Someone is more veteran than Finn living in the Philippines😊😊😊. Kyle Jennerman or locals call him Kulas his been living there since 2012 or 2013 and he is now a naturalized Filipino citizen because Filipinos were rallying for him to get a citizenship. His RU-vid channel is Becoming Filipino where he immersed himself in the remotest places in the country and also promote the culture and food. He has also bought a property and built his house. He is Canadian and also a friend of Finn Snow they have a group called the Fighter (wine) boys. It's a local drink. And if the boys are together it is such a vibe and a chaotic one at that☺️

Houses are not strongly built near the coast lines so when it's battered by typhoons, they just rebuild them again and wait for another typhoon 😊.. Filipinos are very resilient, resourceful and adapt quickly😊

Yup, we call them Nipa hut houses❤. Typhoons or hurricanes are a part of our lives. With flooding and loss of electricity, we just roll with it. It's annoying, but hopefully, in the near future, we'll have improved with the rest of the world.

On how we build our homes? Weill most of us can't afford to build a concrete house specially in the Islands because it hard to deliver the materials. When typhoon comes it's worst everything is flattened or devastating specially if that region is the eye of the typhoon. But it's not new to Filipinos labelled as resilient and always find ways to get up and smile.

I’m sooo glad you found finnsnow. A great guy. He used to have a certain allergy that he had not had in the Philippines that’s one of the reasons he had considered when choosing a place to stay. They had a painful experience before but I pray that one day they’ll have a kid of their own. I think this video was done before his adventure in TUBBATAHA and before his boat was finished. Check that out too. Best thing about his video, he does not sugarcoat. I lived in Los Angeles for 20+ years and America is beautiful, no doubt about it...But the Philippines is MORE Beautiful... And you got only two humongous coast lines, while we got 7000+ Coastlines... Too bad you granted us our indepenence in 1946, huh... :-)

About the typhoons/hurricanes in the Philippines always start up at the baboyan island thats what they called it, in Mindanao, and vizayas always affected Cebu/palawan/Siargao/ is located in vizayas, majority of the small houses get destroyed or easily get flooded, but houses that was on a higher ground are safe, and houses in the Philippines are built different unlike in the US they use wood and drywall, in the Philippines they use rivets, hollow blocks ,cements for a stronger wall even the foundation if it is necessary and digging in a deeper hole for the bathroom toilet

I started watching fin during pandemic bc I missed my native land & I was so amazed by his vlog bc I didn’t get a chance to go to where he went. I only stay in luzon in my 30yrs there😂 I know his gf is filipina & he really enjoys his stay in Pinas. Glad you found him. There were other guys with him before. Additional info about my beautiful Country? Lots and lots of foreigners from different place in the world are they just come in the Philippines just for vacation but then they all in love to this country, until now they lived their forever specially those who retired they spend their lives there. 15:45 Typhoons are frequent visitors in the Philippines. Life, especially on the coastal areas is really tough during a strong typhoon. Even concrete houses suffer damages during the strongest typhoon signal. But Filipinos are resilient. We build everything and restart again.

Caramoan was the site of the popular reality show, Survivor. It was Survivor 26 I think. The previous season Survivor 25 was also held in the Philippine Islands, and that season was so good it's widely regarded as the Season that saved Survivor from being cancelled. After Survivor 25, the next 3 Survivor editions were held in the Philippines because of the beautiful islands here and the cooperation of the locals in helping with the preparations of the events.

oh well, that's his 2019 top 10 vlog... his 2020 top 10 vlog, Coron became #2 and the islands of Batanes province became his #1... check that out... as regards typhoon in PH, we Filipinos are used to it already... in a year typhoons sometimes reached up to letter W of the alphabet as we named our typhoons (usually girl's name) starting with letter "A".. typhoon category in PH is categorized by wind speed and is assigned a signal number, like Signal #1 if its not strong... we will be worried if the category is super typhoon... that's why we usually build our house that will withstand several typhoons

Funnily enough there isn’t much of tsunami in the Philippines as far as I know, the last Tsunami that I know of is back in 2011. Typhoons however BWAHAHAHAHAHAHA! I was literally born in the month of Typhoon season, Filipinos are so used to it, some are literally swimming in flood areas (I did so often when I was a kid, I even cried to my grandparents to let me) anyways, we’re so used to it we built so much resilience in life. For the houses we have typhoon resistant roofs.

Also you might want to check the other members of the Fighter Boys members 1. BECOMING FILIPINO by Kyle Jennermann 2. BRET MAVERICK 3. FEARLESS AND FAR by Mike Corey 4. DANIEL MARSH Kyle Jennermann or Kulas is the one travelling all over the Philippines literally from the northern most part Batanes and he is now residing in Cateel Davao Oriental. He was given Filipino Citizenship through a bill in the Congress because of his big contribution of promoting not just the places but the different ethnicity

The houses built on the seashore usually are the Badjao tribes, we call them Sea Gypsies. But there are fishing villages like that on Southern part of the Philippines.

Most houses here are built with cement to withstand typhoons. My dad told me that if I'd like to buy a house by the beach, I should choose a location where there's a nearby island, especially if you can see that other island across your land. Because those places rarely have tsunamis. There's a British family vlogger that lives in Siargao. The channel name is 8 Miles From Home. They are living in Siargao ever since they got stuck during the pandemic, and never relocated. They did a vlog during one of the nastiest typhoons to hit Siargao in 2021 - Typhoon Odette. They experienced first hand how the Filipinos handle the aftermath.

Really interesting how so many westerners are now wanting to come to Asia, some even choosing to live here, when before it's just Asians (esp. Filipinos) wanting to go and live in western countries. It sometimes feels to me like the world has been turned upside down almost. I think it's largely due to the internet and vloggers showing all these amazing places here that even we Filipinos didn't even know about. And yeah, i've been to Boracay when i was very young, and while i found it stunningly beautiful, i thought at the time that maybe there are even more beautiful beaches in other countries. But it's only the last few years when i realized it's actually one of the most beautiful in the world. So yeah, i'm thankful to vloggers for making me realize how beautiful our country actually is. And btw, we also won World's Leading Beach Destination and Dive Destination in the World Travel Awards 2022 and 2023. :)

Well it’s all that and also our dollar goes further, western world has fallen into complete lawlessness and chaos. There’s zero healthcare for citizens and the crime rates are unreal. I also despise the USA because they are the biggest bullies of the world. Always hurting other countries and innocent people for their own monetary gain. Hey, fellow American here. Born and raised in the Philippines. What Finn has shown in this older video are only the places accessible to YOU. As in un-escorted civilians, not just foreigners. 1/3 of the Philippines are still inaccessible to visitors for various safety reasons. Which is why I kinda disagree with my friend Finn when he mentioned one of his top 3 islands as the “last frontier” in the country. Ohhh, no. Not even close-- I’ve been to the inaccessible 1/3 I mentioned above by virtue of my work there. THAT is truly the LAST frontier in the Philippines-- and they are even more majestic than what is currently publicly known. Let me know when you’re heading there. I’ll try to hook you up.

When big typhoons come those who live in the affected areas are evacuated to higher grounds where schools, gyms, ect. are assigned as tempprary shelter for them (evacuation centers). Tsunamis are uncommon here actually, maybe once in a blue moon in a handful of the island provinces facing the Pacific ocean. It's commonly known as tidal wave to locals🙂

Of all the islands that I have visited in the Philippines, my top 3 would be 1.Coron, Palawan 2.El Nido, Palawan 3.Siquijor. Like Finn Snow, i also prefer Coron over El Nido because it has more island vibes there and my favorite is Malcapuya island. I never been to Siargao and Balabac, Palawan so I didn’t include those islands. Been to Boracay 3 times and it’s very touristy. 22:00 Palawan is the only province in the Philippines which has no fault lines and it’s the safest place when it comes to earthquakes.

I’m glad you reacted Finns snow one of my favorite blogger and Becoming Pilipino Kyle Jenner this two guys travel most of the Philippines islands and remote part of the country and 8miles from home who visited Philippines before pandemic got caught,can’t leave ended up living and raising there daughter in Philippines until now .

Filipinos learned to build a house by only using a shovels and digging bar. And if you have a big family they will helped each other or even neighbours will do as well.

These are all islands and water. You should also have some videos showcasing Batanes Island, “Marlboro Hills” in Masbate. Lake Sebu in Mindanao and endless mountain ranges. Coron is nothing to Amanpulo and that’s already his #1. I will never tire of saying that PH is one of the most beautiful places on Earth. It’s just that those who share their stories on social only get to visit the tourist-y spots and a few non-touristy spots. Most beautiful for me is South Africa, but since I dont live there and I love my country, I hope you get to visit the country.

I remember watching a post from a British couple named 800 miles from home who lived in Siargao and that their house was destroyed by the typhoon. The locals of Siargao helped to rebuilt their home in a much bigger and stronger ones. In times of dire situations, the welcoming and helpful hands of filipinos always been there for you. No wonder why foreigners choose to live in the country.

Balabac, Palawan is already near Malaysia. Yes army checkpoints. We are escorted by marines when we get there for our medical mission. True powdery sand, pink, water is crystal clear. Balabac is a Muslim area. Coron😘 👌 He didn't mention Port Barton also the best.

Philippines Houses are Cement that will for sure stand typhoons over and over or a combinations of nepa hut, bamboo, and coconut leaf and trunks that are cheap and can be easily rebuild.

Yes, Finn Snow has a Filipina gf and lives together in the seaside town of Dauin, Negros Oriental, several kilometers away from Dumaguete city. They unfortunately lost their baby - in the womb - last year. He is an excellent underwater videographer and an avid diver who has explored some of the best diving spots in the country including the Tubbataha marine sanctuary and coral reef. Hope you can make a reaction about his trip there. It is beyond amazing. He has also finished the construction of his yacht - forgot the name of it - which he hopes to explore the country more with. He's one of the most beloved content creator in the country.

Hi D&J,local filipinos when they built houses mostly don't have machine to used just a hard work, and if you built a house in the Philippines built in concrete even you live in inland or island so if there's hurricane arrives your house still okay,a lot cheaper to built a concrete house in the Philippines compare here in the usa😊

my friends and I have booked a flight to Balabac Island. However, when we learned that wwe would be spending about 12-15k pesos in our 3-4 days stay, we kind of chickened out specially since we have to consider the 4-7 hour travel time , you know the transfers and the tiring trip to and from Balabac, But seeing this video, I think we should push through with our Balabac trip. If staring to someone is Rude in other countries but not in the Philippines. When Filipino people stares at you, it means they are curious and excited to know about you and wanted to be friends with you. Philippines marine life is biodiverse they say there are still some marine species that they haven’t named yet because it is too peculiar that is why many countries have tried to colonized it because it is rich with natural resources both by land and by water..some believed Philippines was the Garden of Eden…foreigners who are experiencing mental depression mysteriously Philippines specially the country side helped them become happy..we do have a lot of volcanoes and that’s why I thought I don’t like volcanoes because it’s not safe for people to lived in but the great thing about volcanoes is that the land becomes very healthy to farm ,all the minerals essential for human life is there specially after the volcanoes erupted.

My beautiful country Philippines how i wish i could also visit those beautiful island with my family, we live in phils but sad to say we are not able to discover those island coz everytime were focused working and earnings money for the kids to support thier studies, but maybe someday haha i only visit boracay and sicogon island before which is near were we live in the province😊❤

Luckily, we have not experienced tsunamis since the recent earthquakes here in the Philippines. Still, people living in tsunami-prone areas somehow know what to do in this kind of event, and with the help of the local government, they evacuate right away.

I really suggest you should try Dinagat Islands because it's like the virgin version of Palawan there's even a lake on top of a mountain, you can find a lot of beaches and lagoons.

6:56 Taytay or The municipal of Taytay is in the North part of Palawan also called Estrella del Norte by us taytayanos, the structure you see behind Finn Snow is called ”Fuerza Santa Isabel de la Paragua" or ”Fort Santa Isabel " in honor of Spain's Queen Isabela II, used as a defensive structure of the Spaniards against Muslim raiders. Anyways, Taytay has a lot of natural tourist spots like Beaches, falls and beautiful Islands (including the Island where I grew up with😊) even though some places in Taytay is still not very known the locals spend their vacations on these tourist spots, 7:34 this place is called Pavilion by the locals , Taytay is close to El Nido so you won't have a hard time traveling from Taytay to El Nido.
