Always love watching your videos. That's really interesting i don't think i can get behind being a market maker but a storefront sounds interesting !! thanks for the info!
Of course!! I appreciate you being here. Selling things in a store seems to be far less stressful but it does take away from the social interactions. So I still plan to do markets here and there !
Hi! New sub here! I'm so happy this video came into my feed :) I'm currently working on my first order for a local shop in my town and I feel like a total noob lol! I would definitely watch if you continue to make videos like this one! It's been hard to find good content that isn't about selling crochet in markets. I think many new artisans and crafters struggle with the business end of things, but shine in the creative end of things ... or maybe it's just me 😅
The speed I'm working on my Diddy Dex currently, it would have to cost 150$, not 15 😂 But at least now I feel motivated to finish it today after work 😊 So cool how you made that opportunity for yourself! I bet those store owners are glad too, seeing how well you're selling. Yes to the future videos updating us, hope it continues to go well ❤
The first time I made it it took me a little bit especially because it’s in UK terms it took my brain a little bit to thinking about it. But since then I’ve made a few and I can speed through them in less than an hour ! I am a fast crocheter though I think which has come with lots of time and practice. Just enjoy the ride and the rest will follow ! Appreciate you being here 🫶🏽
@@MJAlleywayCrochet Wow, that is so fast! I keep getting stuck on sewing, especially the wings, but it's good practice - in my defense I only started learning how to crochet in February. Hopefully I have some nice long years ahead of me to catch up though 😂 see you in the next video :)
I'd like to hear how things progress. I sell in 2 stores. It's great to have money coming in year round. But I have had to cut down markets. Can't keep up with everything!
Oh for sure !! When I was in the other store I didn’t do markets at all for a while because I was struggling to keep up. It helped when I raised my prices a little to kinda slow things down a bit but it’s all about balance!
yes i iwould absolutely love to know how to get into a store. there are a lot of self owned stores around here. my neighbor has one but she wants to charge 20mpercent and she is never there.i gave her three bundles of wash cloths for 12 a set of four and they never sold and i never heard anything about them after that. si i have no clue lol. i think i could make some money with my plushies around here because people do buy them when i have markets. What kinds of stores do you recommend?
Funky shops with heavy foot traffic. They’ll likely all take a commission. I haven’t come across one that didn’t. The one I’m at now takes commission and booth fee but the commission is less than what it was at the old store. The only store the commission was 26% but I just added that to the sale price and my stuff would sell out nearly every weekend. It depends on the area you’re in and if the store has heavy traffic or not. This store doesn’t have nearly the same traffic as the one in Mississippi but it’s still a frequently visited place
I just sell a couple patterns on my Etsy and plushies in person at markets and at local store. I don’t sell physical plushies online since the market is so saturated I am too lazy and unmotivated to make the listings lol
