Anthony Ramos, a Hispanic man who grew up in affordable housing in Brooklyn with a father who struggled with substance abuse but has worked his arse off to get to where he is…and then you have Daisy. A privileged, white girl with a plummy posh accent who went to a private school (sadly like that of most British actors)whose father was/is in the entertainment industry (head of Sky Entertainment). I really wish nepotism wasn’t rife in the entertainment industry and there were less Daisy’s and more Anthony’s who have worked their arse off from humble beginnings versus launched into their career by Daddy.
Yes, she comes from a privileged background. But she is also incredibly talented. She got an agent through the National Youth Theatre, for which you audition to gain a place & for which kids from a variety of diverse backgrounds attend. She didn’t go to a prestigious drama school or University. She just auditioned & both got lucky, but also worked her arse off. No doubt having a family with privilege to help financially support you makes a huge difference, but please don’t deny the fact that she is also incredibly good at her job.
