They did not see their family's very often. They took care of each other. They call each other brother so they are a family. They still lived together until a few years ago when they all got their own places. I think most of them live within 5 minutes of each other in the same apt. complex. Enjoyed reaction, see you soon.😊

I love this episode, because it gives a lot of context to why early bts was so impactful to the public and honestly pretty brave to speak out. Still, it’s very important to criticise the strain and pressure of kids in south korea, but it’s also important to understand why and how that culture developed - it didn’t come out of nowhere.. A few months ago, RM did an interview with El Pais, where he said, "People in the West just don't get it. Korea is a country that has been invaded, devastated, torn in two. Just seventy years ago there was nothing. We were getting help from the IMF and the UN. But now, the whole world is looking at Korea. How is that possible, how did that happen? Because people are working f****** hard to improve themselves. (…) You are in France or the UK, countries that have been colonizing others for centuries, and you come to me with, "Oh God, you put so much pressure on yourselves, life in Korea is so stressful!'. Well, yes. That's how you get things done. And it's part of what makes K-pop so appealing. Although of course there are shadows, everything that happens too fast and too intensely has side effects.” Which I found really interesting and important to keep in mind. Korea was a war torn, impoverished country very very recently, it was a dictatorship until the late 1980s (mainly because of the US government and the Cold War…) So I understand parents and grandparents who put emphasis on school and hard work, considering the country they grew up in, but of course it goes way too far when you consider the lack of mental health resources and the suicide rates as discussed in this video. It’s a very complex situation, and BTS definitely did a huge thing in giving comfort to the youth who are struggling.

29:01 they'd live on their own in the dorm with 1 of their managers. so 1 dorm 2 bedrooms 1 bathroom with 8 people in it. the manager got his own room. also all of the BTS members are from different provinces outside of seoul so they need to leave their family and move to the city. little jungkook at 14 yo would cry because he missed his family. jin would take him to visit and eat dinner together with his own family (jin & namjoon hometown is the closest to seoul) 😭 V's parents used to travel 12 hours to seoul so they could visit their son for 30 minutes. and bring a lot of bread & milk so BTS members could eat it together. 😭😭😭

Thank you for being open minded and learning without prejudice. My BTS journey had helped me recognize there is a toxic definition of masculinity engrained in both men and women. Although many may not admit, many will have passed judgements on BTS’ appearance, choice of clothes and behaviour based on misconceptions. I’ve made this mistake and I’m grateful BTS has persevered to allow me another chance to learn and open my eyes. As a result, I advocate and protect them with all I do.

Definitely agree with you on the misconceptions. Honestly, I was never a fan of anything growing up, I even thought fandoms were cringey and unnecessary. With music tho, I was always open minded, since my native language is spanish, I enjoyed music regardless of language. And I'm so SO thankful it showed me BTS. They opened my eyes to so much... I grew so much with them, and can confidently say I changed many toxic perspectives for the better. I became a fan in 2016 & when I heard No More Dream & N.O. I remember crying bcs I was one of those 15 yr old kids who always had being top of the class as #1 priority. I fr owe them sm, I became a fan for their music, their message & their personalities.. just their humanity in life. The one who thought fandoms were cringey became part of the "advocate & defend BTS" ARMY lmaoo 😂😂😂 But I'm so much happier now, I can name so many of their songs and explain in detail why they're important & memorable to me... they're a special once in a lifetime group fr. Just a heads up. BTS hasn’t really done many love songs. Only recently with those single albums. Out of the 350+ songs that they have done, there’s only a handful that could be described as love songs. Most of the softer songs are dedicated to Army’s. The majority of their content over the past decade has always been about self-love, mental health, societal expectations and psychology of the soul.

When BTS became global they became expose to a different type of fans. Fans who are more accepting and not expect them to be perfect unlike the standards set in their own country. Since Korean and Global fans now have good relationship, most of their Korean fans no longer follow the typical standard set for an idol. They are now more accepting and the BTS now knows it. That its ok to make a mistake and that they dont have to be perfect all the time. You said that in your country women thinks its a red flag if a guy cries or speaks in a soft manner. I am not sure but maybe just in your circle. Because BTS has a lot of fans in the US who believes that their soft side is the one that makes them very endearing and not the macho way kind of guy. Actually in general, men always believe that women like men who appears strong and macho but in reality men who cries and speak softly are more authentic, honest and courageous. This is one of the main reason why BTS is so loved by ARMY.

@@seec4856 yep. That’s why so many women are choosing to not date. being sensitive to other people’s feelings is part of being a good human. But in this world, with the role models people have, it’s not an easy job to convince them. BTS are leading the way. 💜 The western social context in which many men have grown up teaches that emotions like sensitivity, sympathy, kindness, understanding and dependency are signs of weakness, and that “real men” are tough and hard. And that sadly leads to high suicide rates and abuse.

Hiya, just wanna give some perspective on the scene where these "hip hop" guys were tearing RM and Suga down on a table sitdown: There were multiple much older guys "discussing" with only RM and Suga, who were 19 and 20years old at the time, in front of some underground hip hop fans i guess. These older guys were underground rappers, some making rap music also, in their own market. Were they the big legendary rap artists of Korea? No they weren't. But RM and Suga were active and were quite well-known in underground rap scene when they were in highschool. So, when RM and Suga debuted into a relatively "mainstream" platform (despite them not actually being treated as mainstream artists), unfortunately, these "older, more experienced rap artists" felt the need to tear down 2 freshly out of highschool new artists from a struggling company in front of a public audience. Why? Beats me. In the early days, BTS were mocked by the rap scene, for leaving underground rap scene and being "idols". On the other side of the coin, they were also mocked by the idol industry and general kpop fans, for the type of image they had (not exactly mainstream pop, songs with rebellious message, and....a lot of ppl hated them simply bc they were from a struggling poor company) But true to the person they are and the type of outlook they have, faced with putdowns, snide remarks and just full-on criticisms by these older supposedly "senior artists" Suga showed his open-mindedness and replied calmly with wanting to bridge underground rap and mainstream. In the end, RM and Suga who started out in the underground rap scene, they have their roots in rap and hiphop and produce such music even to this day, but they are first and foremost artists, actual true artists who love making music and don't limit themselves to a single type of music, but instead express themselves musically across a variety of genre.

Asians, especially Koreans in this case, have so much respect for their elders (and familial hierarchy). So Jin, being the eldest hyung (eldest brother among them) is the youngest in his own family. He also came from a priviledged background so he made a lot of sacrifices as well, being able to adjust to less than comfortable living conditions when they started as trainees.

As trainees they lived all together and rarely got to see their family. They could call them, but their days were so filled up. Their own dedication to be the best and try harder - they spent extra time practicing. The vocal line worried how hard the rap line worked to write and produce. They became each other’s family and brothers. Bang PD also looked after them. He made sure they thought about their own happiness. Their managers were also like a parent. When they all lived in one room the manager slept in the same building but the next room over. They did have girlfriends, not all of them, but they realized they needed to focus on what they loved to do. Army was also there during their lean years and have never left them. The parents were great and gave them the freedoms to become their own selves. JHope’s mom worked out of the country to earn more money to support his dream. RM’s mom realized his dream and not just a person who had the dream to be just intelligent and get a good job. Cheers to the parents who raised them and their siblings to be individuals and not follow the norm. 💜👏🏽😊👍🏽

N.O. is simply an incredible and powerful song which is super underrated. They're going against their cultural and societal norms and getting tons of backlash in a move most idols would not - do not have the courage and resolve to do. They have always done that since the very beginning. And it's not just about the expectations of adolescents but even adults trapped in their 9-5s can find this a very relatable and comforting call to action. Each of their songs is much of the same. BTS is just incredible. It's not just in Asia either. I think anyone around the world can relate to the grind that lets people in power keep everyone down. I just hope N.O. and other such BTS songs can open eyes and bring others comfort too. ApoBangpo.

re drugs in S Korea... Even the mildest drugs (like marijuana ) are illegal as is any form of gambling. If anyone in the entertainment industry there is arrested for drugs/gambling, their careers are OVER. Really. So, it's not that the people around BTS are so good (though they are!), it's that people in that industry know the score. Korea is a very conservative society. They expect a certain standard of behavior for all actors, musicians, singers, etc down to government officials. I remember one famous singer from 10-12 years ago who got his girlfriend pregnant and then refused to marry her. He had to leave the country. He disappeared from the entertainment industry for more than 5 years. And, although he tried to make a comeback, his reception was just lukewarm. His career was over. There are many examples like that.

Hi guys, since I’ve been watching you, I’ve heard you say many times ‘they went mainstream (more pop) to get a bigger audience. And since I know these were recorded in advance, I’m hoping that specific opinion has shifted somewhat. Of course in general everyone would want to reach a bigger audience, but I’d say look at it as they evolved/grew from teenagers/young adults to adults. Look at it as everyone changes as time goes by. When you look at the discography as a whole you will see that growth. First trilogy about school life and being a young person, next trilogy about being a young adult and what that encompasses, the next trilogy about adulthood and related themes and it continues from there. There are others that can and have explained it better than me - Just know they’ve never been a ‘sell out’ to themselves for fame or money. They have always been themselves. Seven different individuals have a lot to contribute coming together. Also know they n e v e r left Hip Hop behind. 😊

It's not like they aren't still a hiphop group. Rm was part of the group bulletproof boys in big hip. That was an all round rap group. The project changed and they added singers for the new group bangtan sonyeondan. The singers weren't singing as much back then, and the rappers carried. However, gradually, the more they improved, the more they were singing. Some of their styles changed etc. But they had more love songs earlier on, besides the love myself series. People are people everywhere and you’ll get celebrities who get involved with rubbish like drugs and stuff, or are rude and have a fake personality. However that’s what makes BTS and my other favourite groups stand out so much, their journey has been humble and all are very well spoken and advocate for positive change. This is one of my favorite episodes of Rise because it really shows why their music is important. They truly were radical kpop groups did not talk about real issues and BTS has always made room for songs to talk about social issues and be a voice for their generation. Their promotion of mental health and the whole Love Yourself series of albums is to not just call out problems but teach themselves and their fans how to love yourself. The problems are sadly universal so worldly relatable. And no the industry and government subtly or blatantly caused them problems. Army was small but devoted deeply to BTS and supporting the, not because (or just because) they were cute boys who had fun music but because they touched real issues and showed a real side of themselves. It’s interesting because as they got badly treated by the media they just did their own things like Run BTS or their own shows. And yes BTS very much models showing how to celebrate small things. Suga had a GF and I remember a rumor he caught her teaching in him. Cant even imagine as he’s the fandom guy we constantly say “Yoongi marry me” lol. But overall we know nothing about who they may be dating g or have dated and I’m ok with that let them have their lives.

Also, the guy had lived together for yrs. During last yrs Festa was when they all official moved into their own places. During their dinner Festa talk they were in their apartment and had said they were all there to move the last of their things out. Once it got into the Most Beautiful Moment in Life albums, the love songs were never so one dimensional as just romantic love. It can easily encompass, friendship, familial, love for humamity, etc. And just like romantic love, there can be some who have toxic traits (such as manipulations and controlling behaviors) in the other types of love. @@DANDJREACT FYI - RM did an interview in Spain early this year with El Pais which he was asked: "The cult of youth, of perfection, of overachievement in K-Pop ... Are these Korean cultural traits?" His answer was very honest and direct ... he said: "In the West, people just don't get it. Korea is a country that has been invaded, razed to the ground, torn in two. Just 70 years ago, there was nothing. We were getting aid from the IMF (International Monetary Fund) and the UN. But now, the whole world is looking at Korea. How is that possible? How did that happen? Well, because people try so fucking hard to better themselves. You are in France or UK, countries that have been colonizing others for centruies and you come to me with, "oh God, you put so much pressure on yourselves; life in Korea is so stressful!" Well, yes. That's how you get things done. And it's part of what makes K-pop so appealing, although of course, there's a dark side. Anything that happens too fast and too intensely has side effects. I think he was trying to give everyone a "Korean" perspective vs. a Western perspective of Korea's culture.

A lot of us first generation Asian-Americans grew up hearing stories about studying all day and night from our parents and how competitive it was to get into college. Part of the reason they immigrated to the US is because they didn't want their kids to go through the same thing. But then we grew up with the added pressure that our parents sacrificed their whole lives for us and that we couldn't let them down by not doing well in school and not going to a good university and not getting a good job afterwards. There may not have been the same pressure from American society to study hard and do well in school but we sure felt it from our parents. But Asian kids for sure have it harder. The amount of pressure they are under is insane. Also, I prefer old school BTS to the stuff they put out after early 2020.

I love the scenes of the members reading their letters to armys. The love between BTS n Armys is legendary. They have always tried to be open and honest with us when it comes to their emotions and thinking. Just like armys have tried to be as open with BTS. If you get a chance I would love to see you guys react to the members watching armys song for BTS. Armys put together a song every year for BTS's anniversary and we always try to get them to see it. It doesn't always work out, but this year we had 3 members react to it. The cycle of love continues lol! I also recommend Burn the Stage, Break the Silence, and Bring the Soul docuseries and movies for additional content. Oh and Boracity has an overview of BTS's chapter 1 music genres if you are interested. It includes absolutely everything! Pre-debut, every album, even solos, highly recommend it. And I'm sorry to hear about your negative experiences with females for showing emotions. Everyone should be able to be open and honest with a partner. That really sucks. It's probably one of the reasons so many people are choosing to stay single, lol!

Here in this series you guys see the artist BTS side only but at the same time Korean ARMYs,they were going through a lot of stuff too. Even saying they are BTS fans will get them in trouble. The other kpop fandoms were very wild those times and ARMY was not a big Fandom that time. So they had to hide the fact that they are BTS fans. BTS knows all of these and that's why they said they'll make ARMY proud and work hard for ARMYs. The sabotage attempts on BTS are very crazy. You can find all those history in Twitter threads. ARMY records everything. I really have huge respect for OG ARMYs who stood by our boys. They are real warriors.💜

I admire BTS for bringing awareness to the world and hope to the people or Korea. I think we (us citizens) tend to forget some people can’t just leave where they are because they are unhappy. South Korea has an extreme difference in wealth and poverty. For many an education at the right university is the only way out of their current living situation. I always remind myself the South Korean country, government, culture and society are very different in comparison to the US. 💜

They worked extremely hard to make the Korea what is now one of the wealthy country and that is reason parents are pushing their kids to do hard work to become better. In 2017, BTS performed at the 25th-anniversary concert for Seo Taiji, a revolutionary Korean music legend from the 90′s who was known for openly criticizing the Korean education system (at that time, school days for teenagers went from 7 am to 9 pm daily). BTS, especially in their earlier years, also openly criticized the Korean education system (in contrast to other K-Pop groups, who desperately avoid politics at all costs). The intense, high-stress Korean education system is viewed as being one of the many factors behind the high suicide rate in youths in South Korea. Seo Taiji’s most famous song, “Classroom Idea,” is known for being particularly anti-the oppressive Korean school system. BTS and Seo Taiji performed the song together at the anniversary concert, wearing Seo Taiji’s original performance outfits, meant to look like rebels/revolutionaries. They also waved flags featuring Seo Taiji’s original anti-Korean school system symbol. The event was seen as Seo Taiji passing on his flag/symbol to BTS, the next generation of young revolutionary socially-conscious Korean artists. Seo Taiji feat. I bet you that any rap-artist appearing on TV is wearing stage make-up - just like any TV presenter. ;) And their families did come to Seoul to see them on a few occasions, because there's mentions of meals when they went out as a group and ate together. But the first time they got to go home for a visit was about two years after their debut, I believe? They had three days off to go back to their various home towns. Jin is the only one who is a Seoul native, I believe. One of the parents also paid for the basic necessities in their first dorm - like some kitchen utensils and linens and such, I believe. The first fan gifts they got that they really treasured were equipment for their flat - kitchen bowls, a rice cooker, and so on. The kitchen bowls staid with them forever, fans recognized them in fairly recent videos from their last dorm. Jungkook was 13 when he signed with Big Hit, and 15 when he had his debut as the main vocalist and center of their acts. He's stated that the boys basically raised him collectively - Jin used to make him a bagged lunch and drive him to school.

Also, don’t forget that South Korea gained independence from Japan in the 1940s. And the country was a shamble. They’ve taken it from a Third World country to a first world nation in 80 years. That has led this insane work culture. Some say that this world culture was influenced by Japanese work values adopted during the colonial period as well as a military driven culture that dominated South Korea under the authoritarians governments of the 60s and 70s. It was the Japanese who spread the concept of “myeolysabonggong” which means destroy your personal life and devote yourself for the betterment of your community. This certainly influenced aspects of modern South Korean work culture. This work ethic has created a soaring, beautiful country but has sacrificed the sanity and mental health of many of its citizens. I hope it changes to embrace mental health at some point.

Actually, it was more like 30 years after the Korean War in the 50s. Korea became the fastest growing developed nation that led to host the 1988 Olympics in Seoul and now one of the leading countries. It's a massive accomplishment, considering South Korea is a much smaller nation than China or Japan and they barely had manpower or resources left after the devastation from both the Japanese Occupation and The Korean War, back to back. The country itself was a rags to riches story in history. It's an amazing feat if you think about it. Even after the Korean War, not many people knew about Korea the way they do nowadays. Generally, when people see Asians, it used to be ' Are you from China or Japan?' Thus, it is a big deal for BTS and their accomplishments, coming from a small company and a small unrecognized nation like South Korea. I apologize for the long ramble from an older ARMY.😊💜

Hi, thank you so much for your reaction and your open mind. And, sorry in advance for the extension. I understand it is really hard if you don't understand the culture (sometimes it asks the guys to be cute, but for Western culture is weird), and also it is difficult if you have other styles of music (if you notice, kpop in general use different styles in one song). I think that the most important thing to know here is that they used music that works for the lyrics and insights that they want to deliver. Meanwhile, they are writing their path through the Korean culture while arriving in the Western culture. They are trying to release themselves of their tights, mentality, and strict forms of doing things, to just do whatever they want to do. And also, try to enter a new world with other languages and points of view, without losing themselves. Just this fact turned them into really impressive artists, not all the Asiatic people could even try and talk about it. So, if you really want to understand them, I think it is helpful to know about the path because their lyrics are not really about love, love (at least not in the same conception that you think pop does it). For example, this is really important in the love myself era, not for a relationship, but more for your welfare. Although it doesn't resonate completely with me because I am almost 40 years, I understand why is special but it was in my past, and now I am in another moment of my life. But their effort and the path that they choose that is written in their lyrics always deeply touch me because is also my path (born singer, NO, tomorrow, dope, Wings, sea, let it go, outro Tear, shadow, black swan, ON, run bts). Also, they have differnt styles in one album, 1. Intro (a solo), hard song (rappers), soft song (vocals), hype song (for presentation), a normal/different/depends song hahaha (style depending album history, outro (solo/subgroup song finishing the context)). Few examples for you to know: they use hip hop, rock against society or their own mind (no more Dream, NO, baepsae, persona, shadow, UGH), pop/rock, EDM for love to the fans, friends, and themselves (DNA, boy with love), ballads, R&B, and rock for sadness for their journey and their problems about being an idol (rain, house of cards, the truth on told), mombatrop, trap, rock and other hype style for fun and fight (not today, fire, Idol, ON, run bts), reggaeton style for temptation (blood, sweat, and tears, talking about continue in the same artistic path as a temptation), use rock, R&B, and contemporary style for darkness sights (fake love, black swan). Maybe I am not correct in genera, but it is a little guide that maybe it is useful for you. If you finish this, thank you so much!

They didn’t see their families often as has been said. Jimin did 2 logs from the beach in Busan in his hometown one in 2015 and the next in 2016 and he hadn’t been back in that time, they had been given a couple of days. But they were still heavily involved behind the scenes, the families wouldn’t come to see them in Seoul and go to their performances. They were their rocks and if you watch them from the beginning you see little snippets of their families behind the scenes from phone calls to conversations about them. Jungkook’s parents were at his High School attendance ceremony. But they admitted that they were probably closer with each other in many ways as a result.

sorry for probably being annoying a saying the same thing its just you keep mentioning it in the past few videos i know current you knows by now but i want to reiterate majority of their songs are not love songs and are not pop. for example in their album BE from 2020 there are no love songs at all. in their album love yourself tear theres maybe 3 love songs but those love songs arent even typical or cliché love songs theyre very deep and can even be applied to bts talking to army not a lover. i think the album with the most love songs is love yourself answer and it only has 11 love songs majority songs from previous albums while the album itself has 26 songs in total even the album thats considered most about love has 7 love songs and 7 non love songs its their album dark and wild. they have more songs that arent about love regardless if its new albums or old albums love is never the main topic and even if it is its not always romantic love it can be love in any form most often its friendship theres a select few that are clearly about a romantic relationship but many that are open to interpretation. i know you know this but just wanted to explain the album portion because when you add up all the songs the topic isnt on love as much as youre making it seem like in these last few videos. there are some but they still have heavy social commentary way into 2022/2023 which is why theyre still being targeted even this week many members have been under fire because of smear campaigns. that whole jamboree situation not sure if you heard about it but their government tried to use them to cover it up but armys didnt let them. every day there something new which is why armys always seem intense.

11:22 You're right, people r trying to impress others rather than finding their own peace of mind. Parents used to be like Studying is the only way to get success, n thts the only choice they had, this all left south korean students with a lot of pressure n competition in the education field. The society n parents didn't want to understand their children's interest n tht there r soo many more fields to make ur career in. Then BTS came up with all these songs to aware them n tell them tht follow ur Interest, ur Dreams, ur Passion 💜💜 And guys, I think i'm coming back on ur channel almost after a month, it's feels weird to be this late, bt i swear it was not intentional, a LOT of things have happened in my life, i can't tell u guys everything bt i couldn't be on social media for a while bcoz of many reasons. I know one person won't make any difference to ur channel bt still I'm sorry. Hope u guys understand 😅💜 Also, i never mentioned it before, bt English is not my first language, if i make mistakes plz ignore, Borahae !! 😅💜

What gets me is they should have learnt from what happened in Japan who were the one's with the highest child suicide rate due to school pressure. That's come down a lot and now it's rise in China instead. It's something that's a lot of Asian children get the pressure from what their parents expect from them. They want them to succeed be doctors, lawyers etc so their children will have well paid jobs which is good however they forget that not everyone is going to be a doctor a lawyer or be in a good governmential job with a good state pension at the end of it all. That people need to find what right for them and do it at their own speed.

For their dating history, they been shared it on their show called "rookie king". It was before they become a trainee. Jhope broke up with his gf because she cheated on him (bet she regret it greatly now lol), Suga dating his best friend but after they dating, they become distance coz Suga cant expressed his feelings n emotion (because he feel shy n didnt know what to do), that make their relationship become awkward so the girl feel disappointed n break up with him (Suga even sent his apologize letter to radio that he make her feel disappointed n feeling hurt coz he cant express himself very well n make them get distance, hoping the girl listen it through the radio), RM get break up because he cant stand to feel upset n jealous because his gf have a lot of male friend around her 😂 and V, he is the most have dating history when he was in elementary school n middle school, because he literally cant reject a girl who confess her feelings to him (he cant bear to say no n hurt the girl's feelings), but strangely, the girl break up with him shortly even before they start dating lol.. JK also have dating on his elementary school but both of him n his gf didnt know what is dating means at that time so they just keep being like a friend lol 😂😂 it's more like a child play. For jimin, he said he didnt have dating history because he is too shy to approach the girl that he like. So he more like a secret admire for a girl that he like. And for Jin, he being stingy that never share for his dating history lol.. but all story is before they become a trainee. We never know their dating history after they debuted as idol, except for V, now he is dating Jennie, member of blackpink. Even they are not officially announced it, but some fans have been caught them go out for dating in paris not long time ago (there is a photo they were dating at paris but they being accompanied by their manager n bodyguard around them lol). Even some of his fans are still in denial lol but some of them give their blessing n some doesn't care with V private life.

@@DANDJREACT No one has ANY actual info on their dating life since debut. There are many rumors and lots of photoshopped Twitter nonsense. The Paris photos of V were faked by people dressed like the idols. Also, it’s a myth that they lived together until recently. They began buying homes around 2017-18, and may have rented places before that time. All real estate purchases in Korea are publicly reported. HYBE maintained a “dorm” for them until last year, and they sometimes stayed there and certainty filmed there, in an expensive and secure building. Their personal lives are not revealed. Some of them now film lives in their apartments, but Suga and Jin show nothing.

Most of these trying to put them down were the Big 3 Kpop companies it was clear they were going to rival their own groups and they weren't going to let that happen. However BTS just continued gaining more and more fans who worked for them and they over took them. That's how come their bankrupt company is now bigger that the Big Three as BTS became the Global Super Group something the other's couldn't do.

No, women in South Korea don't want blubbery men either. Crying easily is also a sign of childhood. BTS were very young and sweet at this time. I notice that they don't cry as much anymore. (Armies kind of freaked out last year when RM cried because it is so unusual) I think you are over simplifying what women (anywhere) think. Everyone, men and women, as adults need to find a balance between fortitude and expressing your emotions, between sensitivity and productivity. It's not healthy to be too emotional or too hard.

Yeah it’s a universal thing in the sense that it’s everywhere not just the US. But saying don’t like emotional men isn’t true like you said. There needs to be a balance of someone who can openly talk about their feelings in a healthy way.

I can understand your thinking but that's only because you've only seen a tiny amount of what they can and do do. They are not and never will be a one trick pony. They've are based in Rap and R & B but they are 7 artists who are not all the same. They are forever adding new things expanding their skills and show other sides. The can do whatever genre and excel in it and they'll mix those genre's in interesting ways. Because they are expanding ever growing artists. As the add new things it'll be extra rather than instead of. I notice through their albums and solo work it's still them I get the hard Rap, the poppie stuff the R & B the rock vibe, the EDM, etc etc. Some groups stagnate, some start one way then change and never do anything similar while BTS somehow manage that minefield of going stale and avoid the minefield of going off in a direct that means the lose their core base. BTS navigate the minefield like the experts and talented artist they really are. They keep their core essense and simply add more and more strings to their bow or one could say add more varities of flowers or fruit trees to their garden.

About US artist get a drugs n alcohol n destroying themself because of fame, lot of idol or artist in korea also lead that path too (doing drugs, DUI, and other illegal crime. And their career is ended in commercial/mainstream industry, but some of them who have ability as producer or rapper can still continue their career as indie artist. But it will hard for them to comeback to mainstream industry again). And for Korea entertainment industry also have a dark secret too. Some of company make a dark contract with their artist, such as if they willing to "sell" themself to people in power (like, to get a sponsor by wealthy or people who have power) to make smooth their career, even there is some company or their manager forced labor underage idol to perform at night club illegally (and those kids even didnt get paid), or there is an idol who get beating up by their manager or CEO if they make a mistake (some entertainment company is owned by gangster, usually they will use brute force to mistreatment their own artist. The ironically, most of parents didnt know about that). And there is some ex-idol who really popular in 90's (now become one of popular singer n variety show host) only can speak up after 20 years after he get abused n almost get killed by his former CEO. Even after he quit from that company with not signing new contract, they try to ended his career n to try to silent him. There is lot of cases happened like that. It get known if the artist or idol finally gathered their courage to speak up n sue their label. But if the owner is people in power, it's really hard to sue them coz in the end, there is no justice for the victim. There is a cases some of actress (and she quite popular as a rising star at that time) take a suicide because she didnt get justice by court after she get "selling" by her company to 'accompanied' an important sponsors n get raped. But there is also a case where some artist or idol who betray their company because of their greed. So, an artist can find a good company also a company to find a good artist is like a rare opportunity in korea.

Guys you have Harvey Weinstein and Clive Davis to name but a few. The American contracts are the worst and it's not a secret, that's why everyone is on drugs. It's a good thing to aspire to be a good person and want to appear good as well. BTS have the best contracts in the biz. Their last contract ratios were 70:30. Who has that in the West?
