Assault Cannon talks about 3 non-Fighter ships. The Alastor makes ground forces participate in combat as if they were ships. By sending the Alastor with 2 or more ground forces to a combat it triggers Assault cannon, and counts as a unite destoyed in that combat, aka an extra Technology for you (A).
I have played this game three times and have played Nekro Virus all three times. They are awesome. It is not my goal to win, it is my goal to make sure no other faction wins.
Corrections: You said get lightwave deflector if you have an asteroid field nearby. I think you meant antimass. You implied you can use the hero to take a home system or metacol. You can't, the only target is a planet with a tech skip. Notably the hero says gain a technology, so you don't require the prequisites. Other that, great video. I can see steady improvement and throughly enjoy them. ^
Great video. I really enjoyed the analysis on how best to play and how their abilities synergise together. Looking forward to when you do Arborec and Barony, my two favourites of the base game.
I love Space Cats Peace Turtles but they've been so busy with Root I've been trying to find a good channel talking about POK. Great video I know it takes forever just to make one video on a single faction so try not to burn yourself out with everyone asking to cover their favorite faction. Really enjoyed it 👍
I really slept on nekro. Valefar X and Y is one of my favorite mechanics in games. Stealing other players abilities to use for yourself opens the door to several different outcomes of playstyle and strategies that always gives you new experiences.
Ideas for fighting the Nekro. Go for powerful fleets to counter them as best as you can. Set up a PDS grid to make it more difficult for them to progress. Be aggressive in your defense.
Necro is my favorite faction that I’ve never played 😂😂😂. A game group really only gets this to the table a couple times a year and I just don’t want to steamroll them. They don’t live in breathe TI like I do. Fun fact, and I don’t know if I’m the worlds biggest nerd for doing this, but I did a solo three hand play through the other day with Arborec and they are incredible with PoK
I made the mistake of trading my antivirus for the jol-nar technology promissory not and had to goad the jol-nar player into activating a system I had units in to start taking advantage of their tech surplus.
The way I understand the hero's text, it only kills the ground units on the surface, not the ships in space. It makes sense to me since the hero devours the planet itself.
30:26 I could be wrong, because I'm pretty new, but you kept saying that their ability is already a leadership ability. I THINK you are misunderstanding their faction abilities. GAINING a tech from singularity does not count as RESEARCHING a tech for Propagation. You can't research tech multiple times per round, only when tech is played. Propogation just makes it so the Technology Strategy card isn't COMPLELY useless to you.
Thanks so much for this video im gonna play this fraction this weekend. You said when you play 7 you pay 6 resources and get 6 command tokens, im not following? it says on the fraction 3
If you take tech, you get 3 tokens for the first effect. The second effect of the tech card is to pay 6 for another research, so 3 more tokens. 6 tokens for 6 resources.
@@syeblaize thanks i founded that playing 1 was better because than you spend influence witch you dont need. Unfortunately i didnt win with only 1 point to go. But really good game with this fraction totally out of mine comfortzone
@@CardboardCrashCourse Hence why the Alastor makes the Nekro mechs into arguably the most powerful dreadnoughts in the game - if you have valefar assimilators on your opponent, they hit on 4s in space, sustain damage and then hit on 4s on the ground once they're there, they don't count against fleet tokens, and they only cost 2 to produce. A Nekro fleet of Alastor with carriers, mechs and infantry is a nearly unstoppable invasion force, at a discount.
You said you can get multipl technology out of one combat. But that isnt true because the ability says 1 technology per combat. And the combat isnt fully resolved if the ships are just continue fighting right?
A few questions about the valefar assimilators, can the valefar only be applied to the technology *card* specifically or can it also be applied to the base tech? For example could i put the token on the muaat's prototype war sun 1 or sol's spec ops 1? Or do i have to use it on the upgraded version? If it is possible to put it on the base version, what about when they upgrade it? Does the token remain on the base version, get carried over to the upgraded version or get discarded? And what if that player somehow loses the tech like with the divert funds action card or the jol nar hero's ability?
Polymorphic Algorithm could instantly end the Winnu's and the Arborec's game as their home worlds have technology speacialities. You can get to their system and then pop this off in your next turn, they are done with probably very little ability to come back from this. The Winnu could at least get victory points from Mecatol Rex if they have it and have Imperial but that would be difficult.
