Two Completed Dreamer Designs Diamond Paintings! Post Review

I do have issues with DD renderings are several paintings. I don’t know if it is computer generated or hand charted, but it is definitely different. I started my first painting from them last fall, a square as well, “The Colors of Life”, and I’ve yet to finish it. It’s not awful awful, but after starting a DAC square for the first time in March, I felt their drills fit together much better together verses DD. I was also running into pitted holes on the drills.

I'm doing my first DD painting now - and I really think if you like less of a confetti look, it's all in the design you choose. I'm doing "Floral Fantasy" from Alan Giana and the colors are so gradient and beautiful. It almost looks real. I agree that a watercolor design is probably going to blur more - and if you don't like that, best to choose something else. I'm with you - the confetti would make me a little nuts.

Yes this was very helpful because I want to buy a few paintings and I can't wait to see the chuck pinson one I love his work and want to buy his work

Wow that 2nd one confetti nightmare no thanks. I definitely know what you are saying about diamond dotz I have done 8 of them. Doing my 1st diamond dotz at home right now.

I'm not sure how I feel about either of these. They are too confetti heavy for me but if I had to choose between I would go for the first one. At least you know what you are looking at.

I'm working on a Dreamer Design now, Rainbow Rose and so far it beautiful, it's a small one but i love it.

I saw the same thing when looking for something to get from Dreamer Designs. I love landscapes but I haven’t seen good looking trees or flowers! I’ll keep looking, thanks for sharing

Liked the second DP much more - looks impressionistic, very pretty

Both are beautiful. Maybe one day I will feel comfortable working on a bigger canvas

I’m new to diamond painting. I appreciate your explanation about rendering. It’s starting to make sense. I often think the paintings by Kurtis Rykovich look washed out on the website. Maybe they look better in real life or maybe it’s a rendering issue. His colors are gorgeous, but the end result seems distortedly pale and flimsy. I wish they were more rich and vibrant (especially the hair)!

I had that problem with Dreamers Design blurry canvas and the symbols were hard to make out . This is why I won't buy from them . They wouldn't do any thing for me except they sent me a digital printing and I use my cell phone so that was no help. So im done with them. It was sledding to town by chuck pinson. Bad rendering to..

The canvas is quite beautiful outside. Not so much inside. I have still not done a dreamer designs canvas. Everything I have seen still is not to my liking. Great job Racheal. You describe these so perfectly. Thank you

I finished chuck pinsons “colors of life” from them and I loved it! Then I worked on “portals of the past” and it was very dimly printed I had to put it away for a while!

I am currently working on The Boat House from Dreamer Designs. The image reminds me of home, I am from Massachusetts but currently live far from the ocean. I have found you do have to be very far away from the canvas to see it best.

Hello Rachel, James and Miss Luna 💖🤗, when you held both outside the look amazing! I haven't tried Dreamer Designs yet. Not sure why🤔. I do like their paintings. I definitely would remove those yellow stripes or whatever they are supposed to be. I'm DP right now and looked up to see the painting and they were right there in my face. I have just started on a Dreamer Designs canvas…Monarch Madness by David Galchutt. I love his artwork and bought 3 of his from DD. I totally agree with you on the symbols. They are confusing. And there is gaping with the square drills which I was not expecting. But I love the sparkle of the drills and the colors are gorgeous!

i really love how DD rendered Ann Marie Bone's paintings... Althoughi agree that the details require that it be rendered into bigger canvas for more realistic picture

Currently working on flamingo falls from DD, have reverie in my stash and I will be doing it next! Haven't had a problem with the one I'm working on now - im halfway done! - but when I get on to reverie I will be swapping out those yellow lines on the right for sure!

I would really love these if they weren't such gaudy colors. Is there any way you can order the drills separately and pick the colors you want? I used to design needlework projects, and I could easily pick the DMC colors I wanted. If you have more than 26 colors, I don't know how you would get more letters for 50 colors. Using lowercase letters would be one thing, and also using numbers. But how would you tell the small case Bs from the sixes? I think they have their work cut out for them on the symbols. I didn't like those AB beads either. It just looks simply as if they ran out of the regular beads and picked some from a totally different kit and stuck them in there. Still, I love their designs and appreciate so much that you take the time to tell us all about what you liked and didn't like. Some of the things you pointed out would have driven me nuts later on, but I might not have noticed them at the time. Thanks so much! Rachel I agree with everything you said in this video. I have been working on one of Dreamers Design for about 3 months and the symbols get to me after awhile. A B C the dang things

I just ordered 3 DPs from DD & Dreams of Elysium is one of them. Hopefully can reach me in a next few days... Another one is Alpine Spring. After seeing the review, I'm afraid need to see from far then can make up the paintings after put on the drills.

I keep coming back to this one and altho at first I agreed about the odd yellow in the tree the more I look at it it's a wierd break in the trees where you can see thru to other side still I woulda went with green

Love the paintings from Ann Marie Bone. Just love them 😍. But a lot of confetti, i do not know if i am ready for it 😅

I have to say, that I was more challenged by the symbols on DAC Sleeping Fox. Some were so similar. I'm doing a 60x60 round drill Patio For Two from Dreamer Designs and it is so pleasurable to do. The DP looks beautiful, but nothing will have the finished effect that a DAC has, but nothing ever will. That said, I'm enjoying working on Dreamer way more than the DAC.No problems what so ever with Patio For Two, but there were several ongoing problems with the particular DAC that I mentioned. I think that Dreamer Design is doing an excellent job and is a really nice experience. I personally would never choose the 2nd painting that Rachel showed because there is too much confetti and I would expect it to turn out the way it did.

I've done one DD painting...Chuck Pinson's Isle of Palms.

I’m working on English Garden with Trellis from DD and it’s definitely very confetti heavy but frankly I don’t mind at all! It also has colourblocking sections and I tend to get bored with those :D anyway, I find I have HUGE amounts of trash drills and have run out of one colour, but I’m sure DD will send me more diamonds when I contact them (once I know I don’t need any other colours). The gapping is also a bit frustrating. But despite all this I actually really enjoy working on the painting and it is honestly a very beautiful DP. Oh and the symbols don’t bother me at all, even when working sideways - like you said, you get used to them quickly. I also have Dreams of Elysiumin my stash, I’m very much looking forward to working on that one! Interestingly, I remember unboxing both and thinking that the canvas for DoE is a bit different than EGwT, I’ll have to see how they compare once I start working on it.

I see that this video is a year old. I just purchased my very first Dreamer Design kit (Feb. 3, 2023). I hope it turns out ok.🤞

I did dreams of elysium too and I agree. A bit confetti heavy and i found it not very clear the whole image after completed. I did give it to my mother for a housewarming present and she loves it though

Is the canvas fraying? I saw that some ppl complained about that before but i havent seen if that was fixed ij version 2 or now in 2022.

With the AB drills I had the same 'problem'. I had a painting from them and the biggest color was a White AB and most of it was in patches in the background so it was not an accent anymore. But you're paintings do look good.

The only DD I've completed is "Peaceful Evening" by Liam Kelly and it's an older one when oversaturation if colors was an issue for them. Despite this, the final product was very nice and I enjoyed working on it! Thanks for this review... I didn't really care for either of these two kits, they just look like random colors all jumbled together. But, that's just my opinion. 💕💕 xx

I have done a DD. While the painting itself was great, the tackiness of the adhesive was lacking. There were several spots on the painting itself that I had to apply my own adhesive to in order to make the drills stick. There were a couple of diamond colors that were running low, but I was able to complete the painting.

I haven't done a dreamer designs yet, but I'm hoping the Luna Lovegood one qualifies for drills and chills because I will be doing it then!

Thank you for the run down. I found the original designs too colourful but these seem bright but not over the top. I like the first one and have put it on my wish list.

Its very pretty. But alot of confetti and the markings 🤦‍♀️ My eyes would be quite tired from that The symbols would be a challenge ,had an other painting it was quite confusing . The other one nice but prefer 1 st one. Great video thank you for sharing 🥰

Which sealer would you recommend for AB drills, I use Mod Podge most of the time

I got my first dreamer designs just a week ago and have started it. Yes there is a lot of tapping of the drills. I do not like the texture of the canvas and I found that it wasn't as sticky as it should be. The symbols I have r very hard to read. Drills have been pretty good. I have put off getting one of these because most of the time I don't like how they render them. I feel that the colors r too saturated. So I'm anxious to finish it and see how it looks. Thx for sharing.

Is there any reason why I couldn’t replace drills? Any reason to keep it original?

I agree with symbols the ones that drive me crazy are ∆ and if you work upside down like I do on bigger canvases I wish all the companies would get rid of these symbols go with letters and numbers

Those are beautiful designs but they do look really confetti heavy. I am going to buy a stackable storage system because I am working on a Chuck Pinson and a stackable would be really nice.

I agree with you, they are a bit pixaleded. And that is a shame, because these are paintings that i would love to daimond paint and i wish DAC had more of this kind of paintings.

I'm working on Smooth Sailing by Michael Humphries and it has a lighthouse and coastline. I was lucky enough to win one and that's the one I chose because I live on an island and it will go well in my home. I have been away from diamond painting for a while and have been really into cross stitching HAED designs so I haven't really been inspired to stick with my diamond painting but when I get bored of cross stitching I go to do some work on it. The only thing I don't care for in this kit in particular is that there seems to be a lot of drills that are concave on the back but there seems to be lots of drills in each colour so I don't really think I'll run out. The one thing I find with DD is they don't really seem to blend colours well... it might just be me but that's what I find. When I was trying to pick a picture to choose there weren't a lot that appealed to me. I guess my tastes have changed since doing HAEDS because they are so realistic.

Awesome review Rachael!!! I just started my first DD and Reverie...I too was drawn to the colors. Very helpful review. Think this last printing (June 2021) of Reverie the symbols have been improved..there are 20 letters and arrows all have different colored backgrounds which will make it easier..797 is now a very clear letter J on purple background. I am going to switch some of the sky AB to Glow in the Dark like Brandi did and reviewed. I hope my apartment is big enough to get enough distance when it is hung up..😁 I prefer confetti to color blocking so think I will enjoy these from DD as I have 6 now in my Stash..😂💜💎💜

Theses images are still too supersaturated for my liking. It hurts my head. I love the images, but not the rendering so much. Thank James for the outside display 😂

The path could have been lighter . The path isn't as clear as in the original

I far prefer the Elysium one, the confettified rendering works well with that one. Looks good quality too.

The "flower" area and some of the dark colors on the right side just look like color vomit. Pretty colors, but they don't look like flowers.

It’s so busy. The confetti would be a turn off for me.

My box came COMPLETELY crushed and bent in half, lol. They didn't seem to care. Terrible first impression along with other issues. Likely not going to buy from them again. 2023.. it got worse.

Yikes! Too much confetti for me!

The first one was very pretty! However, the second one looked bad. The flowers were a blur, and the water isn’t as pretty as the original picture....which ruins the DP in my opinion. It just looks like a mess.

Definitely not my idea of a beautiful Diamond Painting….colours too muddled
