A very cool study where white can win even with 2 pieces down. Can you solve this?
This study was composed by Valeri Khortov in 1984.

Qd5 setting up the discovered check is brilliant. I thought every move by white had to be a check on the black king but this puzzle allowed the white king to be checked and still retain control.

I really think everytime this man brings nerve shaking puzzles for us 😅 . And mostly there is zugzwang in every puzzle .

Beautiful second move. I thought Qd8+ would be winning but from there we cannot get to the key-field c7.

First move really jumped at me, 5 seconds at best! But didn't find the follow up, overlooked that the bishop covers e7!

2:13 - Q-e5 was obvious. But why not examine Q-e8+ or Qd4+, depending on K move? Then Q-d5 is still possible, the same endings elsewhere.

How about qe5, ka8, qe8, ka7, qe3, kb8, qb6, kc8, qc7, mate?

That was my first thought, but after qe3, King can go to a8, and you don't have another check. Qd5, setting up the discovered check is critical

How about after Qd5 , if Kc8 Qc7 mate, if Ka7 Qc7 .., if Ka8 Qe8 did I miss something? BTW love the puzzles!!

I think black has several options after Qc5 but the move I would choose after a quick look is Nd7, attacking the queen and getting the knight more involved.
