Two unbelievable sheepdogs working sheep in Scotland

There's something so soothing about sheepdogs working in the beautiful Scottish countryside.

Your whistle has got all the way to New Zealand. My Border Collie gave an intense gaze to my phone.

Before the dogs start their job, they can hardly contain themselves with excitement & enthusiasm waiting for your command. You & the dogs are wonderful. I had 2 border collies once. I figure herding dogs who are able to do exactly what they were bred for and are so loved and well taken care of are probably the happiest dogs on the planet. And that makes me happy.

In my humble opinion, there is nothing more beautiful than sheep dogs working at the hands of a loving shepherd. Since I was a girl of seven years, when I got to see sheep worked in New Zealand, I have loved nothing more. I taught myself to spin, weave, knit and crochet. I owned a small flock of 4 ewes and had a boarder collie that needed no training. She just naturally did what I thought in my mind for her to do. This was the best time of my life. You are very blessed, Sean.

Awesome to watch these dogs do what they were bred to do. I'm especially impressed with their ability to work with each other and work to your whistle. You can see the satisfaction in their faces when you call them "Up" at the end!

So obvious how much these dogs love their job. They are just quivering with anticipation of that first chase. Love seeing intelligent well trained dogs doing their job.

I love sheep dogs. I would never have one. I worked in an office my entire life, and always lived in the city. I am glad that their skills are appreciated. This is where they need to be.

When I was a kid, my dad was a herder for a large sheep ranch, over 5000 head. Dad would herd about 2500 in high mountains of Oregon Eagle caps with his 2 horses and 2 dogs. He controlled dogs with whistles and code words. The dogs loved working. Good memories

It's so interesting to watch you work with the dogs. They know the meaning of so many commands.

My house is being built so we are in an apartment. I take my Border/Aussie out and work with her the first couple times there were a couple people out on their deck watching. Now that it’s getting nice a lot of people have their doors open. This last time as we were walking out there all I heard were people saying the guy with the cattle dog is going out there. Come here you gotta see this. When you have really good dogs you can take it for granted sometimes just how good they are.

Growing up in Arizona, we always had Australian Shepherds from my parents' best friends who are cattle ranches in the White Mountains. My dad was a doctor but we always had our own cattle and sheep, and our dogs would bring them in for their vet visits and if we were having a monsoon. We only had a few acres but it made the process a lot easier. Now I'm old and in California. No more cattle or sheep for me, but we've rescued corgis. We always bring them to the herding events. It's one of the best ways to help restore what has been taken from them through abuse and neglect. This was just beautiful to watch in every way. Happy man, beautiful countryside, wonderful dogs, well cared for livestock. To the ones who say they would trade lives with you, that's a big ask. You don't have a timeclock and you are on call for your animals 24 hours a day, rain or shine, sun or snow. I know I couldn't do your job and my hat is off to you.

Don't ever let your government erase the wonderful things people like you have created.

Beautiful dogs. Spent many summers in Ireland at a sheep farm in Enniscorthy, Co. Wexford, near my grandmother’s house. We weren’t allowed play with or pet the lovely sheep dogs, but snuck a few in anyway. Brings back happy memories. We used to watch the shepherds dip the sheep in a huge trough of tarry liquid.
