A Goods Train and a fuel Tanker Truck have collided in Kapiri Mposhi killing two operators of the locomotive.
Central Province Police Commanding Officer, DONALD MWANDILA says the accident happened in Kapiri Mposhi.
Mr. MWANDILA says the deceased who have not yet been identified are operators of the locomotive.
He confirmed the incident ZNBC News in Kabwe today.
The Central Province Police Chief says the accident happened around 10 hours when the truck, moving from LUSAKA to NDOLA failed to stop at the Kapiri Glass rail crossing.
He said the goods train which was moving from South to North collided with the truck which burst into a blaze.
And Mr. MWANDILA said the driver of the truck TIMOTHY SHAWA of Matero Township in Lusaka fled the scene but has been apprehended and is in police custody.
By broadcast time, Traffic from either side was blocked forming queues of more than a kilometre.
