As much as 1 state solution sounds great aren't there several problems she ignores. 1) younger palestinians don't want 1 state with Israelis, they want 1 state and the Israelis to leave 2) the palestinians are muslim, most versions of their religion hate Jews, the arab muslims most of all but the whole muslim world do and they will have influence in the new state 3) the last time jews christians and muslims lived in one polity before zionism (under the ottomans ) the Muslims oppressed the others. The jews were also oppressed as 2nd class citizens in almost all other muslim countries, and 700,000 were displaced to Israel in 48 4) middle east is a culture of revenge, now that the Israelis have oppressed the Palestinians, they will do revenge once they have demographic majoirty inside one state 5. I think the best solution is remove settlements, pay reperation to palestinians, 2 state confederation with a single military. Make Israel the Jewish homeland as a matter of demographic majority but except for that, full legal, linguistic, and religious equality for others living there, and special rules to protect that equality.

ISRAEL BELONGS TO THE JEWISH PEOPLE :A common misperception is that the Jews were forced into the diaspora by the Romans after the destruction of the Second Temple in Jerusalem in the year 70 A.D. and then, 1,800 years later, suddenly returned to Palestine demanding their country back. In reality, the Jewish people have maintained ties to their historic homeland for more than 3,700 years. A national language and a distinct civilization have been maintained.The Jewish people base their claim to the land of Israel on at least four premises: 1) God promised the land to the patriarch Abraham; 2) the Jewish people settled and developed the land; 3) the international community granted political sovereignty in Palestine to the Jewish people and 4) the territory was captured in defensive wars.The term "Palestine" is believed to be derived from the Philistines, an Aegean people who, in the 12th Century B.C., settled along the Mediterranean coastal plain of what is now Israel and the Gaza Strip. In the second century A.D., after crushing the last Jewish revolt, the Romans first applied the name Palaestina to Judea (the southern portion of what is now called the West Bank) in an attempt to minimize Jewish identification with the land of Israel. The Arabic word "Filastin" is derived from this Latin name.The Twelve Tribes of Israel formed the first constitutional monarchy in Palestine about 1000 B.C. The second king, David, first made Jerusalem the nation's capital. Although eventually Palestine was split into two separate kingdoms, Jewish independence there lasted for 212 years. This is almost as long as Americans have enjoyed independence in what has become known as the United States.Even after the destruction of the Second Temple in Jerusalem and the beginning of the exile, Jewish life in Palestine continued and often flourished. Large communities were reestablished in Jerusalem and Tiberias by the ninth century. In the 11th century, Jewish communities grew in Rafah, Gaza, Ashkelon, Jaffa and Caesarea.(www.jewishvirtuallibrary.org/jsource/History/The_Jewish_Claim_To_The_Land_Of_Israel.html)

Mr. David Jesus Saves, who say these lands belong to the Jewish People. Who told all the Jewish people to leave these lands. Palestine was derived from the Philistines, I have not read that in the BiBle. What resources do you attributed that to. My question to you, why did the Jewish moved out of these lands. What took the Jewish so long to get back to these lands You says that Americans have enjoyed their independence of their lands. Second question, do you know how the United States acquire their lands in America. You do not know that? How did they? Do do you know from the Bible, there is no difference between Jewish and Gentile people ,now? It is stated in the the New Testament, Do you know that? I believe you need to up date your data and information to make it true. I believe you need to read the total Bible and comprehend the real purpose of the Bible. How do these communities flourished as you stated. What do you mean by flourished? Is it something good or bad? Have a nice day.

The territory for another Arab state in Israel would be unnatural. It's logical that it will not be fully independent (as she already mentioned with the military part). A simple look at the two state map shows what kind of a twisted idea it would be. I see no problem for Israel keeping Judea and Samaria, and receive back Gaza. Israel proved over and over again that it's a democratic country that protects human rights and respects freedom. In a short period of time, it turned from a developing country to a developed one.
@EternalNetzah

***** 1. Israel has two official languages: Hebrew and Arabic. 2. Citizens of Arab decent are as equal as any citizen. 3. Since they are equal as every citizen, they enjoy freedom and have their rights protected just like any citizen. 4. Arabs will usually receive more support due being a minority (Free housing, more time in exams, no need to go to the army and etc) 5. If you are a son to parents who lived in Israel before it's establishment, and denied citizenship, you have the chance to receive at the age of 18 that citizenship and not suffer your parent's decision.

***** Nope, we are defiantly discussing Jordanians. That are the people you talk about, not Israeli Arabs. You cannot have "Palestinians", since there was never a country called "Palestine". Thus, "Palestinians" would refer to what it was called during British mandate. Defiantly not the same version as these Jordanians try to claim and create a new fake identity. Jordan was also the first attempt for a 2 states for 2 people, which people forgot so now Arabs keep cutting the cake in their favor. We might also call them Syrians, as majority of them decent from there.

***** That question you should ask the person. Does he identify more with his citizenship? Does he identify with the country where his parents came from and their (relatively short) history there? Does he identify with this Indian heritage? If he's a normal person, he will identify with all of it. He'll identify as British, and he now builds his history there. He'll identify as a Pakistanis, as that's where he came from (His children however won't), and he'll identify with his Indian heritage as it's also his history and culture. I really doubt that if you ask him, he's going to create a new Identity called "Everest" and declare that his "Everest" people are getting killed, and that they need to create a country in Britain called "Everestina" with it's capital being London.

They are not as equal as any other Israeli citizen. Or Commission stated otherwise back in 03, and journalists have pointed out that the discrimination has not improved since. While that happens anywhere, don't take it further by acting like they get even more support because they are minorities. Their communities are underfunded in proportion to the taxes they pay, their schools are eligible for less funding than Jewish schools (including the haredi ones which don't even teach secular subjects), they have trouble getting permits to build or do repairs etc. And there didn't need to be a sovereign Palestinian state for there to be a Palestinian people. They only need to identify themselves as a nation - which they do - who have a common heritage - which they do. A nation is nothing more than an arbitrary social construct which is not dependent on sovereignty. And the majority of them do not come from Syria. That nationalist propaganda on which Joan Peters based her pile of crap book was never taken seriously outside of some echo chambers.

The amount of nonsense in this speach is amazing. her conclusion is correct, a tow-state solution is impossible, but not for the reasons that she listed. The land of israel belongs to the jewish pepole, and I am not relying on the bible (eventhough I am religus and belive in the bible). The question that we need to answer is this: is occupying a land from an other people by force gives the occupyer a right to own the occupyed land? however, the answer to this question is actualy irrelevant, because if you say that it does, then israel occupyed the land and has the right to it. And if it is not, the land should be returned to the people that can prove the most ancient ownership of the land, and that people is the jewish people, because the people that were here before us have disappeared a long time ago, and we don't know who their descendants are. therefore, a state for both the palestinians and the jews is completely immposible, not to mention unfair, because none of the tow partys in the conflict will accept it. and should not accept it either.
