Compilation video of Twisted Metal 2 World Tour all endings. including the endings of secrets characters: Minion and Sweet Tooth. 1996 - Sony Computer Entertainment All Rights Reserved twistedmetal.com/
What about the ending of dark tooth? There is a recording of a arcade machine with that ending. The video has been around internet the last 10 years. I think it was recorded in Perú 🤔
@@DrEarthwormRobotnik Yeah, it's like seeing the edgy kid genuinely cry when they talk about a certain subject, and they probably are gonna look like the anime girl crying.
Calypso is told directly by his daughter that she has a bomb inside her that is intended to kill him...and he still embraces her knowing he will die. It's a nice bit of character development for a villain.
I remember beating the game with all the characters to watch the endings when this game came out, little did I know back then how easy it would be today to view them all.
@jygb7092 The dumbest one is when he sends the woman into space, both her and her brother are fine in the vacuum and then they fly a rocket car back to earth. Even for Twisted Metal, that is .. ridiculous. And that's saying a lot.
@@predeterminedmeat5024 I did use the word ridiculous instead of stupid for a reason. I'm pretty sure they knew it was completely nuts when they put it in there.
@@BlazingOwnager I always figured Calypso made it so they would be able to survive space and have to face the reality of being lost and alone forever.
Why would he? Calypso usually twist the wishes when he knows it would bring more suffering, and twisting Sweet Tooth's wish won't bring any laughs nor suffering. Not to mention Needles Kane is mad.
I liked Whittlebone's ending. It's a retelling of a timeless parable of hubris and greed. Plus, unlike in the stupid Twisted Metal 3 endings where Calypso interprets peoples' wishes with wild stretches of his imagination: he actually does give Whittlebone and Grim precisely what they had in mind but their own fatal flaws cause them to screw themselves over.
And some of them simply got what they wanted, and did not get screwed over by verbage. Axel got the strength to face his father and force his way out of his apparatus, and Sweet Tooth got to be a freaking bug that didn't just get stepped on day one.
3 best endings in TM2. 1. Hammerhead (crackhead surfers died by their own stupidity) 2. Minion (Calypso gets punishment) 3. Outlaw 2 (had smartest plan to save her brother and was prepared for her wish)
Favorite endings: 1. Minion (my favorite, Calypso goes to hell for his actions) 2. Grasshopper ending (Calypso gets hurt/dies by the L.A.P.D) 3. Mortimer's ending: (Calypso gets hurt by the souls who he killed) Honorable Mention: Outlaw 2, she had a plan and used her Jet Boosters, she had gotten wise to Calypso's plans)
@@ComicWriter-ml3qt Unless he had ready access to a year's worth of food & water, or he cryogenically froze himself in his car, dehydration alone would kill him within a month.
@@rainman8534 "Ah yes, police are ISIS," Ah yes, totally what I said and meant, like 100% bruh. You're totally rational for deducing that, and are not completely retarded.
Mel McMurrin nailed this role. Super nice guy too. I emailed him some years ago, and he actually emailed me back with very nice words. I hope they bring him back for the next game
Undertaker's Ending Is Awesome Since Undertaker Got To His Patented Tombstone Piledriver On Calypso And To Add Insult To Injury He Used His Chokeslam On Calypso And KO'd Him With His Second Tombstone Piledriver But The Second One Was An Assisted Tombstone Piledriver
imagine sititng in an airplane... and then freakin calypso thanks you from the other side of the window for playing twisted metal :D i love that ending
+Qirex2097 Same here I always laugh so much at that expression of getting away from the vengeful souls. Thank you for reentering the Twilight Zone of Twisted metal. lol
Just wish that whatever you want happens whenever you want it until you don't want it anymore then it reverts back to the way it was before your wish. I.E. If you're dead because of your wish, you can't want anything and therefore the wish is cancelled and you're alive again.
he seems more inclined with being genuine if it involves revenge. I think for the most part he has to claim a soul somehow with each wish granted. And revenge tends to cause a death. I mean look at Axel. He asked for the strength to face his father. Calypso interpreted it as 'the strength to rip myself out of this machine.' I wonder how he'd interpret. "I wish for immortality, for the purpose of entering every twisted metal competition from this day forward."
Agreed, he was basically generous and only interpreted the wish in a different way that would probably still make them happy i mean damn, first class tickets? That's still awesome! The only trolling is they would be dissapointed at not having powers. Then they jump of the building and he is like "...welp", doesn't even look like he planned this or anything, he was just dumbfounded at his own trolling
+Patrick Briotte He'd probably still completely bullshit the wish. Sure, you wished for 1 million dollars in as safe a manner as you could think, but you didn't wish for there to not be a starving tiger hiding in it.
+Batman Drinks Pepsi He would then proceed to drop a "safe" onto the character, it happens in TM "head-on" and he showers coins on them crushing them instead
I liked Grasshopper's ending. It was sad, sure, but i felt like aside from Roadkill's it was the most humane. The look on Calypso's eyes sealed it for me, from shock, to joy, to solemn reservation and giving comfort to the daughter he thought lost forever. Sure, he has a twisted sense of humor, but with that ending we see the human side of him, especially when he first see's his daughter.
if this game was made today, you would start with 6 characters, then purchase the rest as dlc.i miss the good old days where games were fun and not all about online.......and you got the FULL game for one price.
@@GiordanDiodato 10/31/1996 was the day Twisted Metal 2 (the best game in the Twisted Metal franchise) was released so on Halloween 2021 this game will turn 25
I like how when the Hammerhead stooges fall to their death people crowd around wondering what happened as if the whole world isn't ending all around them.
Yes, the two talk and wear similar clothing, even share the same hair length. Pegasus also hosted an event, Duelist Kingdom, that the winner of the event could ask him a wish to grant, just like Calypso.
***** I just love that, outside of Krista, it's one of the few endings he doesn't screw over the winners on. They were just to stupid to think before they jumped.
I played this game as a child. I didn't expect it to be this well put together and elaborate. And people wonder why game standards today are so hard to meet, there was so much we got from older games. Shit like this really stays with you.
Would've been funny if they were talking at ground level and some guy just happened to fall from the rooftops. Calypso: Well now. Your wish is granted, and you didn't even need me to do it. Aren't you lucky! I Am Calypso! And I thank you for playing Twisted Metal!
I liked how Calypso hugged his daughter, even though she was a robot and he knew she was rigged to explode. Shows how much of a good father he really was, despite being a tyrant and an asshole.
The company was called Singletrac. But the important part is 4 names. David Jaffe, Scott Campbell, Kellan Hatch, and Randy Zorko. These are the 4 people responsible for Twisted Metal at it's best. Even when they got tossed from company to company, these 4 names were always making Twisted Metal best franchise possible.
Twisted Metal 3, 4 and Small Brawl were not made by the same studio/people. Quote from the creator: "They're great games, just not great Twisted Metal games."
Waifu Hunter I’m telling you, it’s such a dark story and the unreliable narrator aspect makes it even better. I hope it happens and you’re right, a LOT was chopped unfortunately to make the game seem more disjointed.
As a father myself, any dad who wouldnt immediately embrace his daughter when she says, “Hold me, daddy” doesn’t care. This changes my whole view of calypso, because I know, even if it meant certain death, I would hold my own daughter upon her request; even if it meant I would die. No father would ever deny his little girl his love. Calypso is a good dad.
Watching all these again is making me smile. I especially love how they continued each story for the PSP game, slowly shelving 3 and 4 as if they never existed. Perhaps someone wished to Calypso that they never existed. Haha
Stephen Aderanti HANDS DOWN! GET THIS GEM! (I got one but the booklet is missing.....I missed playing this game because minion's ending is by far the BEST!)
+Stephen Aderanti the reboot twisted metal 2012 is a great freaking game, the vehicle combat is by far the most interesting car combat there is ( I would even say better than this games)

Yeah, the image of Calypso's face suggests that Marcus IS crazy, and everything he's seeing is merely a hallucination granted to him by Calypso. (Never mind the fact that he IS, of course, correct in that he's in a video game being controlled by unseen powers.)
Twisted Metal is always the best. It's colorful, the cars and the characters a varied and different, thr arenas has a world tour theme. TM Black is just bland and brown, Twisted Metal 2012 is just 4 fucking characters that was from Black. It's a shame we don't get games like these anymore, all people want now is some COD or GTA bullshit.
COD are Rehash and GTa too, not unique. Twisted Metal is always unique and different, every series has its theme or crazy stuff. I hope they remake this TM2 cos its great, and its really Rare to find this game.
Grasshopper wasnt a regular mindless robot. She was rebuilt as a cyborg as a way of coming back from the accident much like robocop. Even though she still had her mind the lapd could control her will and they were able to program her to go after him and self destruct. She knew she was gonna die anyway and couldnt stop herself from fufilling her programmed misson. However not only did she still have lucid sense of her own human consciousness and love for her father enough to inform him of what was happening but she also still lfelt fear of her own impending demise. thats why in her final moments her natural humanity was able to take control of her own will in order to hug him one last time and have a final bittersweet moment of comfort and paternal affection. She was a conflicted cyborg. That makes that whole context of this particular theme much more sad and touching. Would make a good story.
The ending that marked me as a kid was Mr. Grim's. I don't know why, but it made me feel sad and unconfortable. For 3 days I couldn't eat, sleep, or do anything without remembering the ending, how true to life was.
By the way - the little card that comes up after Krista's ending? It reads: "The LAPD thanks you for putting an end to Twisted Metal. You have won!" What SHOULD feel like a monumental achievement, given that the literally world-shattering blood sport that is Twisted Metal is over, is delivered through quite possibly the most bitter pill in the franchise - yes, you bumped off Calypso and ended Twisted Metal. But to do so, the LAPD brought his daughter back from the brink of death to serve as a walking talking warhead delivered straight to the man on the chance that she happened to win to abuse the sole redeeming and sympathetic relationship he has left. And Calypso, who at that juncture would have every possible right to shout "That thing is not my child!" and push her away, and probably knew he would die for real if he didn't get the fuck out of dodge... stays with his daughter and hugs her in their final moments. And, OK - let's assume that this was the ONLY way to stop Calypso. Let's just ignore that Head-On exists and characters like Needles Kane and Agent Shepherd succeed in putting an end to Calypso one way or another without doing this. Even then, even under the assumption that this was the only way to put an end to Calypso and his competition, it's still one hell of a bitter pill that leaves many (myself including) practically screaming "You Bastards!" at the LAPD for sinking this low. The ends don't always justify the means.
I mean the tournaments are shown in many scenarios to bring humanity to the brink of extinction. With the idea of living through multiple tournaments I imagine any means would be acceptable.
@@jamesshaw2135 this and alternate universes have been confirmed. Like black and 2 aren't the same. Head on is disputed to where it goes because it referenced so much but head on can't be part of tm2 because it takes place before the tm comic of how tm2 calypso came to be
What I like about Calypso is that even though he's a big troll, he still has chinks in his armor. He's just as vulnerable to the events of the game as all the people he tricked and tortured, and that makes him way less boring than he could be had he just been untouchable unless the plot demands he's not. (I'm looking at you, Junko)
The crazy part about Morty is that he canonicaly has never killed an innocent in any tourney he enters. Only other contestants. And that's why he's the only person in the series to ALWAYS come out on top of Calypso's wishes.
9:49 i played TW3 first growing up but now I see why everyone says the endings suck. These endings are fucking amazing, the dude caught a plane to escape his ghosts and then just congratulated some random kid for winning twisted metal.
A character like Calypso should be the main villain for MK 12. It would be fun to see the endings for each character, demanding their wish, just to be screwed over by a deceitful wish.
Because of the animated approach to these endings, this is the best Twisted Metal. None of the others come close (and the metal song in Paris rocks too!).
I always took Roadkill's ending, especially with the flash of fire in Calypso's eyes, as the set-up for Twisted Metal Black. Like Calypso transports him out of the TM2 universe and into the TMB universe, which is why as Minion he makes messages such as "In the real world, my name is Marcus Kane"
Could be. I ascribe to the theory that Black is all in Sweet tooth's head. Him in between contests imagining scenarios while off killing people or while locked in an asylum waiting for the next year's tournament
8:45 "These rocket boosters will carry us back. Next year we'll enter Twisted Metal again and get our ultimate revenge on that burnt-faced freak!" Up until you burn up upon entering Earth's atmosphere. Have fun. :3
Nevermind the fact that they survived in space without all of obvious hazards... but then take into account that her brother had been in space for an entire year without any food or water.
Minion's ending is probably my favorite, just to see the normally smug and arrogant Calypso immediately quake in his boots with fear, knowing that he's screwed on the inside.
@@roetemeteorlike Calypso knew "You might take me down there but the Devil is just gonna let me come back. But let's make you feel special today buddy."
_Maximillion Pegasus's ending_ Calypso (narrating): Maximillion Pegasus, president of a company called Industrial Illusions, stood before me, the creator of Twisted Metal. Pegasus: Oh my! It seems we're both look alike! Surely we can do business if we met in times like these. Calypso: I can take that as a compliment, Mr. Pegasus. Thank you! Any prize that you desired will be yours! Pegasus: Yes, my prize. I've been waiting for this to wish something in my life. I wanted to resurrect the person that I truly, deeply loved! Calypso: That's your wish? You wanted to date a dead person? Pegasus: No, you misunderstand me! I wanted to bring life to my lost love; the beautiful lady that I loved dearly, Cecilia! She's my life! My motivation to bring her back from the dead! Calypso, my wish is to resurrect my lovely wife Cecilia back from the dead! _Calypso grants Pegasus's wish; Pegasus became overjoyed, but becomes frightened and gets attacked by a zombified Cecilia_ Calypso (narrating): With the wave of my arms, I resurrected Cecilia back from the dead. Pegasus was full of joy to see her in the flesh. But as the smog fade, Cecilia is actually a zombie who's been dead for more than a year since she had died from a disease! Cecilia: Pegasus! At last, we are together again! Pegasus: Nooooo! This is not Cecilia! Calypso, you imbecile! You will pay for this insolence! _Calypso sees Pegasus's Millennium Eye_ Calypso (narrating): As he screamed and cursed in front of me for making his wife into a zombie, I saw something glimmering on his right eye, hidden underneath his hair. The Millennium Eye, an ancient Egyptian artifact that I believed that whoever possesses it grants the wearer supernatural powers. I got closer to his face and grasping on to his eye socket I grabbed the artifact and pulled it out with shear force as Pegasus screams in agonizing pain! Pegasus: Aaarrgh! No, my Millennium Eye! Give it back! Calypso: Why should I? It really looks better and more sinister on me, isn't it? _shoves the Millennium Eye on his right eye_ How do I look, Pegasus? Do I look like you? Hahahahaha! Pegasus: Calypso, you imbecile! The Millennium Eye is mine! You hear me? Mine! Aaargh! Cecilia: Pegasus, lets get married! _drags Pegasus with her_ Calypso (narrating): Now that I have the Millennium Eye with me, my powers grows stronger to the point of becoming the most powerful man on earth. And lets not forget that Pegasus and Cecilia are together again and lived happily ever after (well, almost)! I am Calypso and I thank you playing Twisted Metal!
eddzetarabbit you should find the person who's the voice actor of calypso in this game to read this whole thing in calypso's voice and the English voice actor for Maximillion Pegasus in the original yugioh anime to read it along with him in his voice so that it feels like his ending if Pegasus was to win the twisted metal competition and meet calypso so that they can sync together with each other's respective character voices
Canonically, Outlaw won both Twisted Metal 1 and 2. Sweet Tooth won 3, and 4 just wasn't trying (it wasn't a bad game, but nowhere *near* as good as either the first two or even the third).
Jaimas interesting... i always assumed sweet tooth was always the cannon winner since supposedly the other twisted metal drivers die in the competition and sweet tooth atleast i think...... is the only driver to appear in all the games
KINGD353 Actually sweet tooth across the games aren't all the same person. Hell some of the other iconic characters are from different games just different people using the same style and premise. Mind you alot of the characters endings are designed with the assumption they won last year. So if say Outlaw is your favorite. The ending in Twisted Metal 2 implies it was Outlaw who won last year. Etc.
I.. Actually like this version of calypso better than 3.. He's more sinister, yet at the same time, more intelligent.. In 3, he seemed more like a B-rate comicbook villain with the trademark PS1 "playdoh-face" graphics.
"No, no! Please Minion, it's scary down there! No! I will erase my pact! Please! No! No, Minion! *Minion drops him in* NOOO!!" Me: Bye Calypso! *waves*
