I love that you remembered to make Caleb without a gap in his teeth and that you remembered to make sure the first grimwalker didn't look too much like Hunter.
Irony. Philip is the most cruel and inhuman character in the series, but it was his story that touched people's hearts and inspired them to creativity.
0:26 the foreshadowing with the fake sword pointed at caleb.. and the transition from starry-eyed child philip to horrified "betrayed" philip at 2:10.. hoo flapjack passing overhead, the shot of caleb hyperventilating and looking for an escape.. ough the childhood flashback with the blood on his hands hit good the whole end portion with the knife fight and evelyn finding the body and aughhh this is so good op i am obsessed
Tbf at least in this Caleb leaves his younger brother, who is NOT old enough to take care of himself and is heavily dependent on him, in gravesfield with a bunch of extremists It’s no mystery on how he concludes that Caleb was bewitched, because that’s so much easier to accept than his brother choosing to abandon him for a woman, a witch no less
The scene with the witch trial is just *chilling,* it's really very freaky because they're both just children trying to fit in but these seemingly sweet and innocent children are contributing to something so evil for the sake of being like the other townsfolk. It's kind of scary to think of, the whole story of the Wittebane brothers is just really subtly creepy and horrifying. Great animatic!
the terrifying thing of belos is not only what he ha done, but also the tragic irony of his story. At the end of the day, his story is of a human that so cling of what he think was right that it's became his hubris and his downfall. I adore this animatic as it portrayed Phillip in more human like, as his obsession of witch hunt came and was part of Caleb fault. Everything he did in owl house there after the murder of his own brother is another tale of "no going back" , its tragic and irony. Human and insanity.
All of this video is absolutely amazing, but the whole fight scene until Caleb's wife casts her spell is especially so !!!!! Stunning job !!!! I love this aaaa

@@stan_the_voice they already revealed that Philip was an orphan, hates witches because he was raised in a witch-hunting society, kept the mask Caleb made him, kept Caleb’s jacket for hundreds of years in good condition, is haunted by the memory of him killing and cloning Caleb, looked up to Caleb and had a strong relationship relationship as a child and young adult (the Hollow Mind paintings imply it), and that he originally went to the Boiling Isles to save Caleb and catch Evelyn while under the belief that Evelyn kidnapped Caleb, before finding out the truth and killing Caleb.

@@ThatClamWiam Yeah. As kids Philip is characterized as the bird who wants to fly away while Caleb is the reluctant one want to stay in place. Caleb seems to only half heartedly believe the hatred against witches he's teaching his brother, but still endorses the viewpoint for the sake of safety and conformity. But at 2:12 the bird on the wire lyrics appear when Philip is on screen. He's holding onto the beliefs Caleb taught him and we all know what happens after that

I really hope we get a graphic novel at some point that gives us a firm backstory for Phillip and Caleb like this. Even characters like Belos can have emotional backstories.
I still love how Flapjack proved that he was with Caleb. From the moment he gave the name Caleb to Hunter when he needed to come up with a name, I could tell that FlapJack was most likely originally with Caleb.

I have to say… This is one of the best brother backstories I have ever seen! The tension of the younger brother and the love of the older brother!! This animatic describes it PERFECTLY!!
One thing I like about there designs is how while Caleb barley change in a looks Philip completely changed his looks and while this is often use to so character growth when changing looks and keeping looks show the character not changing in this case Caleb only made a small change and that was his view on witches other wise he’s still his kind self Philip change for the worst not even resembling his younger self anymore it’s a small thing but I love the details

Because of this animatic and a few others I am now obsessed with the idea that Caleb had the chance to kill his brother but backed down because he's actually a good person- this makes this story even darker and more traumatic than it already was 🥲
It's an absolutely amazing video! Wonderful work! But from the begining I already wanted to cry, I have finished The Owl House and just rewatched Hollow Mind and I was used to already watching videos with this audio have sad endings, and the fact that I already knew how it would end and the fact I still wanted to cry because of Hollow Mind before seeing this video makes it so much more emotional. Here's a list of what I mean -I already watched TOH and just watched Hollow Mind again and wanted to cry -Any videos with this sound that I've seen have had sad endings -I also know the main part of how Caleb and Philip's story ends

I loved the owl house. It was an amazing show! I just wish they were given the rest of the third season, so that they could explore Belos’ history a little more. I felt like there was so much to reveal about him, and then do to lack of time he was just shuffled in from being a really well written character to being your average pure evil bad guy. I am glad they got a few episodes to hint at his past. I just wish it could have been completed. And honestly I think the animac that you did for this song works perfectly for what a Belos based backstory would look like. Great job!
