THANKS A LOT FOR THE VIDEO.BECAUSE OF YOUR VIDEO WE WERE ABLE TO SOLVE A PROBLEM IN OUR OF CAT MACHINE(RM 300) WHICH IS ALSO HAVING A SIMILAR TYPE OF OVER CENTER CLUTCH.
Hello, I am working on an American 7250 crane. It has a SP 214 P1 twin disk clutch. The clutch is slipping when we try to pick heavy loads. I tried adjusting it. Once the pin is pushed in, the plate will not spin when hitting it with a punch and hammer. I did not want to excessively hit it and damage anything. Would you have any ideas as to why it will not spin? Thank you
I am waiting on a reply from our Mechanical department! We will let you know as soon as possible! You could also call the office at 570-966-7312 and ask for Michael or Laverne!
Here is the response that I got from Michael who was the one who shot the original video: "Either your out of adjustment or then its locked up." If you have more questions feel free to call 570-966-7312 and ask for Michael or email him at michael@ewdrilling.net.
Thank you for the reply. I gave it another attempt and was able to get the ring to spin clockwise one notch, it did take several blows of a 3 lb. hammer and punch but the clutch is now properly adjusted. Thank you for your help, the video was very useful.
I have a morbark model 290 twin disc. We was engageing in to start chipping and it was going in put all a sudden it want move any now, you can move it a little but it want engage. My question is, what could it be causing it not to engage it's real hard please help. Thank you
I was disappointed with the video. I was hoping Twin Disc or someone supplies a tool to fit and turn the adjuster nut. It is quite soft & easily damaged by a punch. It then jams in the over centre mechanism. How do we measure the 150 lb/ ft adjustment torque?
