rigged down in millable lengths. this tree's only crime was being born. short sighted people built their house right next to it. when it's growth lifted the foundation they had it removed.
footage from day one. back spar shown rigged to ~50ft (rigged more but not shown), front spar down to ~115ft

Question So I know in the beginning with rings. 3 rings were to be used for your termination rigging point. Then you were able to use 2 XL rings for the proper bend radius. Noticed a lot of guys using a single ring. To the best of your knowledge, what is the latest. Can a single ring be used?

in tree work we go with a 4:1 bend radius (ex: 1/2 rope should go around a 2" bend). any tighter and the outer fibers see more of the load, weakening the rope. but (if you're using proper hardware) there is no tighter bend than the knot you're making (unless you're using splices) so if you're using a running bowline that is your weakest link, not a single ring. personally, for the most part, i do a single small ring for 1/2" rope. 2 small or one large for 5/8" rope. also one large for 3/4" until the load/ force get near the WLL/ MBS, then i will upgrade to 2 large rings. i also use splices and shackle on my 5/8" and 3/4" ropes cuz i don't want the strength reduction of a knot.

this one was pretty straight forward. just using a ring where one might use a block. crank/ lift wood from the neighbor spar into the rigging point. negative the wood in it on the spar it's on, rinse and repeat, many many times...

Awesome work here bro. Your editing prowess is totally outrageous. I read what you said about double blocking and your 5/8 is not quite long enough, I have a 250' that I've only needed once fully. It gets expensive having 400 and 500 foot ropes just sitting around. Thank you, James Rescue.

How much did the heaviest piece weigh that was negative rigged? What size line was used?

approximately 2,500lbs. using Notch's 5/8" which has a WLL of 1,850lbs. i have a splice on there with a shackle so there isn't the massive strength loss due to a knot but i was still pushing the limits with that. I couldn't really upgrade to my 3/4" at that point because it wasn't long enough. I should have double blocked it but my 5/8" wasn't quite long enough for that.

the ropes and slings have known MBS/ WLL values to work with. the tree/ stem does not. i know how much weight/ force my rigging can take. how much can your trees/ stems take?
