Ikr?! I'm not used to hearing them play seriously, but when they do, I am always surprised how good they are xD But then I forget they've been playing for like 20 years....
That's not something you find, it's a connection you made between the other person and you. You have to work in it and it will maybe never reach absolute perfection, but there will be a point where you understand what do you want to do with the piece and how would do the other person. When you can understand each other's thoughts without need to talking, then you can considere you both duet soulmates.
2 Planks and 2 Wheels Eddy has perfect pitch so he would know if this out of tune, and they both tune violins before performances, so your statement is complete false. Either that or they played out of tune on purpose.
2 Planks and 2 Wheels Um in one of their videos it shows eddy showing off his perfect pitch, him showing what hz the notes were. He knows what the notes sound and knows when people play out do tune. In manny of his videos, he reacts to people on shows playing out of tune, showing that he indeed does know what notes out of tune look like.
@@awe331 Also with violin duets, being in tune with each other is actually more important than being in tune in tune. So they are together, but there are brief moments of disparacy in intonation, which is 100% completely normal for a live performance. 2.43 is a moment where those disparacies can be heard. I still think they did an incredible job and are incredible Violinists, and work amazingly as a duet.
I saw them smiling at each other in this piece and instantly fall in love with both of them. The chemistry they have is precious. And I know it's because they mess up but it's still precious. **Edit: typos. Idk what I was typing it was midnight lmao. And thanks for 1K likes!
Zofia Alisha I know what they mean, I also never forget but sometimes when they’re all jokey and meme-y their musical talent is kinda in the background and then I watch something like this and my brain goes BOOM wow 😳
No joke, this is one of the best recordings of this piece on RU-vid Not only do they have intonation, great tone quality that is consistent throughout the piece, but the thing that strikes me as the best part of listening to these two play this piece, is that they blend their sound so well! I know that they’re playing different notes, but it doesn’t sound like that! Perfect harmony!
It is indeed amazing, but if you want an even better performance they have of that piece, check out the video from their show in LA in 2018, the sound is better and the performance even more beautiful
Watching Brett and Eddy's performance brings so much joy to me. I smiled through the whole performance. They have so much chemistry together! Thanks for posting this performance really appreciated it.
I just don't understand why I'm sitting here, grinning as a proud mom eventhough I'm younger than them. Breathtaking and lovely performance. Being funny is one thing but I think I like their serious playing more 🙂
I love how when the pianist (he is younger probably not as professional as TwoSet) loses control for a short time (like he can't keep up sometimes) Eddie does like a little metronome by going up and down on the beat so the pianist can get together again. That's nice of Eddie.
I can't even imagine how hard this is. Beyond the technicality of the individual parts, it's getting the intonation, the articulation, everything to meld together exactly. There's absolutely nowhere to hide. It's definitely not a piece that could be played by two soloists. These two have really made it their own. Incredible.
Leah C I know, right? For me, the part that makes this recording my favorite, is how well Brett and Eddy blend their sound. I know that they’re playing different notes, but it doesn’t sound like they are! It’s perfect harmony!
Finally I can see them playing a piece completely with a serious manner 😍😍😍 this might be too much of hope, but I wish they could upload duet pieces like this in their channel... maybe once a month? 😜 Btw, the pianist in this video is also awesome!
yes please! they should record some complete pieces. as much as i love their compilations and 10 levels of ... videos, i would prefer to see them perform pieces (and not only snippets) seriously once in a while..
RU-vid has been on point with their recommendations lately especially this one. I get to see Brett and Eddy playing this beautiful piece together seriously but still having fun with it
I couldn't sleep as I was stressing about my exam the next day. Then I see this video in my recommendations. i couldn't stop smiling the whole time. For some reason this was so calming. Now I listen to this whenever I'm stressed out or unhappy. Thank you Brett and Eddy.🖤🖤
They're so humble and professional. Cause we dont need to brag and obnoxious on how good we are on an instrument that we play. Its not a competition but love of music.
Eddy seems to be a much more emotional player than Brett. He expresses the music with his body and it looks like he can barely contain himself at times. Brett is less expressive, but no less talented. They are a really enjoyable duo to listen to and watch. As others have said, full of the joy of the music.
Eddy certainly expresses more through his own movement, while Brett moves less. I think that they both have pretty much the same level of musical expression, though Eddy definitely has more physical expression with his movements. It may also be because Eddy is first violin and moves to cue in Brett, who has to keep a close eye on Eddy to stay together. (Many times you see Eddy stepping away or closing his eyes with the music, while Brett still has to watch him closely.)
the other week i was watching their video on difficulty levels of duets and i instantly fell in love with this piece and had a strong need to see them perform the whole thing. just now the piece came up on spotify and i was like "actually i wanna watch a performance of this, not just listen to it" so i put it in the youtube search bar and let me tell you the moment i saw that a video of brett and eddy playing the whole thing existed was one of the happiest moments of my life thank you thank you thank you ♥
I love their little smiles, including the pianist’s smiles too. I wish I had someone like how Brett and Eddy have each other to play duets like this with.
Simply beautiful. Their amazing friendship and dedication to their art allows them to deliver a world class performance. This recording is one of my all time favorite recordings, and I'm not even a violinist. Love these goofballs for all the times they make me laugh and inspire me. I love them even more when they play seriously. Their music and videos are a gift to us all.❤
Oh wow, Kristi, you took the words right out of my mouth. I'm no musician either but hey, musicians need appreciators like us and these two have such chemistry between them, it blows me away. So glad I found them...
This duet is truly amazing. When i keep my eyes open, it only sounds nice but if i close them, the feeling is completely different. I can feel my body tensed up, my heart tightened and my entire left arm feels numb. The piece suddenly sounds much clearer and oh, so beautiful.
Me too. I'm either crying because I know I cam never be as good as them, or I can see the fact that they're enjoying playing professionally and that makes me so happy.
I'm shocked there aren't more people back here after their virtual world tour to compare their performances. Even to my plebeian ears, their sound has changed a great deal.
They played this a day after Liszt's Birthday, a day before mine. It was uploaded a day after my birthday and two days before Paganini's!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
It doesn't make sense. If they played it a day before your birthday and it was uploaded a day after it, there should be a 2 day gap between the performance and the upload which is not the case. There is only 1 day gap.
Shit that's beautiful. I've given up piano for yrs, twoset kinda lead me back to my childhood and I'm back to appreciate classic music once again, dude that's definitely beautiful.
just watching this makes me dizzy! I've been playing instruments since I was six years old, but I never stuck with one for longer than 6 years. But when I was 19 I started playing the violin and I am still happily going to lessons in my 7th year now! And there's still so much to learn! So glad I found their channel last year and thanks for sharing this performance with us!!!
So well played. Better than the one I saw from Heifetz school. Which both violinists were out of tune against each other.people may thought if I play in tune then it is ok, but in a duet, they need to be in perfect thirds etc with each other. Our friends here played very well, exciting , passionate, in tune, and looked at each other. They well deserved the million subscribers.
came here cause my orchestra played this in carnegie hall about 2 years ago was curious to see if brett & eddy played it, and vóilá here it is!!! beautifully done !! made me cry a little lol
Intonation, tone quality, and blending is all present here and beautiful. This is one of my favorite violin pieces played by two of my favorite violinists. ^^
I really don't care how exquisite and utterly brilliant you can play this gorgeous piece, because I can't love you more than I already do. I'm just a simple man, with zero musical training, who came to adore classical music just because of you guys. Viva TwoSet Violin !
I searched «Navarra ' Pablo de Sarasate», and i feel so surprising and very happy to see Twoset video on the list. Now, it's my favorite version of this beautiful piece.
I saw them playing this live yesterday, its now 6 years later and it is amazing. Like they sounds fantastic here online, but after 6 years of practice they did it even better now. It's breathtaking❤😊
After watching 10 levels of difficulty on violin, this piece rings in my head and I can't help but to go back to their version of it! Their level of synchronization and chemistry is next level. Feeling so much love from their playing 💓sweeeeet
I smiled through this whole performance. I have little to jo idea about classical music but even I can tell that they are really good at what they’re doing. With their playing and the joyous friendship they bring me peace and joy. Thank you for uploading :)
