Twin Troller X10 - Things
This video covers several issues or things. Some things are reviews from the past and show how they can help the future.
The Twin Troller X10 may be a small boat but it has some powerful abilities.

Gerry, I put them on the trailer for my 13 ft Mako Skiff and it was miraculous! I do not dunk my trailer. Normally I bust my guts trying to push the boat off the bunks. Now I actually hold onto the winch handle and in reverse I slowly allow the boat into the water.

A great idea for next spring Gerry. I have been doing a lot of shore and dock fishing lately because by the time you get the TT on the water at 40 some degrees it doesn't take long before you want to head back to the dock. Really been enjoying my retirement with not only fishing but I'm getting back into woodworking as well. Had to buy a new table saw and a bigger 12 inch sliding compound miter saw but if it's enjoyable why not get what you want. Mrs Steve loves it when I'm throwing boards around my shop cause it keeps me out of her hair and she told me the last thing she wants to see is me in my recliner watching old westerns all day. Have fun with the Granddaughter.

@@sutv6754I don’t have this boat. But it’s my understanding that it can go against river current. Boat has a fairly low draft wishing enables the boat to stay shallow riding. Our boat house has an unused jet skii dual cable lift. Is there any place for a push pole inside the boat?
@LunkerFishing
@LunkerFishing Год назад
Gene, depending on the length of the pole you can lay it in either rod rack on the sides of the boat. If it is a long pole you can hang more off the rear of the boat so it minimally interferes with casting in the front. Gerry

Love your videos. I want to add launching wheels to my Twin Troller. Any ideas regarding mounting?
@LunkerFishing
@LunkerFishing 3 года назад
Beth, I assume you mean you want to permanently attach wheels to the TT? I have not heard of anyone doing that. The wheels would have to be very strong. You would have to make holes in the hull below the water line to attach the wheels that may leak into the hull. Nothing sounds good about doing that. Sorry! If you find a way to do that send me photos please. Gerry

Any possibility of the mats being blown out of the boat going down the road?

You mentioned a problem with Hydrilla coming through the grate and clogging your motors. Have you tried covering the grate with some thing like half inch hardware cloth?
@LunkerFishing
@LunkerFishing 3 года назад
Mark, I have not tried covering the grates because there needs to be a free flow of a large amount of water and that would restrict the water available for the motors to push and propel the boat. I am careful to not try and use the motors where the hydrilla is topped out and if the hydrilla is still too close to the bottom of the TT grates I use only the slowest speed to get out of that area so the weeds are not sucked up into the motors. If you have not looked at my video on the weed removal tool I made you should, because that will remove the weeds if they get on the grates from inside the boat. Gerry
@marklandry2509
@marklandry2509 3 года назад
@@LunkerFishing I did see that video and you also mentioned it in this one, I was hoping to find a TT owner who has tried it because it could possibly be a relatively cheap solution. The problem I envision is that the hydrilla wouldn’t become entangled in the prop, but might become trapped on the hardware cloth due to the suction of the motors, with a possible solution of reversing when needed to blow it back out. If you ever do try that, please let us know Thanks and I enjoy your vids

question, what about the recessed area where the foot pedals go, even if you cut out that area so they’re not covering your pedals it still won’t work because of thickness of mat, it would raise the pedals so they couldn’t make contact with the ridges on floor to lock them in place.
@LunkerFishing

Mike, watch the video again. The red pads stop at the rear of the pedals when they are in the rearmost slots in the floor. They do not go under or around the pedals. Gerry

How easy was the trailer to first put together when it first arrived? How long would it take one old guy to do it? : )
@LunkerFishing

Neighbor Bob, I was an old guy when I assembled my trailer and surprise, I am still old! I did so in my garage using power tools but much of it was assembled with wrenches and a ratchet wrench. I assembled the trailer on it’s back until the undercarriage was done then flipped it over on the tires to finish. You can do this, just take your time and follow the manual. You should wear work gloves because there are some sharp edges on the metal. Good luck, Gerry

What is the max weight on the transom for a boat motor?
@LunkerFishing
@LunkerFishing 3 года назад
Boats do not have such a weight rating for the transom. The boat is rated for 3 persons or 475 pounds. 560 pounds persons, motor, and gear and 2 hp motor per the Coast Guard placard on the boat. The Twin Troller is sold with the Honda 2.3 hp so that is confusing. Gerry

Anyway there a few ponds in my area and the twin troller would be perfect for what’s available here. The problem is....how can I find a TT around here? Can’t afford a new one, will jump on a used boat. Where do I turn to now? Keep up the great vids, they keep me hoping for my dream boat.
@LunkerFishing
@LunkerFishing 4 года назад
Patrick, one thing you can do is post below my newest video (just like you did here) when I post them and say where you are and ask if anyone knows of a good used one for you to buy. You could say how far you are willing to travel for one. Recently a TT owner had to sell his boat in south Florida. The buyer came all all the way from Texas to get it. I have to guess that he was coming here for another reason also but I am not sure. I would do searches on Craigs List and places like that. You can go to Facebook and join the Twin Troller Community group and post there for anyone in your area selling a TT. Have you tried contacting Freedom Electric Marine, the maker of the Twin Troller? I bet once in a while they gat a line on someone needing to sell their boat. Try an internet search for on line used boat sales or just do searches for used Twin Troller X10 for sale, you may get lucky. Make sure you check back to the my videos that you post on to see if someone responds. You do not want to miss someone trying to contact you. Good luck, Gerry

Hey Jerry, Have you been able to take it out on the road yet to see if those foam panels will fly out or not. I guess that’ll be my only concern running down the interstate I’d have to have stuff sitting on the floor of the boat to keep the wind from sucking them things out.

Dan, I had that same concern. I rarely cover my boat but with them all fitted together they seem to not lift out at all. I have a paddle that I always keep in the boat that helps hold the panels down too. The seats over the panels would keep them from getting too far if the did start lifting. My conclusion is I never think about them at all. Gerry
