Theres one thing you forgot and that is ease of service...the daiwa you need a special tool to open the MQ body which will cost you another 50 dollars...plus if you ever need to redo the magseal oil you will first need to source the oil and then find someone with the know how to do that for you because in most countries around the world Daiwa service centers are few and far between....so the twinpower wins hands down because it can be serviced by most reel mechanics

In South Africa we have a different issue, Daiwa service centres are well established with no parts concerns at all and the cost of service is the same as high end shimanos. Shimano has a known parts issue in SA with parts sometimes not being available at all after a certain period for reels that are still in use. I didnt discuss this purposely because internationally this varies largely especially with Alan Hawk expressing this issue with Daiwa as a concern.

The Certate and Saltiga spools are also interchangeable

Yes, they are

the daiwa actually holds more braid because the daiwa test braid is J braid and the Shimano test braid power pro, and j braid is much thicker in diameter.

On paper, the twinpower 14k takes roughly the same amount as a certate 14k, (when comparing equal diameters) That’s without taking into consideration the fact that you can overspool the TP without issues. From experience, I spool reels regularly - current shimmies definitely hold a little more line than current Daiwas.

Hi Eb, I’ve been a die-hard Shimano fan for years but the 1 reel I haven’t enjoyed is my Saragosa 20000/25000 because of the shear bulk & weight & as a result have been using my Twinpower 10000pg with two 14000 spools for our summer inedibles. However I have for the first time started considering a Diawa Certate 18000 based on all the reviews & discussions with mates. The only concern I have is the faster retrieve of 5.8.1 vs. a power gear of 4.3.1 etc. What’s your point of view regarding the faster gearing for our summer fish?

Hi Tven, I have been using the 18000 certate since December. So far 0 hassles. I prefer the HG to the PG as I fish points most times and it makes retrieving the sinkers in without getting snagged alot easier, even preferred the Stella 18000 to the 20k. Never had issues where I felt I had less power on the crank. The 6.2 to 1 in the 14000 is alittle too fast though and does feel too fast for edibles and could pull hooks. All my reels are HG gearing and are my preferance.

Shot for the video bro, please do a review on the Ecooda black hawk 2. I know it's a budget reel but I heard it's a good reel. How does it handle splashes and dropped in sand etc?
@theos323
@theos323 Год назад
Was looking at getting the Ecooda for shad etc, but don't know this brand. I had other budget brands but they started grinding and stopped working when dropped in sand by mistake.

Will consider a review. The reels aesthetics dont hold much as it doesnt stay new like premium reels. But its probably one of the best mid range reels out there. Mines about two and a half years old and it drag and reel is still as smooth as the day I bought it. Got a 42,3 kg duckbill on 20lb braid on thaf reel last weekend and went spinning with it this morning. Zero issues

Hi, how much meters braid do you have on your 14000 twin power spool, also which braid are you using on that spool, thanks in advanced
@fishaddiction
@fishaddiction Год назад
I have had a few 14000 twinpowers, I have 40lb grinder drop zone top shot on this one and the backing is 50 lb grinder braid. It has around 650m in total. With only 50lb grinder braid it takes about 570m in total.

@@fishaddiction thanks, how is the 14000 for non eds ( bronzies )
@fishaddiction
@fishaddiction Год назад
@@thereandbackagainadventures it will land a few before showing any issues. Not ideal though. The new heat sink drag on the latest model is the same as the stella, works brilliantly. Check with Luan Els I believe he has landed a few on a 14000 twinpower.
