Well I was not expecting things to go down THAT route. Huh. Monty really has a talent for subverting expectations in the best way. This is the stuff that makes this series so bingeable.
I'm at 2:09:16 this had mind control written all over it. I knew they got to Remmy when he said that they could survive in the village. I am pretty sure it happened around when they entered. If it was sooner then they had him in deep cover. I for a moment though about how he was a bit more pushy in the water plane, but he conducted many moves that helped protect including the potion into Panic. My bet is on around when they entered the village but idk. Let's see. Also I'm home from work for the day.
Montey:"You are under a spell" Me: I knew it but it can't be that bad Montey: "it is a domination spell " Me: "okay it's getting worse but at least we still have renmy" Montey:"thanks for the help renmy" Me: no! Nnoo! No! No! Nnoooo!
2:11:18 not going to lie that upsets me a bit, he was looking at his allies and he was looking at the other earth genasi that where possible under dominate person, since the spell says that he can see a faint aura around any visible creature or object in the area that bears magic, and you learn its school of magic, if any. Meaning he could see the enchantment magic on remy and any earth genasi under the spell Also for the multiple times panic used detect magic and saw his allies I think he would be smart enough to notice “hey there’s one extra school of magic that wasn’t there before on remy” I love the series, and I love Monty’s story telling but this really bothers me.
Welcome to Pi's Nit-Picks where for personal reasons I go through new episodes of The Unexpectables and nit-pick it of any instance where how they play and RAW don't line up in a cinemasins-esque manner. Spoiler alert: because of how this works, I might have to go into spoiler territory but I'll try to be subtle about it. Disclaimer: I am not telling anyone how to play dungeons & dragons. It's their game, not mine. These are not criticisms, these are nit-picks. I’m not trying to antagonize anyone, I’m a fan just like you. Nit-Picks: 1:50:50 : Task wouldn’t have to expend more than one spell slot for primeval awareness, as you don’t need to specify which type of creature you’re searching for, you simply detect if there are any creatures of the listed type within range. 2:44:05 : When in a contest that ties, The Unexpectables use the rule of thumb “aggressor wins” to resolve them while RAW states that “If [a] contest results in a tie, the situation remains the same as it was before the contest.” Under RAW Panic would’ve remained hidden. Also, bird sus.
I know I'm late replying to this but I'm trying to finally catch up with this campaign so I can move on to the next And I have to ask in the second point of your comment you brought up that they rule it as aggressor wins if that's the case why even bring up raw when it clearly doesn't apply
Because some people need something to complain about. I keep seeing these "nit-picks" and it just feels more like someone complaining because they don't have creative or unique ways to change how the game is played. This person is so stuck on the rules that (at least it appears) they fail to realize rules are just guidelines for the DM to follow and does not have to be followed to a T and can be chaged. D&D is about having fun and enjoying a good story with your friends not assaulting them with lists of what they do wrong and what's not in the book otherwise the one who posted this needs to edit in all the bonus action potions as that's not an "official rule" be their standards. We all have fun not being completely restrained to every little official rule and every DM should aim for a fun and enjoyable experience for all players not constrict players from exploring new and creative ways to get past problems because the dm wont allow bros to dual cast fireball and and dual cast teleport for 2 instant sniper shots or any other creative cool things.
I'm also pretty sure this is the person Edward Bosco keeps calling out in videos when he talks about certain RU-vid comments trying to be the rule police.
This is a very illuminating comment! I had no idea that I could be perceived in such a reductive manner, do you have any advice on how I could portray myself in a more positive and flexible light?
