My gosh, high school melodramas always age gloriously. No matter which decade their from. They come in so many flavors as well. You got the edgier more adult Skins, the comedic and juvenile Zoey 101, the classic My So-Called Life. The generation of these shows that popped up in my teen years didn’t really interested me at the time. But recently I have been thinking to go back and check some of them out as a fun experiment. Also I don’t know if Freaks and Geeks counts as one of these shows but it is excellent.
All great ones you mentioned! I'd say Freaks and Geeks fits with the coming of age awkward high school nature of these shows. They really pack a whole lot into the high school years for these types of shows
I watched this show during its original run. I’m actually about the same age as Emma/Manny/Toby/JT. I was obsessed with this show until I went away to college in 2007. Thank you for reviewing such a nostalgic show for me!
People had computers in their homes in the early 90's and got internet due to windows in the mid 90's but the new thing for the early 2000's was online chatting and pedophiles and keeping kids safe which is really what the episode touched on...
I'm always sad when no one reviews the original Degrassi series! I'm "of a certain age," and I basically grew up with the original group, and I remember how shocking the Degrassi: School's Out finale was. And part of me still holds out for a reboot...I did the math, and Emma and Spinner got married in 2009, about 14 years ago. If they'd had a kid right away, they would be just about ready to start high school as of the 2024-2025 season...Degrassi: Legacy!
I also love the original series and agree the finale was shocking! Unfortunately I think the reboot has been cancelled for now but I'm holding out hope for more Degrassi
@pineappleandlemon True, apparently HBO is getting rid of their youth programming, so the announced reboot was cancelled. I can still dream. And there's always fanfiction!
I’m from the US & My high school ten year reunion is coming up in a couple months and honestly it’s up to the school and your years student council members. My class student council goes above and beyond so they definitely have plans for a reunion. I know this was posted a year ago but I always wondered the same. I grew up devouring Degrassi every day after school. Love yalls video 💛✨
It can vary so much between schools, so that's great to hear they are doing something for yours. Thanks so much for watching it means a lot to us to hear people enjoying the same shows as us!
my cousin and I binged this whole show after I got him onboard after jumping in at season 6 myself, before season 7 when Emmas class graduated. great memories. cant wait to see if yall react to more!
@@pineappleandlemon bit sad the cut scene of Wheels Apologizing to Lucy was removed form the US version of episode 1 of TNG and seemingly unavailable on Physical Release.
@@pineappleandlemon yeah I was lost on Manny's pregnancy until I bought the DVD's. hopefully the reboot gets enough attention we get Blu Rays with stuff added back, wishful thinking I know.
Great video about Degrassi Y'all should do like a retrospective of the show if y'all would like to do a review of all the seasons and all the characters as well too if y'all want to but I love Degrassi I've been watching Degrassi for years 😊
Well actually I watch the whole thing up to season 9 in summer of July 2019 but when I seen the episode list for rest of seasons I'd stop it's wired a 33 year old man watching the show 😂 but I had to finally watch it to see what the big deal about it was. I'm from Hamilton raised in Canada but how I missed this show I have no clue
