Avani is true 5 star. Stayed there last year in the pool level upgraded rooms. Was $200/ night but totally was a great way to unwind last 2 days. You come here to R&R at the pool. 5 minute walk to Walking Street. Service was A+, buffet B-, room service A+.

800 baht room all day long, once the bed was comfy, location is spot on, coming home mao everynight, i wudnt even notice the amenities, and once again Lucas, great camera work on the walkabout 😆

The Baywalk also includes in the price a very good all-you-can-eat breakfast buffet.....didn't need to eat again until the evening. The internet isn't much good, though and the in-room lighting is very bad once the sun goes down.

Sitting here stressed out over moving and a new job, its overcast and 40 degrees F. Yeah...I definitely miss Pattaya! As far as hotels, I'm not one for budget accommodations. I need somewhere I can retreat from the hustle, bustle, merry-go-round whirlwind that Pattaya can be and so I appreciate a nice property with some amenities. That being said, the BayWalk did look good. Depending on how long I was going to be there also plays a role. The Avanti looked amazing but last I heard, the Avani isn't guest friendly, so that would rule them out for me. Personally I would save the money on the hotel and use it to visit Beefeater Steakhouse an extra couple of times. They also do an all-you-can-eat Mexican on weekends for 295 baht and the ribs are to die for.

Avani is my favourite hotel in Thailand 🇹🇭, there are many better hotels, but all round the Avani has everything. Also the staff are very friendly and attentive. I’ve been staying there every visit for over 10 years.

You can’t even get a Motel 6 in the US for less than $60/night and they are dumps. Both of these were amazing considering cost, location, condition and amenities vs anything you can find in the US.

Great comparison between the 2 price points on/near beach rd. Bottom line is if you're going to spend a lot of time at the hotel on your holiday then take the 5 star (agree awesome pool setup), if you're going to be out socialising or on excursions all the time then stick with the cheaper room (still very nice all the same) and spend the difference on food/enjoyment. Beefeater superb been there many a time & Patricks is another good steakhouse. Great view your right cant fault that 😂 Shame you lost your footage dont beat yourself up accidents happen! I was due to retire to Hua Hin round now but due to the Covid plans are somewhat delayed. Lived and worked in Singapore, Malaysia and China over past few years using Thailand as my R & R spot. I noticed that when you went to the Baywalk Hotel you passed the Aya Boutique Hotel on the same Soi. I have stayed there 4 times but will be giving the Bay Walk a chance. Looks a lot better. Keep up the good work

These look great! Thanks for showing! I stayed at Zing Resort Jomtien when I was there and loved it. Cheap, clean and nice, fantastic staff, and walking to all the bars I wanted to go to. Baht bus right there.

Never stayed at the Avani, looked good, but have stayed at Baywalk which is a nice hotel. I stayed there with my old Girl Friend, who one night got very drunk and barfined two gogo dancers and tried to bring them back to the Baywalk. Suffice it to say, I gave the two dancers a few baht and sent them away and put my a very drunk thai to bed..that was a night to remember...the view from the stairs reminded me of the gogo dancers, good one!

Probably the best view from a staircase i have ever seen.......

Personality I prefer the older high end hotels. The U Nimman and the Shangri-La are both five-star in Chiang Mai. The bathroom in the Shangri-La was larger than my whole hotel room in U Nimman.

This 3 years old video pop up and i had to see it again. I wanted to see a happy Vee again. I do miss her .

Thanks for showing us Avani and Baywalk. I've stayed at Avani at least 6 times in the last 4 years and I enjoy it a lot (been going to Thailand for 13 years and savvy enough to only stay a few days though as better prices elsewhere). I like what your said about Avani's pool and you're right it's an Oasis in downtown Pattaya, We love the pool bar happy hour (4-5pm announced by a loud gong and drum) when drinks are two for one, free spicy Thai nuts, the swim up bar and chatting with people. Benihana's is attached to the place and nice for some quick sushi and a draft Asahi beer. Keep up the good videos and I hope we all come back soon. Take care

Love this video, well done... Comparison of two hotels in reasonably same area but at two different price points. You get to see the positives and the negatives. Great to compare, and who knows stay at one and breakfast at the other is a possibility... The only real down side the Chinese Invasion haven't just yet returned to Pattaya... I can only imagine how that one element "Chinese Tourist" will effect the pools and restaurants facilities. God help you all...

Stayed at Royal Garden Hotelabout 22 years ago.Some of the best gardens I've seen, beautiful. Also straight out of there into the gogos on soi post office,great,only problem was 500bt joiner fee for guests

Looks really nice. Unfortunately, for us to travel back to Thailand requires 2 weeks in quarantine before you can get out and do things, so my Thai Wife and I are monitoring for now.

Years ago the Marriot had all you can eat lobster tails plus steak which was fantastic great food and service

Spent most of my stays at the Marriott Royal Garten. Maybe even before it was a Marriott. Actually our first times were.across 2nd road at the Royal Twins. Befrore we got upgraded to the Gardens. It became our home in Pattaya. Over the years we tried other places, Sabai Resort, Holiday Inn, Hard Rock, and the Amari. All over about 20yrs time and mostly on the Uncles dime. People in the group has come and gone, but Royal Garden Avanya is still our go to place. Conveniently located. Great staff, very accommodating when we needed to make changes and had to stay over a few more nights due to technical issues. The breakfast buffet is the standard that we compare all others too, most fall short, maybe not alot but some. A few, not many, go whay beyond. The St. Regis in Singapore comes to mind.

I have been to the BeefEater Steakhouse They do have random limited-time deals I hope that one stays! That breakfast buffet looked really good. Continue staying safe.

We stayed at the Baywalk and especially enjoy the rooftop (5th floor) restaurant and views of the beach road.

I loved this episode because it's right in my neighborhood, having stayed across the street at Royal Palace and Twin. Royal Garden was a great hangout even before Central Festival was a concept. Depending on the lenght of stay, I might just opt for Avani. How about Costco peanut butter on my next trip? Smooth or Chunky?

I have been to the Avani and to it when it was the Marriott. Great location but it normally averages $115 to $135 a night when things are normal. It has a great location with tons of great spots to eat outside the hotel on a budget. If you stay there try out Benihana its really fun and good food (definitely not on a budget haha). Thanks for the video :). Ill be back sometime soon after the Coronavirus goes away.

Both hotels were very good value. The pool and gardens in the more expensive one was beautiful. Then again so was the Thai chick in the blue pants...wow..now I would definitely visit Pattaya for girls like that, haaa. Regards from England.

Thank you for the hotel updates i have stayed at many of top hotels in pattaya and some budget but nice hotels..For me i would rather spend the difference on great food massages etc.. has long as the units are nice and there is a good pool and mattress what else does one need... i have found that i can use almost any properties pool if i buy a drink or some food at there pool bar ! so if i want a change of place for swimming i just check out other properties it usually is fine... i do the same in Bangkok.,..

As long as the room is clean has an aircon and wifi i dont care about how many stars it has :)

If you want the (a) biggest pool and (b) best value breakfast , 150 baht, try Lek Villa near the Dolphin roundabout.

The past 3 visits to Pattaya my girlfriend and myself have stayed at Hotel Zing which is on the main route between Pattaya and Jomtien. I managed to get the rooms for between £13-18 each time. Rooftop pool and sun deck area and another pool on floor level. Baht bus stops outside the door and 7/11 next door.

The Baywalk is good value, great location, good hotel, nice rooftop pool with an ocean view, good all round rooms.

If I was alone I'd have to start a conversation with Miss Purple Trousers. Definitely a wonderful view! You certainly attacked the buffet, tipping the raisin jar upside down made me laugh 😆

Stayed there several times when Royal Garden - lovely pool - rooms nothing special and joiner fee unless registered on check in - better value options further up north beach road

Baywalk Hotel is better than expected. Just the location is worth some Bahts. Not modern in facilities does not bother much. Room cleanliness and Staff attitude is far more important.

I think we're going to stay next winter at the Avani - its less than 1/2 price of a lesser quality place we're in right now in Waikiki and the food is about 1/8th the price there

Interesting video, thanks. I usually stay at the Basaya Beach Hotel on Beach Road closer to the Soi 6 end. A bit older but it has a great swimming pool area and a convenience store located on the premises for cheaper beers. I paid around 1200 THB a night in Feb from memory. Have also stayed at the Baywalk. Didn't meet the chick in the hot blue pants though ( ' ' )

The breakfast buffet at the Avani is a lovely place for a nice treat now and again -- you should try Casa Pascal ( literally opposite the road from Avani ) the breakfast buffet is less than 300 ( 2019 ) but it's FABULOUS THEE best Value buffet in Pattaya - for quality food etc

Good to see Beefeater is surviving the virus. Been there many times and always had excellent food and service , its a Pattaya favourite and I recommend it to everybody.

Baywalk is one of my favorite hotels that was my first place I stayed in pattaya years back great Value. And the breakfast is pretty good

I have never stayed at Avani, but sometimes I get breakfast there when staying nearby. You can get a great deal on the buffet if you book through eatigo. I always enjoy walking around the gardens and pool area after breakfast.

Yep the view from the stairs on Bay walk will start your heart lol. Stayed there a few times and been great. If i remember correctly the gym is on the floor below the restaurant will full glass view out to the beach.

Best hotel deal right now is 10000thb for 90 days in red planet hotel pattaya AND if you want you can stay in any other red planet hotel in Thailand..for example 30 days in pattaya, then 30 days in Bangkok then 1 week in Phuket then back to pattaya for 3 weeks ..beat that

The Avani is a great hotel. The staff are superb. They have a members lounge. You can get free soft drinks and beverages during the day and and alcohol and canaries early evening. I also stayed when it was the Marriott. I preferred this as member benefits were better. Avani member benefits are poor. Some of the corner rooms in the block you were staying have private balconies the size of the room you were staying in. You can also choose to stay in the gardens. Another difference in both hotel rooms will be noise. When Pattaya is in full swing and music blaring, the quality of build in Avani rooms mean the soundproof is excellent. A big issue for me. .

I miss Pattaya so much. Im thinking to just parachute in...LOL. Anyway, i watch your videos so i can at least feel like i am back.

I got a HUGE room with balcony because 'you are big man!' 😅 I'm also a 'must have roof top pool' guy'. Wanted to get an update! Last time I was in Pattaya(when you were on Koh Samet) I stayed at Pplus after I saw your vlog about it. Next time I will try the Baywalk,it iBooks even better. I plan to go first week of Nov. Stay safe traveling man. All safe here on Samui,but some rain every day. Not the best time to visit here.

I'm I'm the UK. On Agoda the cheapest room is 1399thb for the Baywalk! It's a great hotel, I've stayed twice and loved it, great location and friendly staff. How did you get it for 800?
