I was the Base Fire Chief at NKP RTAFB, Thailand in 1972 when the Town of Sa Koona corn of 100,000 people was on fire . I volunteered my Fire Dept. of US Air Force Fighters to save lives and property ! I took 2, 1500 Gal Water Tankers with 4 of my best Firefighters ! We got there at one AM. We fought our way in through thousands of people trying to get away from the conflagration ! We met up with the Police Thai Chief. He sent us into the bad fires ... and told me to save as people as possible. We worked for over 48 hours..... refilling our Trucks from the Klongs with portable Pumps ! After over 3 days my Firefighters did as much as we could ! After it was all over.... we went back to NKP ! We never got one thank you ..... It was like it never happened ! I blame it on me for never being my troops for not getting the awards they deserved ! I should have told my CE and Wing CC what happened. But the Vietnam war in 1972 was escalating to little things like this.. were only foot notes in history !

Finally found this masterpiece.

I remember listening to this while playing BF3, I was on Wake Island with a friend of mine and we were flying the transport heli. I was the gunner and we were providing excellent air support. Enemies on the ground were dropping like flies and any rockets that came at us my friend dodged. We finally got shot down but continued on foot and captured the base. It was an awesome moment.
