Two 1981 Rock Classic Upgrades & A Deep Dive on "The Camera Eye" 

Mine is a 200gm 2015 reissue QRP pressing and it rocks!

Camera Eye is a fantastic Rush deep track.

I, too, am an Alka-Seltzer Plus enthusiast.

Good to hear you are feeling better! My 18 year old son is a drummer and loves Neal Peart. Rush is one band I listen to more due to the kid’s love for the band.

Tim killer find I have that same pressing I found at a boutiques clothing store in Milwaukee in the Bay View area for $14 and it’s VG ++ some years ago and a I have a Dutch pressing with the blue mercury label RL pressing The Camera Eye is tops for me too I saw them doing Moving Pictures live in 2011 on the Time Machine Tour love it Tim 🍻

Thanks Tim. The Camera Eye is my favorite Rush song. Being Genesis and Yes my favorite groups I was impressed with the Camera Eye when I heard the song back in 1981. I became a Rush fan because of The Camera Eye. I was fortunate to watch them live here in Toronto when they played Moving Pictures in its entirety. I have the Canadian - Anthem pressing in Near Mint condition both sleeve and record. It has Masterdisk RL on both sides. The outer and inner sleeves are printed in hard cardboard. Inner with red letters. I have the DMM more recent reissue but I prefer the Masterdisk RL. No doubt about it. The same thing that happened to you with Moving Pictures happened to me yesterday here in my local store but with Permanent Waves. I have the MoFi edition, the recent DMM and a Canadian pressing Anthem with Trident UK and Rays on the deadwax but both record and cover were on VG condition. Yesterday I found a NM condition of Permanent Waves (cover and record) with Trident UK and Rays on the deadwax. Very happy to find this edition in such a good condition. This is now my favorite copy of Permanent Waves.

Absolutely LOVELY score on both of those Tim! And NO! I don't want to hear about yet another record store opening up in Colorado!!! 🙄 The Rush album is probably one of THE greatest albums ever and the best sounding. Don't forget that the double RL can be found not only on US copies. I have a beautiful pristine 1st Dutch double RL pressing that sounds bloody amazing. What I do if the Ozzy is NOT a gatefold, I personally just leave the shrink completely intact and put it in a nice outer cover. The only time I actually remove the shrink and cut out the hype sticker is when it is a gatefold and you need to open up the album.

My Moving Pictures is a Keel RL Masterdisk in NM condition. Sounds amazing.

First ! Get better ! Being sick sucks. But you can heal up listening to music. I'm from Michigan too ! Metro Detroit area. Love Ann Arbor too...miss the scene. No record stores where I moved in Texas.

I have a 1st Canadian clean copy and it’s one of the best records I have in quality sound. It sounds really fresh. Loud and clean. I think that this is one could be one of the best editions of this album. ❤

When I find these shrink with hypes I keep in tact but still drop in the sleeve. I just added a near VG+ DOAM to my collection as well. And congrats beating me out on that Depehe Mode - Blasphemous Rumors 12” this weekend on Waxed auctions 😂 I did get the Depeche Behind The Wheel so was happy about that😊

Totally agree that the recent DMM Rush Pressings are not as good as the original MASTERDISK pressings.

Congrats on finding such great condition vinyl Tim. Every time Tom Sawyer plays I transport back in time to an old downtown warehouse where a friend’s band had a practice space and covered that song. I’m not a huge Rush fan but that is definitely my #1 from their catalog.

I have the double RL pressing from Holland and it’s even better than the US RL. The sound on the drums and synths are what make it better. Keep the shrink on Ozzy. I have a Columbia, NY pressing and it sounds amazing. People say the UK beats it. If so, that is saying something. Great video!

I've had "Moving Pictures" since its release and as many times I have heard and played side one I never tire of those four songs. Yes, R.B. , Limelight and T.S have been over played, but to suggest to play side two first is sacraledge to me. I have done that both with the album and CD and it just seems so ...wrong. Favorite songs...Xanadu, La Villa Strangiato, Losing It, Countdown and side ONE "Moving Pictures"!!

RL is magnificent however the German pressing beats it hands down.

Hey, just checked my copy. Both sides have MasterDisk on both sides but unfortunately only has RL on side one as far as I can see. (Sucks getting old lol) it seems to be a Keel pressing and. Would say the sleeve is Fair to maybe good. And the record. Think is VG to maybe VG plus

To me YYZ is better than Camera Eye Top 5 songs…hmm hard to do. Best albums for me A Farewell To Kings and 2112. Of course like Moving Pictures. But all the albums are great
