I live near an airforce base in Germany so I get to see the fighters regularly, never so close though unfortunately. The Typhoon sure is a neat looking aircraft, it never gets across on camera how loud these can be when using full thrust

I’ve never seen one up close in real life. I do photograph them a lot in flight though, the video is just off a cheap mobile phone unfortunately but the sound when they pass is amazing.

It was definitely the first time I've seen one hover over water that low. It waited a good few minutes for the typhoons.

helis in low level areas keep down at 100 feet and below to have a margin below 250 ft fastjets9 except tactical training areas where movements are co ordinated. Helos fly around livestock not over if seen in time,all outdoor horse training areas are marked as avoids on the low fly charts.

I followed the link to the flickr pics.... Pretty pics Back in 1991, i was at an air base, doing firearms training for DOJ. Mornings....watching F16 and A10 doing runs on the range..... Sadly, the album of those pics...disappeared during my move to Taiwan. In 1995, I was at Taoyuan train station, when a train carrying tanks came through. We were told to put our cameras away,but I got 2 beautiful pics.....M60...I forget...but I think A3...

@@thecumbrianmootuber9728 More often than not there is cloud so I can only hear them chasing around and it's frustrating! Two were flying high yesterday and it was sunny so I could see them clearly. We get F15s too and they generally come fast and low and shake the houses. Had an AWAC recently. Had some delta wing jets a bit like Typhoons but couldn't see them clear enough and I wonder if they were some sort of Euro planes on Nato exercise.

Probably just an exercise. By the time they get to fly the typhoons they have progressed though flight training of a number of aircraft.

If I remember right, a video from the merlin was realised after showing the typhoons. So you maybe correct..

@@thecumbrianmootuber9728 there is no way that the typhoons would be allowed into the same airspace with out the co ordination in place for it to happen. simply too dangerous for the merlin. the position of the merlin, in just the right spot to film/photo the typhoons the spotters new that was also going to happen

@@seansean9675 well there has to obviously be some sort of cross communication for low level training between forces which most likely also includes the USAF and probably the us navy and us army when they are over here although it is mainly just usaf which would be the only foreign force which uses the the low level training areas regularly but yes they all probably inform each other of which areas they plan to use and which height they will be conducting training and they obviously will have direct communication between all military aircraft using the area

I’m not sure. They all have to book in to go low level so they would have know each aircraft was going to be there in advance. They also spoke via radio on entering the area. A video did come out after the time from the merlin of the typhoons flying overhead. The merlin was a navy aircraft and the typhoons are raf.

I was in the Merlin. We were ahead of schedule on our way to Prestwick and heard the Typhoons on Low Level Freq. Rather than them overtake us on a bend I thought it better to descent to 100' wait and see them coming! It's by no means an SOP but I thought sensible at the time! We weren't expecting to be so popular. The information in the deconfliction tool we use is only as good as the time you see it, so for us some 3 hrs earlier. No prior contact or plan I'm afraid!

You'd be surprised how when you look back each photo has slightly different parts to it. Especially if a pilot waves or an aircraft fluffs up.

@@socialising6037 it's shoots 10 shots a second so depends on the speed of the aircraft and at what point I decided to start shooting and how many aircraft. You have to be pretty ruthless editing as you'd be there a long time going through them.

@@fucksake893 Thanks. I've tried to start doing that with some of the other videos but I don't have photos for all of them. I'm going to try and work more on that idea for future vids. I've one coming out this weekend from 2021 which has photos of the aircraft after each pass. It's a shame the quality gets downgraded on you tube but it gives an idea.

Honestly, I was expecting the real Typhoon from WW2 barreling through that fjord with Merlin engine at full chat. A couple of bursts with the battery of 20 or 40mm cannons would’ve been great.
