The Vampire Diaries production crew really had a long process of picking the best actors and actresses that will be portraying the roles/characters in TVD and I think they really did pick the best of them all. And I think The Vampire Diaries (Novel) was published way before Twilight so there is no way TVD copied Twilight.

The cast of twilight just looks fake, their characters are weak they have no personality! And the story line is awful and last TVD is halfway believable. And Damon and Elena's chemistry just crushes it.

can't really compare them, TVD is a 8 season long running tv series with 171 episodes of 40 some long episodes while twilight only have around five 2 hour long movies, it's different. you can see the characters a lot more in tvd than in twilight and the plot can change more and more in the 8 years of tvd than in the 5 movies.

Well, do you really think that there can be a comparison between Twilight and TVD? I am a vampire story addicted, but I never could follow Twilight in its entirety because the scenes I saw were terribly stupid and useless. The Vampire Diaries hands down won. It has logic, something other vampire shows and movies don't have. It has such logic that you can make theories out of the parts which are not the clear to understand. Like when Bella got pregnant with a vampire's baby, that did not make sense at all but when Caroline got pregnant with a human child it made sense, as the geminai coven protected their future by putting the twins into a creature which has more chances of living then a human body. And here is a theory I made: Vampires need human blood to complete the transition because the OG vampires drank human blood after the ritual.
