I remember seeing Twisted Sister at UEA Norwich 1984! Lita Ford was supporting after her two supporting tours with Rainbow here the year before. It really was a cool gig in Norwich my birth City. Oh I miss the 1980’s 💜💜💜 1:33:46 1:33:46
was backstage the entire gig. if you look at the left side of the stage (as you see it) at 3:26, 8 yr old me and my brother can be seen sitting next to jay jays daughter on some amps... fun times.
Stay hungry was one of my first records i ever owned. I am incredibly moved by the health, and the sound on Dee and the band. Thank God, theres still a real heavy metal band from the era doing great in the 21st century.
I´ve enjoyed Twisted Sisters since i was 7 years old (1984) after i heard well i thought i heard I Wanna Rock, but it was we´re not gonna take it....i was hooked as was my dad, so i got the cassette Say hungry, then Come out and play......then way later age 14 i bought all albums on CD...still love ´em R.I.P A.J. Pero
They do a great job of bringing me straight back to 1983/84 in this concert. Same stage attire, Same type of set list, well rehearsed and that genuine energy from Dee & the 4 legends behind him. All these members are ORIGINAL!!!!!! For those that would care to wonder? And that's always a special trait with a rock band. Kids today dont care about that but I do. It matters. Otherwise I just dont get that same sense of belief that I'm reminiscent of such a long time ago. But this concert does that for me.
Twisted Sister is one of the best bands from the 80's. Together with Dio, Accept, Judas Priest, Iron Maiden, Saxon, Scorpions and Ozzy Osbourne. You Can't Stop Rock 'N' Roll & Stay Hungry are fuckin' awesome records!!!
Kevin Dunn Totally agree. The outfits were pretty much irrelevant to their appeal, which to me was great showmanship and some savage tracks - notably Under the Blade, Sin After Sin, Destroyer, Shoot'em Down, Tear It Loose, What You Don't Know and Like A Knife in the Back. I saw them in 1983 - they were the first proper live act I saw and they were incredible. RIP AJ Pero.
I can remember being so excited beforehand and boy what a gig. Still in my top 3. It was so so hot and sweaty my kiss t shirt took a week to dry out afterwards! Brilliant brilliant memories. Thanks for posting saves having to dig the DVD out
@@PopROCKSLive I hear you. It's definitely a commitment to eat good and exercise. Especially when you get older. I'm basing that on my own experience. I'm 57 and go to the gym before work. 😁
You are my idol from way back I am 50 years old and I used to walk around in northern Maine with a boombox on my shoulder cranking your music and a cassette tape lol you are the Arnold Schwarzenegger of good classic rock music that people actually have to play musical instruments and your voice is settling!
When I was five years old, Stay Hungry came out, my brother was 15. I can still remember putting that tape in, (We're not gonna take it was the reason why) but I always listened to the whole album. It was like a horror show to me. Hard riffs, and fast drums. I went through my grunge era, and some how ended up back here with this amazing metal! Priest, Maiden, Sister, and all the others that deserve respect! Metal with your balls to the wall!
you can really feel this music! every time i listen to an album i find my self head banging along and really into it but twisted sister are even better live!
I saw Twisted Sister as an opening act for Iron Maiden in Ottawa Canada on November 28th 1984. For those who where there... Dee promised us that if we where gonna be really really good tonight, he was going to change the name of this town... Ottawa was pretty good but it wasn't... it wasn't meeeeeeaaaaaaan enough. Do you remember what he was going to change the name of this town to? Do you remember the crowds parading on Bank street while chanting that name, walking on top of cars & vandalizing an OC Transpo bus? Who was there & can answer this question?
I first learned about twisted sister back in 83 when this cat and his sis moved to my town from south Texas and they introduced me to metal.. they introduced me to wasp, Metallica, slayer and iron maiden but the sis was gaga over TS and she played the "you can't stop" album for me and I really dug the hell out of it but she never showed me what they looked like until way later so I could be drawn to the music but I was blown away even more when I did see their appearance.. I got to see them live finally during stay hungry and still a fan.. they're music never gets old.. pure energy, pure rock n roll..RIP A.J
".. tell u what. these boys arent fucking around. just came aross this conert and its going straight into my playlist "full concerts". thank you for the upload, brother!.."
RIP AJ. I was shit scared of TS when I was a kid. I guess that was the point. I respect TS for being unpretentious and staying true to soul of metal. At the end of the day I guess I'm just an SMF!
i love the sisters... remember back in the days, that their records were so hard to find in german record shops... i bought some of the earliest outputs for over 80 dollars and more...
Dee is by far the best front man I've ever seen this guy totally sings like a front man front man's nowadays needs to take notes from dee his voice is so badass and still is
Saw them the same yr for the first time at a smaller but LOUDER venue in my home town of Philadelphia! It was one of the best and by far MOST FUN CONCERT I'VE EVER BEEN TO!!!! Snider hasn't missed a beat!!!! And thats saying alot considering all the shows/concerts I've been to and the people I've had the privilege of meeting. Not saying that Twisted Sister arent the shit cause they are BUT seeing them live just verified it!!!!
Twisted Sister was the first rock band I ever heard and has always been my favorite group. I would kill for a new TS album. Dee Snider has hinted at possibly a new one in the future. Fingers crossed. SMF Forever!
Your mom is wright. Back in the day it was the GIRLS who would beat up a guy if he started with Dee. I talked with Dee after a show one time for about an hour. He is a smart guy not full of himself like a lot of ROCK STARS.
