Spent two weeks up in NJ @ Fort Dix for annual training with my reserve unit.
We stayed at the AirForce barracks so they were very nice as you'll see in the opener.
the time went by really fast but some of the highlights were the storm that passed by and knocked out a ton of trees and actually this storm affected a large portion of homes I think the number was about 25k homes.
So yea we went without power for about 3 days, it wasnt terrible we resorted to eating some good ole MRE's
We finished up the weekend with the commander cup competition in which my company didnt fare so well ... but hey there's always next year right?!
Enjoy the video and I'll catch you guys next week when Chris comes by for the weekend - I've got a lot of stuff planned.

I went to fort Dix in 1988 for basic training, fort dix was the Army’s version of Paris island , and it was not a good time 👍

There is no better feeling in the world than walking onto and around a military installation. You go from the civilian world shit show to a place that is well maintained and people are respectful and polite. It takes a huge weight off my shoulders when I go on base.

Your billeting was a lot nicer than when I had to spend two weeks at Ft. Dix. I had 7 other roommates.

So you were actually at Maguire instead of Dix? My BCT barracks were right across from the end of the flight line.

I spent two weeks at Ft Dix in November 1962 in an overseas shipping company. I was on the way to an 18 month tour of duty in Ankara Turkey. Ft Dix was a good place to pass through. Just kidding. The only thing I did not like about Dix was having to pull several days of guard duty in about two foot of snow, but other than that it was OK.
