I'm surprised at how good these are. All very in-character. And it's funny seeing Calypso get owned a lot more in this, guess he hadn't quite mastered his act yet lol.
Specter's ending in this actually implies this takes place *after* Twisted Metal 2, though the others are... ambiguous at best at its place, if any, in the main universe
hammerhead said a rock star. he wasn't vague about the genre. boy band music is pop. that's not a malicious interpretation of his wish. that's just granting the wrong wish
I know, but the constant with calypso is that he gives you exactly what you ask for but interprets your wish to give you something you don't want. So that doesn't fit

Incase no one has realized, but this game fallows after Twisted Metal 4. After you. Beat the game, calypso wants his ring back. Insted all the souls cause mass destruction to calypsos tower. But what you also see, is a blond boy picking the ring up. One theory is that boy is the calypso in this game, and he has the ring of the original calypso, and not knowing the rings true power, goes and fucks with all of the people in his school. Thus the ring puts in his mind a RC car contest of destruction

Yeah, Shadow is quite literally devoured by demons (you can even hear his "goring" eesh), Hammerhead's contestants are probably permanently deaf now, Outlaw is probably in Juvenile prison/getting his arse smacked like no tommorow, Spectre is likely now a terrorist/criminal, Needles Kane DEFINITELY knew what he is doing, Twister gets a ride to space (with added horror in that she likely died from the fall). Axel gets...well, to put it gently, gets controlled by Calypso despite the fact he is a cripple. Calypso doesn't get a break either...portaloo falls right on his head, gets pooped on by the contestant, eaten by a mutated frog, scratched to smithereens by a mangy cat. In some ways more than one, it could be very easy said that this is actually more twisted than BLACK because it puts a humouristic spin.

Samuel Pierce Not always. In Twisted Metal 3 his wish was to eat all the candy and ice cream he wanted and Calypso made him go to the dentist. And in the ps3 game his wish was to be brought to his daughter so he can kill her but Calypso trapped him underground in her coffin

And in the ps3 game he wanted to be taken to his daughter so he can kill her, and sadly there are people out there who just want to kill for no reason which is what he wanted. So his wish was more of a realistic thing than a normal thing. Calypso trapping him inside of his daughter's coffin was what wasn't normal

I get a lot of Ed Edd and Eddy vibes from this game. Part of me can totally imagine Eddy in a role similar to Billy Calypso, maybe forcing Edd to make weaponized RC cars for the race that are rigged to fail so he’d win.

I know this game (Twisted Metal: Small Brawl) was not generally accepted by many when it came out because "it was not Twisted Metal", but I really enjoyed this different take on the series. With two more games Incognito Entertainment could have taken the characters from kids to teens, from teens to early adults and they could have dug deep and explained/explored the experiences and events that really pushed these characters over the edge and broke them. With each game getting darker, it could have served as a prequel of sorts to Twisted Metal: Black that showcased how these characters ended up in the Asylum. Yes, they show brief intros in Twisted Metal: Black as to how or why they ended up in the Asylum but if there was an opportunity to do so why not dig deeper?
Yeah, I think this game really nails what TM3 and 4 failed to do. it aimed to be a completely different interpretation of the series and committed to it, whereas the previous two games felt like half measures. The endings play out like Looney Tunes gags, weapons became fireworks and the levels are everyday environments, which really put it into sharp contrast to TM Black's much darker, grittier tone.
It says in specters bio that he was a relative of a member who participated in twisted metal (his father) spectre from tm2 is his father "you win the game and want me to find your old man"
Calypso has screwed over many people over the years, from throwing Outlaw into space to burying Needles Kane alive, but what he did to Hammerhead in this game is by far the worst thing he ever done
2:35 love the ending, but I cant help but think it should have been Crimson Fury. His car was in a secret batman cave of all places! The original Specter was an actor. Wouldint it make more since to have his car in lock up or something?
Spectre in 1 was driven by Scott, the victim of a shooting months before the 10th TMT and his ghost was adrift... Spectre in 2 was driven by Ken (the in-universe actor in question), who is the dad of the shy lad.
I'll be honest, I like how Billy Calypso played along with Agent Stone's (Crimson Fury) James Bond impersonation (playing as the standard evil genius with a cat) but then Stone used it to get a one up on him
I imagine if darkside had an ending in this it would be a cutscene off a big dog smashing the hut and running over to lick Jimmy and they would leave as Calypso crawled dazed out of the rubble.

i really liked the humor in this game and what they do with the levels and stuff. which is why i didnt really like the twisted metal black because it lacks that element
I know many people thought it was a bad Twisted Metal because it was a lighter version of the darkness of the series but honestly I think it's a fun game, if I had known about it as a kid I would have spent entire afternoons playing it for sure.
O.R. Studios the intro to his story apparently calypso pushes him down a hill damaging his legs. on the wiki it says the ending is taking the piss out of disabled people.
Originally after the release of this game the crew behind twisted metal small brawl wanted to make a sequel with more battle arenas and newer characters. However it was only announced once and that game never happened. More likely it was abandoned.
I dont get why they cut Axel when other endings are just as "worse". Calypso got mangled by cat, he got pooped on, eaten alive, being used as a car bumper and such. Mr grimm got fate worse than death and Twister got sent to space. Theres also underage driving.
How great would it have been if Minion was in the game? He could have been a small demon and be one of the kids getting revenge on Calypso and he could do it by breathing fire onto him
Someone else said that Calypso looks a lot like Sid from Toy Story. Eeehhhh, not really, though they have similar tastes in clothing, it's their behavior and attitude that are similar. (would wager a large sack of silver that Pixar would be litigious over Sid getting the treatment that Slamm gives Calypso, lolz)
