Careful. Saying hurtful things about people may get you in court. Just look at what happened to Mr Belfield when he crossed a BBC 2 wheeled broadcaster. Interestingly, a certain BBC personality is under investigation with HMRC for IR 35 reasons. Seems to be linked with a company called 'Jelly Vine Productions Ltd' The above is just the latest BBC 'personality to be investigated over tax affairs.
Yup.. I think that's why it annoys me. If not for the dashcam, had the rider come off, both drivers would likely have taken the blame and both of us would have had to dip into our pockets for compo and/or repairs to our cars.
Bicycle riders on the street provide some great opportunities to issue citations. They want the right to use the roads but I catch them constantly breaking laws governing the usage of those roads. One biggie is they will ride thru a stop sign controlled intersections or even red lights without even trying to slow down. The common answer is that they use “clips” (devices attached to their shoes that mate with a holding device on the pedals) and they don’t want to stop and disconnect one or both. 🤨
Good and bad from cars and cyclists I was driven into by a car all because I had to move over to avoid a large pot hole the driver took offence because I held him up for thirty seconds
@@Rumouruk I’m a cyclist and a driver . Trust me I’ve nearly been killed far more times off drivers of cars who don’t give you space or almost take your legs off. I’ve drove for 15 years and never had one accident as I’m a good driver. This guy on the bike doesn’t have a helmet or fuck all probably doesn’t even know you have to signal or he was drunk and didn’t give a fuck

The problems stem from people being allowed out on a road on a bicycle with absolutely NO training whatsoever. All these bad habits will be perpetuated in their driving (if they bother to get a licence.....).

That doesn't prevent car drivers from driving dangerously so why would it do it for bikes? Bad car drivers are far more dangerous than bike riders. I use both and walk as well and have nearly been killed by bad car drivers both walking and cycling. Have also had near misses with cyclists but am pretty sure I would have survived those.
Two flying bombs on two wheels nearly knocked me over in central london. Crossing the road, looking to my right traffic lights red for stop. Avoided cyclist jumping light to my right, then looked left as another cyclist jumping red to my left. It's just another dangerous pedestrian situation in Kahnistan.
The silver lining is that the problem should eventually resolve itself via natural selection but it will be tough for the martyrs who have to suffer the consequences of removing the miscreants unsatisfactory genes from the pool. Running over dumb animals is quite distressing after all. We motorcyclists have to take all responsibility for our safety because we know we can’t lump our safety on the overworked drivers shoulders. 😢
Just needs 2 rule changes, 1. No cyclists on roads other than those roads with a designated cycle lane. 2. And no cycling two or more abreast on single carriageway roads.
Yes.. this is exactly my point, and without dashcam backing drivers up (if they're innocent), they end up with points/ban, a fine, repair costs and hefty insurance uplifts.
@@user-he9um6xp3c I hope not but I do believe cyclists should have at least third party insurance. Without dashcam, had the first rider hit either car, you can guarantee the drivers would have been blamed.
Don’t forget you are in two tonnes of protected metal. Not condoning those two cyclists but they take the risk of getting hit and that’s on them, but also more on you if you hit them regardless how annoying they are to you.
To be considered road vehicles and to have rights all these cyclists, electric and manual as well as these electric scooters that are now the thing need to be licenced, insured, pay road tax and have an annual test certificate for road worthiness. At school in the 50'sand 60's us school children had our bikes checked by the police at school and roadside checks to ensure they were safe had the correct equipment and in a lot of areas cyclist proficiency was also checked. But Vine is not old enough for that he thinks a Go-Pro on his helmet is all that is required to display skill and safety, yet another narcissist.
Thought I recognised that road I was born in Battle hospital Reading and worked for many years between the Hexagon and The Ramada Hotel (now renamed) for good old YELLOW PAGES. Had a Jag XJS in those days no problem with cyclists even going up towards Cemetary jnc
As a cyclist who does over 8000 miles a year, I completely agree this was a poor sample of how to ride a bike. Thankfully the vast majority of us cyclists are competent and safe. And yes, I also own a car and see many more dangerous drivers than I do cyclists. The example here... Sit back, be patient and let the guy on the bike do his thing

Id bet a majority of cyclists never read the Cyclists Highway Code which is why there are so many idiots on the road. Maybe government should introduce a provisional licence that requires cyclists to pass a test?
Unfortunately everything is in favour of cyclists and no effective enforcement on them. They can ride on footpath, they can jump red lights,.... The main reason is to encourage people to cycle and discourage motorists to drive so they can meet their green goals and reduce CO2, and preventing global warming!!
Understand what you're saying.. I ride a fair bit myself but at the end of the day, these people are cycling therefore are cyclists, nomatter how poor. My issue is, if for example, the first rider had come off and damaged the cars, we can agree it would have been entirely his own fault but without dashcam backing me up, I and the other driver would have been held responsible and suffered the fine/points/compensation/repair bills and enivitable motor insurance hike. That's simply how the law works these days. Plus, how do you tell a 'cyclist' from 'someone on a bike'?

You could drive around all day being a critic of other people's antics. Bus drivers, car drivers, private hire drivers, even Police drivers. And others would think your driving may not always be up to standard.
So we have to keep 2 yards from them or they'll moan and contact the police. But they can come on our right side at a junction only a few inches away and just go out into traffic and we can't do anything about them because there is no way to identify who they are?

Ahh..just watched my own vid again.. I get it.. it was the television losing signal. I can't see it when in drive but can listen, but in built up areas the signal is sketchy.. I was concentrating on the cyclist, not the audio..
With regards signalling left, I often won't signal left unless there is someone waiting to pull out. Why? Simply because I've had too many people thinking that it's okay to overtake on the turn. These two were cycling like complete bellends though - just be thankful they aren't in cars where they can do serious damage.
How very dare you criticise a bike rider. You should understand that bike riders have priority over everyone, including peds, even on zebra crossings. If they choose to pull out in front of a car which is doing 30mph, then that car must instantly stop, no matter how little space the bike rider leaves them. It is truely shocking that some people still insist on posting videos like these.
Right. It's not like people in cars would EVER do any of that crazy stuff. That or running red lights, stop signs, passing on the wrong side, cutting you off to get to alight faster, tailgating, brake checking, road rage, going slow in fast lanes. I mean that guy though....

@@wibbley1 I agree. I am a cyclist (in case you didn't know), and I've been riding for about three years and learned a lot. I've learned to respect the road, learned to follow the laws here (I read up on them). But I've also learned that there are people who ride that need some serious training, like that guy. And I've also learned that people in cars are assholes sometimes because they feel their protected by 4000lbs of metal and sometimes they need to side swipe you just to 'show you a lesson' .But when they do they usually don't stick around for me to have a conversation with them. So don't act like people who drive aren't pretty little angels that never do anything bad and it's all those "damn people on bikes ruing it for us all"

Re the first cyclist, did it ever occur to you that there is actually no point in overtaking him in the first place? Must you always get ahead? You weren’t getting anywhere faster and this is in fact beyond argument as he was able to catch up with you for those 2 junctions. Why not just hang back and chill out? You can’t be in that much of a rush surely and you were not really any faster in the end either so all seems a bit pointless.
The road doesn't belong to cyclists any more than it does to drivers. I overtook him because I was going faster.. I couldn't have known the rider would pull a stunt at the first junction so, had he stayed behind me, I would have arrived at the second junction well ahead. At no stage did I reach the speed limit for the road. Had I been riding my bike I would have gone past him. To hang back in the car would have meant feathering the brake the entire way down the hill.. and that doesn't 'chill' me out. So, with the benefit of hindsight, I didn't gain anything but only because the rider didn't stop and then because he held me up.

This bike sees weekly action, as does my equally old Super Galaxy and.. I'm currently stripping down my very old Holdsworth Elan, which I hope to get back on road by September.. I can't even imagine the miles I've done on these bikes.. the Elan I had when I was 16 and riding out with RCC. Never judge without knowledge. Just because you're a cycling nutter who seems to get more pleasure catching drivers using their phones than actually cycling, don't assume you're the god of cycling.. that would be really sad, wouldn't it!
