals in their habitat. Why was Rockwell so famous? Many artists painted people. But Rockwell did one thing different! He did not imagine scenarios for the people he wanted to paint. . He traveled and painted people in their own environments as he found them. It showed! His paintings are a true-life moment of real people's lives. Wildlife paintings are the same. Except the models are not exactly easy to come across and not many artists cherish the thought of getting eaten by their own models. All of us who subscribe to Stan know he is an artist who does just that and all his beautiful art shows a moment of the artist's and the model's real life....not imagined! No middleman! Long comment? ( Some may call it babbling instead. ) Yes... and I hope I didn't bore too many of you but not all thoughts can be handled in one or two sentences.

The map is back! My husband & I enjoy exploring Northwest WY & the Big Horns when we can get away from KY. A big thank you for leaving the park cleaner than you found it. As always, thanks for sharing.

Super cool! Amazing wildlife. I also find a good amount of balloons in the Washington Cascades. People don’t realize that when they let go of the balloon, it eventually comes back down. Thank you for picking them up!

If you look closely at 2:27 you can see the black dot on the upper part of the tail. So it looks like a coyote.

I thought Wapati was closer to the east gate of Y stone..the map you pointed to at the beginning was North of Y Stone. Wapati is between Cody and The East Gate..its my happy place! We used to hike and fish that area all the time when we lived there.I hate Florida where I live now.

I enjoy your videos, thumbs up to leaving the park cleaner than you found it. 👍🏻👍🏻 There is no telling how far that balloon travelled before dropping where you found it, those darn things are everywhere.

I've had a similar owl in my backyard a few days this winter. Must be difficult for them to find mice.

Good video. This Fall, I have seen a lot more Bears than last year. I am not sure if making noise works. Happy Trails.

Glenn, I have not been seeing any bears. This year has been my worst year ever. I have only seen 17 backcountry bears (not highway bears) this year. That is way below my average. Where have you been seeing them.
