Fun Fact: The average Twitter X user doesn't get 5M tweet impressions consistently - the requirement to be able to be accepted in their ad-sharing program, so no they aren`t paying you in a sense, it's just an effort to keep those large accounts from migrating away.

This seems to me very scammy. Give really famous people a bunch of money where no one understands the rules behind it, let them say things like "a Twitter blue subscription pays for itself", then get a whole bunch of desperate people who want to make a quick buck subscribe and pay Twitter in hope of getting paid, which they probably never will.

I've found instagram comments to be just as toxic as anywhere else. So much hate, arguing, fanboying, misinformation going around. Everytime I wonder what the comments say I have to remind myself to not check it.

Twitter recently drop engagement for everyone without blue check mark. I have small accounts with 5k followers. But I use to get some traffic, sometimes some comments and ok for my views total per post with couple of k. Now it's maybe 150 views if I'm lucky and 1 like per post.

The more i hear about this side of twitter the less interest i have in twitter. Like feeding me monetized trash content. I've very little interest in hearing that. Honestly I hate that. ideally i'd just have old instagram with just pictures, no ads, and seeing the people i follow. I don't care about people's opinions. Ijust want pictures.

Honestly, this is a shit deal considering both the requirements, the fact that you have to be part of their paid program and the crappie payout. To be blunt it's more about getting a lot of suckers to pay to be verified members while chasing a dream of making actual money on the site. You would be better off promoting affiliate links with your account and linking your account to subscribestar and ask for a small monthly donation.

I know it may not be 100% relevant to your audience, but have you discussed Canada’s new law that requires tech companies to compensate media organizations if they want to host Canadian news content on their platforms? It’s already happening on Meta apps (Facebook, Instagram) and Google says it rejects it.

I like Marques but there ain’t no way I’m paying $5 a month for just one creator’s tweets. I can’t imagine paying for Twitter Blue on top of paying individual creators.

Like everything else these days on Twitter, this is like some idea someone came up with and they just rolled it out, without thinking about it, without properly explaining it or thinking it through. I get it, free money is nice but there’s so many loose ends and question marks with this. Another lesson in the book “how to slowly destroy Twitter”
