I stripped the electronics out of some of these Aruns before they left poole circa 2003-2004. I think two went to China and one went to the Faroe Islands. I can't recall where others went. It's sad to see two of them are still homeless and missing their beautiful orange gelcoats.
John C Hi there are issues with keeping the original livery, without getting too complex it’s similar to owning an ex police car, they are concerned that it could be misused by unscrupulous people, sad isn’t it
Irish Mist was originally mine from Holyhead. I bought her back in 1999 when she was the former Rosslaire AWLB St. Brendan. Sold her afew years ago when we moved to the Azores
"52-18" is for sale in New Zealand, apparently still in duty spec. The lifeboat is what I want for domestic duties... so I'd have to wait until one that has already been modified came along such as 1 of the two in the video. If you wanted to see *this* boat go to TradeMe.co.nz and search for Arun Lifeboat, you'd see it. The photos are a little small. But still awesome! I am not connected or know the sellers in any way. I'm just following up on a mad idea I've got in my head.
@@mikejohnson4686 That's great to hear. I was one of the owners of Irish Mist and had many a pleasurable time converting her and operating her as a dive boat until like most group syndicates disagreements brought her to a holt. But glad to hear she is now being but to good use again
