Dude, Martin O'Donnell went HARD on this track. God damn, that piano had to be set on fire if he played it that well. Easily one of my favorite missions in this campaign
I remember when I first played this when I think I was 10, the "TWO SCARABS, I REPEAT, TWO SCARABS" was absolutely terrifying to me because of how hard I thought the first scarab fight was. My 10 year old mind was in fact, in overdrive
Honestly, this makes me feel so lucky to be alive in this time on Earth right now. To be able to experience this masterpiece of a game as Marty goes INSANE on the score... It's truly amazing.
This is what 343 need to replicate, this feeling that you are in an actual warzone, it’s not only you as Master Chief, there is a whole human army backing you up. And even though they are scared, they look up to you and help you with amazing dialogue. They got it right in Halo 4 when you save the marines and they just can’t believe the master chief is alive. In Halo wars 2 the marines are fighting alongside red team. But somehow they missed it on Halo 5 and in a Infinite you are basically alone saving a few marines with very little dialogue. There no big war mission
When I did this mission I was very stupid. Since I didn’t know you could shoot the scarab with the hornet here’s what I did: 1: grab hornet. 2: jump out of hornet and land on scarab. 3: kill scarab enemies and then the shield with a plasma grenade. 4: jump out of scarab. 5: steal the warthog while trying not to get stepped on. 6: use warthog to jump the kill onto the next scarab. 7: time my dismount so I’d land in the scarab. 8: eliminate enemies and plasma grenade the engine again. This took me roughly an hour,. I really wish I knew back then thst you could just shoot the legs, then the back.
There is no wrong way to fight this section. Bungie gave us the tools to do the job however we wanted Edit: Siege of Madrigal easter egg has to play at the end for the ambience
No, what you did was the correct way to do it. This was the epic way to do it. This is why you look for a video about that scene years later. (PS. I did it that way too)
Yeah i played it with my friends, but the problem is that in 4 players it really is super easy to beat them both even in legendary… so it’s good but they should’ve added some kind of legendary +2 to make it more enjoyable. You know 2 hornets, two players go on one scarab the other 2 on the other one and they’re gone in 3 minutes more or less, you just need to drop on em
Halo 3 was so cinematic. You’re driving a heavy tank, flying a hornet, fighting 2 Scarabs, with the USNC and Sangheili support, all whilst that epic ass music is playing… Just… *PERFECTION*
If there's one thing I remember from this mission, it's the following: My brother used to beat Scarabs the traditional way, how it's shown in this video. But I would crash the ship into the Scarab, I would get off, and after that I would explode it from the inside, I liked to do it the badass way lmao
Cuando me lo pase en legendario descubrí que si te subes de pasajero en la nave te deja en buena altura para que caigas encima del scra ya una vez que explota regresa por ti para que hagas lo mismo con el otro
Damn im stuck. I got one scarab down. But i end up losing the hornet since i jump out of it on the scarab then im fkd trying to take down the second one
There is a better method if you’re playing on legendary. You can take the hornet and get it directly on top of one of the scarabs. Don’t land on it, maintain some height and drop on the scarab. Make sure the hornet drops on the ground so you can use it later (there’s no other way to fly if it’s destroyed). Carefully go on to the back of the scarab and destroy the core. As the red signal beeps, jump away, its gonna blow (you probably know that by now). Ride the hornet and repeat the same process.
I’d always take the mongoose so I’d have a rocket on the hornet and if I had a friend for coop we’d do drive bys on one and have each other jump off and take it over lol
