Most ships have a light menu for the first meal due to sea stomachs. I learned this when I was in the Navy.

I don't think I would want to travel on the huge cruise liners. The Nippon Maru looks about perfect. I was impresser with the decor and amenities. Beautiful.

It's a lovely ship, but the pool does seem a little scary. 😮 The food looks good, too- the curry soup was very appealing. I can't waitfor the next installment.

How difficult would it be for a foreigner to travel on a ferry. I don't think it as 'easy' as traveling by train or air. Luv these presentations!

I almost choked when I saw the ticket was $930 USD for this cabin. Five day cruises from Sydney to Fiji, in a nicer cabin, costs the same.

What a BEAUTIFUL Cruise! I loved your room---it was the perfect size, super cozy and had everything one could desire for this length trip. I was impressed with the lounges and salons! Food presentation was very creative but thank God for the late night burgers/hot dogs/beer/shakes!

It's both so lovely but also feels so dated. How can that be? From the outside this is the perfect ship for me. They shouldn't come any larger. ❤ thx for sharing your adventures

The grand bath is open till 25:00? That is luxurious!

I feel very mixed about this.. The ship has been renoveted in 2022 yet it seems rather old fashioned and definately cramped . Didn’t like the pokey bathroom and you’ve had double doors and a balconey on some other ships you’ve been on. Some of the food looked very good yet, you were right, the rice portion was quite inadequate and the miso soup was, well .. I’ve never seen anywhere miso that had absolutely nothing in it..! Not surprised you felt unhappy at that..🙄 But the bavaroise….now that was something..! 😌 Either way ….I can’t wait to see Day 2.!!🤗🌹🫶

Did anyone else see the timetable of the public bath? It's open till 25.00 hour. 😂 How on earth is that sign still up there after all those years the ship is in business? Nice to see you take a different trip this time that I haven't seen on other RU-vid channels yet. ❤ The little cruise looks amazing! Although it's quite expensive.

"Do they expect only older people?" These kind of cruises tend to skew towards an older clientele. Especially at that price. I'm in my late 30s, but I honestly prefer this more laid back, traditional style to the party boats and floating malls. Ship looks great, food looks great, room looks great, you know the service was probably impeccable. Only downside is it is very expensive.

It's interesting to see that there's an evacuation drill for a cruise but not for a ferry route that takes the same amount of time

Wow - that has to be one of the busiest ferry terminals we've seen yet.

Great trip. Finally another Cruise trip, this time on Local Cruise. Looks like it's route at selected season, because last time I watched it, it departs from Yokohama. Bit disappointed about the dinner and the pool looks like mini sea. But overall experience for this first episode, it's okay and better than your previous 7 day cruise trips.

Last time I was this early it was still the Edo jidai.

on the tug being so powerful chances are it is an ASD tug where they have props in different places or tugs using a rotational drive that is similar to a jet engine that forces water at a specific directon

I've always wondered if the all the overnight ferries from the other videos required muster drills. I've been on a fair number of cruises and even the one-night sailings always required one based on SOLAS (Safety of Life at Sea) regulations. That said, a lot of the cruise lines (at least the US based ones) don't generally require passengers to actually do a formal drill anymore, instead having you watch a safety video in your cabin and then check in to your assigned muster station at your convenience.

The Nippon Maru :) You should enjoy this better than the Bellisima. At least no worries about the food killing you :). I noticed portion size wasn't to your liking. So sorry STJ. Thing is cruise lines have food/ beverages everywhere and they know folks will be spending at least 50% of their time drinking and eating,. So portion size at main meal times accommodate for that food consumption. Now, maybe there is an entrepreneurial opportunity for you in introducing a rice bar on cruise lines? Styles, combinations, ect :)

@9:13 not to nitpick or anything, but what time is 25:00? it said that the grand bath was open from 15:00 -- 25:00 and I'm just curious what that means.

Maybe they serve smaller portions because they know that greedy passengers will be eating hot dogs and burgers before dinner 😂 Such a hungry lad 😂
