Moose in the neighborhoods are familiar with people, dogs, cars, etc and will walk away if they don't want to be around but don't generally run away unless they are spooked. This family was in our yard over 12 hours and was quite comfortable with the sounds of summer and children playing. They are wonderful animals and it was a very special day to see them so active. Thanks for the post.
I got jump scared by one yesterday and she was so close when she started to move away from me then I finally realized this majestic animal was standing feet from me. Scared the crap out of me but I bet she had a good laugh watching me jump!
This was so sweet to watch. It was as if the first baby was trying to convince the mom how fun it was and then the mom allowed the second one to come out and play and then she finally stood there just enjoying the moment with her babies.
Typical children, can't resist the lure of a sprinkler on a summer day! :-) (And that was a nifty soccer move that first baby did with the ball, too!) This is absolutely precious. Thank you for sharing this adorable visit from your lovely wild friends with us!
Animals are the best thing to ever happen to this planet. I can only imagine how amazing it must be to live in a place where moose, deer, bears and other wildlife are respected and adapted to living with human beings. Beautiful video, beautiful song and I also think this is possible the best use of a sprinkler I have ever seen. Congrats :)
This is such a great reminder of perfect maternal love-animal or human, we all are happiest when our children are happy. This video is such a rare find and it completely made my day to watch this mama moose watch her babies blissfully enjoying the simplest of things in life.
My cat Bart and I have to watch this every night now. He knows it so well that he will look in the direction that they will reappear. I have him trained to know the word Moose. Thank you for sharing. This is just as precious and innocent as can be. Brenda and Bart
There was a woman who commented on this video on another site. She said that she had a developmentally disabled son who had died, and this song was very special to her because it reminded her so much of her son and how very much she missed him. I will never forget the depth of her feelings that came thru her post; every time I watch this beautiful video, I think of her. Thanks for sharing a bit of God's beauty from your part of the world!
They are beautiful. So sweet ... twins!! The mother looks so proud as she should. Mother and babies are gorgeous ... little miracles. They’re having so much fun in the sprinkler. Reminds me of being a kid. We’re all not as different as we think. Very nice video. Thank you.
They are adorable ! They found water to play in , flowers to eat and mom just followed along , and it sure didn't look like any of them felt threatened at all..even when you told them not to eat the flowers. Thank you for sharing ..please share more & have a wonderful year !
i still love this video, watch it over and over, and smile every time, and it s one of my favourite songs as well. just love how the mom is so caring, and the little fellas come up to her for a few love touches. just awesome.THANKS SO MUCH.
Excellent choice for video. And awww I NEVER thought they were this cute. How sweet of them just prancing around playing and taking a little bath in process. Nice work.
Friday, 5/28/10. Wow! It just doesn't get much better than this. Great eye on the camera. Perfect song. How fabulous that you set the sprinkler out for them to cool off and you caught it all on tape. If anyone out there says animals don't have emotion, check out their sheer happiness, joy and pleasure. See how content mama is to see her babies kicking up their heels with glee. I agree with 4Topwood. Best use ever for a lawn sprinkler. You blessed me and made my day. Thank you!
@Snaarley Hi Snarley, Glad you liked the video! We were standing within 20 feet of them right outside our door. The more enthusiastic little one was running around and getting within 5 feet of us. Take care and God Bless You!
Really beautiful video, and I happen to think Allison Krause's voice is perfect for such a heartwarming scene of 2 babies playing in a sprinkler with a loving mommy standing by watching...
So sweet... There's no better word than just amazing when your watching nature at its best... With the mountains in the background at one point ... Just breathtaking to watch this little family.. thanks for sharing..
I saw this when it was placed here in 2008. I told them it would get at least one million views. Here it is at over 5 million in 2020! It is just as touching today as it was in 2008. I'm happy the original music was kept. It is PERFECT for this video.
I'm glad to see I am not the only one tearing up over this one. Actually, as adorable as mom and her calves are, this song blew me away. Spent the next hour listening to other artists doing their thing with it. Found a few good ones and saved them, including an equally awesome live performance by Alison. huGGs, to arcticsooner for sharing this gem.
I agree. One of the BEST! I come back again and again to watch it over and over. I show it to everyone. This video is the reason I am on RU-vid at all. Thank you so much for putting it online.
You have to gave ice cubes running in your veins not to adore this peaceful, gentle and innocent moment. This is mine and my friends all time favorites.
Wow! They are sooo cute. They are having a ball. Even mom has a little fun. I love this song. Its perfect. Its a great video to view when your feelin down. Thx for posting. I love & miss Alaska. I was stationed in Ketchikan for a year. I wish I could live up there.
You ever seen a moose up close, they are huge! No joke one put a big hole in the side of my wife's grandparents house after it charged them while they were out doing yard work in northern mn
We were backpacking in northern Idaho and saw some, it was just the kids and me, so I kept a great distance. Yes they are big, the babes we saw were the size of horses. It would be fun to watch them act like the video. Those are probably accustomed to the neighborhood.
PERFECT song choice depicting a Mother's LOVE in such a BEAUTIFUL and TOUCHING video. Love NATURE and your video shows me WHY. Thanks again so much for posting it for all to see.
My grandma sent me an email with a link to this video when I was nine... she passed away less than a year later and this is my first time watching this since. I'm crying now. Thank you for leaving this video up for so long! ❤️
Thanks for brightening my day with this lovely video! I've never seen a moose in person, so this was the closest I've been. Absolutely breathtaking when mama moose comes out!!
I enjoyed this video. It's amazing how the twins are completely opposite of one another. One is rambunctious and playful, the other is quiet and reserved.
I live in Anchorage and had a momma moose come every year with her baby's for 8 years. It is sad to not see her anymore and her baby's come great us. I sure miss them all!
The first time I saw this video (& a few times after that) I cried too. Sooo sweet. I haven't been blessed with children of my own but I love that mothers & fathers are sending this video to their kids, both young and adult, and vice versa. Makes you remember what's really important in life. And yeah, that mother is huge, incredible!! Thanks for sharing this video with the world.
@xWick3ddx I was zoomed out as much as I could. The baby would run within 5 feet of us. We were on the backporch, next to the open door. the mother was standing about 15 feet from us. No, they do not get scared of us. They are neighborhood moose that accustomed to children, dogs, cars and gawkers with cameras :) Glad you enjoyed the post. Arcticlilly
***** Oh? Grab the rifle and take the kid out for a nice day of shooting? People who buy shotguns to go pigeon hunting, for example. Hunting is BS. You don't think nature can keep animals alive? Good thing humans have been doing the ecosystem for 4.6 billion years, oh wait humans have only been around 40,000 years, the rest nature has done itself quite well. We have an egotism where we think without our intervention nature is screwed. We are wrong.
Ah zack. But the thing is that regardless of if i eat them or not that animal will still be dead so eating it is no doing of mine. Rather i eat it and pray for its soul which i do than some person est half and throw the rest away wastefully.
you clearly have no idea what you're talking about. Upon killing an animal you must take the most amount of meat possible, so therefore your statement is invalid
