I'm curious as to how OP's twin took over her job in the first story. OP's profession (doctor) requires a lot of specialized skills (unless, of cousre, OP''s twin decided to quit OP's job the second she returned to OP's s home country.) We seem to be missing some details from the story.
The evil twin probably told the fiance she doesn't want to work anymore and wanted to be a stay at home Mom. It's a bit frustrating that for the original twin missing the daily phone calls with their family worried about them, their provable Medical knowledge, connection to her work, or hospital records of the evil twins stabbing and the original twin lacking said stab wound scar are all different things that could've helped prove her innocence that didn't get mentioned in the story or she missed as outs. All it would take is one Google search (depending on decade the story takes place in) for her companies phone number and court permission to phone said work to be proof of working and living in that different country for literal years! So many questions.
My theory is that the entire year they lived together, Ruby was plotting. She acted like she couldn't act like Ruby, to make Ruby think she was safe, all while practicing in front of her mirror, while she was alone. She almost certainly seduced the fiance, and got him in on the plan. And when she got home, she spun an absolute HORROR story of what "Chantelle" had done to her (hence the mother slapping her), and declared that she was "too stressed to keep working. I just want to be a stay-at-home wife and mother, from now on." If the fiance was in on it, it would explain how he "didn't know the difference," even though his new wife had NO medical knowledge, but she DID have a scar from a stab wound. Oh, yeah. He KNEW. And that woman wore a fake beauty mark, every day, from then on. I bet he got turned on watching her remove it at the end of the day. ICK!

And she didn't, and actively worked against her, instead. And Chantelle put on the fake beauty mark, and acted to fool the (senile) mother, and various friends, all with the cooperation of the fiance, who would have spotted the difference the first time they were naked together (stab wound scar), and also would have noticed the lack of medical knowledge. But, if she spun a horror story about the trip, and claimed that she was SO TRAUMATIZED that she had to quit working AT ONCE, she might be able to fool the rest of the world. Clearly, she spent that ENTIRE year they lived together, planning and plotting, and practicing, and even acted as if she couldn't act, just to fool Ruby into thinking, "She can't act like me, even if she wants to." Really did have an aunt that lived through a similar first story, only it wasn't drug possession... it was a murder and in Germany, and we never would of known of the whole switch if it where not for my grandmothers ties to the "underworld" as alot of people put it

This reminds me of a old Law and Order episode where one twin was Russian mail order bride who took the place of her twin who was graped and murdered by her pimps.
Story 1. I’m calling BS. First, you’re telling me in the USA she was able to graduate with an undergrad degree, medical degree, and had been practicing medicine for several Years by the time they were 25….with no mention of having to do a residency? I don’t think so. 2. Mom says dad didn’t know about the second baby, BUT then they had to stop looking for the second baby because it was putting a strain on their marriage? Which is it? Also, I don’t know many rich people who wouldn’t be suing the hell out of not only the hospital but seeing what they could do to make the nurses and anyone else involved lives very very hard.
Don't forget that the evil twin was apparently able to impersonate her for over half a decade, despite probably not having gone to an American Medical school.
@@lnsflare1 honestly, I found the first part of the story so unbelievably, I stopped watching. So I have no idea if the twin was practicing medicine or not. But scars, freckles, and finger prints dont just change/disappear/move. At no point did the fiancé or mother look at the twin and think “I though you had X there?” Or she didnt have to renew OPs driver license? And last I checked there only good for ten years and (at least my state government) requires a thumb print scan.
Plus there was no record of the mother having birthed twins? Ridiculous. Especially since she sued the hospital and got a payout. This whole thing sounded so fake to me. Fiancé couldn't tell the evil twin wasn't her? Gimme a break! Or was Frank in on the whole thing? I just don't buy it. I would completely believe a foreign country convicting her because they didn't believe she had a twin.

That's actually the most believable part for me. We don't really dial numbers of friends and family anymore. So a lot of people don't know the personal numbers of friends and family, unless they are really old memorized numbers.
Not necessarily true what you are saying. I don't know anyone's phone number except for my daughters and that is only because I put her phone number in at 7-Eleven so she can get points when I shop. So her not knowing her fiance's number is very believable to me. Okay, story one was a wild ride, but a little hard to believe. 1. I can understand not knowing her Boy friends number (not really after 5 years it should be easy), but seriously I would be blowing up my mom’s phone, my work place, my best friend. What is she like the woman from the movie the net? She couldn’t find anyone to vouch for her 2. Why not ask for a new lawyer from the judge, since she was paying her why can’t she fire her? 3. When you get back to the states why not head to the police? 4. I am going to presume the twin got pregnant right away and decided to be a stay at home mom and gave up her career as a doctor and got pregnant again when the kid would start school. 5. As twins it will come down to memories to prove who is lying, unless there are different vaccinations required by the country she grew up in doesn’t have because she did not grow up here.

OP had no control over which lawyer was assigned to her, and the sister had connections, and paid off the public defender, until that particular one was suddenly unavailable, and a new one was assigned, and the sister didn't act fast enough to pay off the new one, too. 3 - Yeah, she really should have gone to the police. But, she was PLOTTING VENGEANCE, which would probably involve committing a crime, so may that's why she did not go to the police. Or, maybe, she had lousy police in her home town. 4 - Almost certainly, the fiance was in on the plot, because he HAD to notice the stab wound scar, and the fact that his wife suddenly had no medical knowledge. But, judging by the mother's reaction, "Ruby" came home spinning an outrageous horror story about what "Chantelle" had done to her on the vacation, and she was "JUST SO TRAUMATIZED," that she HAD to quit work AT ONCE. After that, it was a simple case of "I want to be a stay-at-home wife and mother," with her co-conspirator husband. 5 - The mother was already losing it, mentally, and they had spent a year together, during which time, Chantelle had plotted and schemed, and STUDIED as hard as she could. She planned the vacation, when she felt ready, and was sure she had learned all the secrets she needed to "prove" to her mother who she was.

I always think in cases of emergency or my phone dies and I need help. So within 5 years plus she is about to marry the guy it should be known. 2. From what I got, yes Chantelle paid for Ruby’s private lawyer, who was not a state lawyer. But since the Court thinks Ruby is Chantelle, if fact the court does not think a twin exists. So why couldn’t she go to court and say your fired in front of everyone. Also, she says once the paid lawyer could not appear then she was assigned a state lawyer. 3. Plotting vengeance in America? She just did 6 years in jail. I understand her running home to see her mom. But then throwing away her life to kill the chick after a 5 plus hour plane ride. Not believing it. The mother was the weakest link, but the mother lives alone and can function. I thought she was more depressed due to husband lost. But if she was getting calls from Ruby real time begging for help. It would have made Chantelle’s job selling her returning to her mom harder. Plus if it is a choice of me being in a foreign jail for long term or harassing my sick mom. Not even a thought, and I know my mom’s choice is the same. 6. Go back and listen to her mother’s telling of Chantelle’s kidnapping. That story is confusing as hell. In America that kind of thing would have made national news. Young influential couple had twin girls. And somehow after the hospital caused a woman to look se her baby girl to death; the compounded the issue by giving the grieving mother one of the twins by mistake. The hospital would have been sued, and it would be a major thing. 7. Why no update until MrR asked for it? Why leave her story on a cliffhanger. Unless it was recently published. I know truth can be stranger than fiction but not sure if this a bridge to far.
She probably made up some story about how 'Chantelle' had traumatized her so badly she had to give up her career. That would also contribute to the anger OP's mom showed toward her, thinking she was Chantelle. Still OP's medical knowledge could have helped in proving who she really is. As are the fingerprints you have to submit to get your passport. Since OP got back within ten years, that passport should still be valid and the fingerprints on file.
Having such a hard time believing this story is true. It definitely sounds like something from a movie. Where did she keep her engagement ring hidden all those years. To many questions regarding this story.
I suppose in the "traditional" method that women prisoners hide shanks and drugs. but it seems unlikely that in the shock of arrest she'd have the presence of mind to hide it before it would be logged or stolen.
Right if i was op i would make her sister pay for stealing her life and i truly bet op fiancé and mom was in on it with that home wrecker taking op place i would make her pay for everything and make hell for her sweet sweet revenge 🤣🤣😏
There's something fishy about the evil twin story. It does not seem possible that she could fake out OP's mother and fiance or any friends who had known her a long time for years. Too many little things like small mannerisms or just not knowing things that OP would obviously know. Moles and/or piercings in places you can't see would also be problematic for the evil twin, and after one roll in the hay, the fiance would have to know something is off. It just doesn't seem plausable.
Alright, take this with a big grain of salt because I heard it 20 years ago: There were a set of identical twin girls who went to college downtown. One was legitimately hard working and sweet and the other was... a brat. Anyway, the hard working one would sometimes take tests and classes for the brat so they could both graduate. Even sometimes take her shifts at work.... and the brat repayed her by watching her screw her boyfriend from the closet and then tricking him into doing both. And she neither the boyfriend nor the good sister found out until the brat got pregnant. Infighting, chaos, dyed hair, boyfriend joined the military... girlfriend suggested they run away and elope and boyfriend ran with it... and thus got tricked into marrying the brat.

I suspect most identical twins try something like that sometime in their lives. It's a different thing altogether to try and fake out your twin's parents, partner, siblings, good friends, etc. That was one heck of a story though! Thanks for sharing!

Story 1 I find hard to believe. First off, the DNA from twins doesn't match exactly, so she can get tested again to prove that's who she is. Their fingerprints are also different. They would not have had the same accent, and their voice would be different. Plus, she didn't speak the language of the country they were in, but apparently her sister did. Why didn't she contact the American embassy? How could the sister pay for a lawyer and people not know it? They would not have the same memories. I also find it hard to believe that neither the mother nor the fiance realized it was the wrong twin.
I get the feeling that not only was OP dumb enough to go to a foreign country and try drugs with a stranger. He probably told that girl her whole life story from start to finish. Including all of her secrets about her relationship with Frank too. This was a long con from day 1.
2nd Story: OP should have told his family and friends as soon as he broke up. No need for him to be embarrassed about his ex’s behavior. The fact that she cheated looks badly on her, not him.

The hard part is how to fix relationship if him and what to with the kids he has now. Legally you could dissolve the marriage but he would need to consider giving up the kids and their life to repair things with her. That would mean the kids have a dead beat father which is worse.

Story 1:- i read this reddit story 1 month ago but op deleted the story on reddit. The update:- she got a lawyer and about to sue her sister and send her to jail but her fiance and mother stopped her because now children are involved. So she left without revenge. But after few years she came to know that she has a large sum of loans in her name in the hometown and local banks. Op got to know that her sister and her fiance divorced after 2 years and from than her sister again started using her identity op didn't know this because she left the country. She came to know about the sister stealing her identity again after her medical license was cancelled because her sister was practicing in her name in the hometown and disabled some guy so he sued her. And it took her 6 years to clear all the medical miss practice charges because of the foreign hospital she worked but she had to pay the loan anyway because her sister left the country and she doesn't have a twin on record.
Note extra info from comments:- she told the loan was in 7 figures and her ex fiance and mother knew her sister was using her identity again but they wanted her crap again so they did nothing. Op said her parents did sue the hospital for lost child got settled with money of court. It took her so much time to clear all charges because her sister's did a wide range of crimes from parking ticket to steals pills from hospital. So op had to visit 3 different type of courts in 3 states and prove her innocence from start because their was no record of birth of twins on her mother's name. Only defence she got was her experience certificate from the hospital she worked abroad and due to the evidence is international it took more time to verify it.

My sister used my name and used to go to party's as me and cause me problems . She got me arrested , sent to court, split me up from family members and friends. My cousin said she wants to be me and went as far as getting surgery to make her stomach smaller to compete she also said she wanted to sell me!!!! When I used to meet her there was always a man on the street , in a shop who before I met her would try to get my number ask me out. She was sending them to me!!!! That first story: go to the police. Get your arse fingerprinted. Even better. Get ANOTHER DNA test from the same company. You can put a fake name, and it will STILL show up as you. Story 2: NTA. OP handled it as he wished. The aholes in his life totally disregarded and disrespected him and deserve no quarter. Were I OP, at this point I would shame the load of them publicly. If I had evidence of the cheating I would show it. Yeah I'm just going to say this on the last story Op and her mom need to cut this dude off he's not worth a single moment of their life like I'm sorry I don't have sympathy for cheaters and when they try to use the excuse like oh it's been decades you need to get over it because this is my new wife and kids well it's like they say if you're going to choose your new wife and kids instead of understanding you're in the wrong and you're the bad guy then this is exactly why you get to lose your original Wife and Kids
Story 1: Back in the day kidnapping babies from hospitals was a lot easier. Slip a sleeping baby into a large handbag and walk out. The OP must have felt so betrayed by her own flesh and blood. I don't know what else to say here. I guess that the twin and Other Mother didn't have much and few morals to survive. Or jealousy of the OP's perfect life. I hope the Op managed to convince the man who should have been her husband that she's the real Ruby. I'd also put some make-up remover to good use on the sister's face. Story 2: I think that the mum can have her precious Sarah and a stand in daughter replacing her son. I think Sarah may have twisted things to make herself look better for her. Story 3: The dad cheated and is paying the consequences of divided resources. NTA. The dad is entitled and probably doesn't even see a problem with his affair to this day.
Shortly after I left my ex husband of 6 years I found out he had been with my best friend of 17 years. Her betraying me hurt worse than his betrayal. I would / could have never watched any their children (if they would have had any) no matter what the circumstances were. Being double betrayed like that just doesn’t go away. Her ex has 0% empathy and obviously never did when it came to her. How would he have felt if she had had an affair with his best friend for 5 years then married him as soon as their divorce was finalized followed by having 6 more children. I highly doubt he would have watched he 6 kids. That’s no different.
I’ve seen a couple of Reddit-readers cover the first story… honestly I do not believe it. There’s too much that the sister would have to know to pull that off. If OP was a doctor, how the hell would the sister assume that occupation without training? How would OP manage to hang onto an expensive engagement ring thru prison? Why did she know her sister’s number, but not the fiancé’s? Why wasn’t OP able to contact the US embassy in that country? How would the fiancé/husband not realize the person that returned is not the person he loved? Maaaybe the mom didn’t realize because she was old, but that’s still a stretch. I dunno. There is just so much with this story that just is too unrealistic.
I'd like to live in the bubble where the people think of Story1 creative writting and fake. I wonder if those people even leave their homes and think the world is all unicorn and butterflies with flower sprinkled all over smelling like heaven.
Story 2. YDI (you deserve it.) If you're not going to tell your side of the story, your family will believe the story that you did things "for no reason."
story 1 about the twin sisters left my mouth open in shock. OP didn't deserve any of what happened to her. Hearing that her ex had 2 kids with his sister hurt my feelings.
He was almosst certainly in on the plan, too. There is NO WAY she could have fooled him. The aging mother, who only saw the face and clothes? Yeah. But the lover, who saw her naked, complete with stab wound scar? NO WAY. Also, they were BOTH doctors, so he'd know she had no medical knowledge. She'd have to immediately quit her job, as soon as she got back from vacation, to avoid exposure by her colleagues. But HE was IN ON IT.
2nd story OP NTA but seriously, OP you should have just told your family, especially when she was trying to weasel her way into getting the family on her side. You should have turned the tables then and there in front of everyone, and called her out on her cheating. IT would have been her humiliation at that point OP. Might be easy for her to others about it but a lot harder to lie right in front of you, if she still thinks she loves you and is in the mindset of wanting you back. That she cheats does not have to reflect on you at all OP, nor does it mean you are any kind of failure or did anything wrong. It may just have been she was an unfaithful lying wretch.
Reddito for story 2 I would have handle it the same way if I had a partner that cheated on me. They cheated, I don’t want to see them and if you continue to bring them around or don’t believe me then don’t expect to see me anymore.
The main story doesn't make sense, because it would take a medical board 2 minutes to unravel the imposter medic, and the imposter also has an old stab wound mentioned in this story. In prison, a medic could make themself very useful even if she was just a trustee in the prison infirmary.
1: I’m wondering how the fiancé didn’t realize that it wasn’t OP. They were close enough to be getting married, and there were plenty of little things the sister would have no knowledge of. Even if she were good at bluffing she’d slip up eventually. Plus there’s the huge scar from getting stabbed, which OP didn’t have. 2: How is it less humiliating to crawl out of a window and run away like a coward than just fess up to everyone that the ex cheated? She’d be the one looking bad if OP had said that to the crowd.
Story two: OP, you should have told the truth all along. Sarah is gaming the system and trying to come out on top by making you the villain. TELL anyone who expresses interest that she cheated on you. Name the guy(s) if you know who it is. If Sarah tries another "reconciliation," out her in public. Call her the cheater she is. Tell her you will never forgive her, that there is no chance you will ever let her back into your life, and that she needs to work things out with her affair partner if she wants a relationship. If she keeps lying about the breakup, considering filing suit against her for defamation. And if your family insist on supporting her and denying the truth, you are better off without them.
