In the early days when SHINee would promote their latest comeback on music shows they would make a bet with fans that if they were to win that day they would do some sort of challenge during the encore stage at the end of the show. It gave everyone something to look forward to and motivated fans to do all they could to make sure SHINee won so that we could see what kind of antics they would get into at the end. So that part where you saw Jonghyun doing the push ups was during one of their winning "Dream Girl" encore stages in 2013, where the members said they would do 100 push ups during their encore stage if they won. Normally they would divide the number of push ups between all of them, but often it ended up being Minho and Jonghyun that did most of them. And not only was Jonghyun doing the push ups with Taemin being a brat trying to make it even harder for him by sitting on him, but Jonghyun would still always sing his parts of the song while he was doing the push ups. There also are clips of Key getting lipstick put on his face by the other members during one of their "Everybody" encore stages because the bet for that week was that if they won, whomever lost the rock, paper, scissors battle would have to let the other members draw on their face. Normally everyone who performed that week would gather on stage at the end to find out who won, so all the other people on the stage where the hosts and the other idols and groups who were going up against SHINee. So in the middle of the crowded stage, when most groups would have just stood there and sang their song one more time, SHINee became a circus act. Everyone there had a front row seat to watch SHINee being ridiculous, while also proving why they were so good and why everyone admired and respected them, etc. No other group can pull off an encore stage like SHINee. Just another thing that makes SHINee unique and unlike any other. They never take themselves too seriously.

This is SHINee. They've never cared what others thought. They've never put on a false front. They've been honest about when they fought in the early days. They don't worry about how they act on stage -- it's usually a free for all, especially during their epically ferocious water and cake battles. They're very open about showing brotherly affection to each other. They're always candid on interviews, painfully so sometimes. SM never had a chance of controlling them so they eventually gave up and just embraced the chaos. This is partly why SHINee was always chosen as the first guests of most new variety shows. If the hosts/show could survive SHINee, then they had a shot at surviving in the industry. As you get further into your SHINee journey, you will definitely see the profound difference between them and 3rd-4th generation groups. SHINee is family, and they make no bones about it. It is a very well-known and lauded fact across company lines within the Kpop industry.

Jonghyun is such a loving and selfless person.

Yeah SHINee! The is a 3rd part of this, about Taemin point of view , I will request it later. Just you know: -Jonghyun & Key are very emotional. -Taemin and Minho don't like to show emotions and hide sad feelings ( even though seems like 2017 they have mellowed down a little) -Onew is in the Middle...he does not want to show it... but some times he just can help it. Their relationship and bond was so special. It warms and breaks my heart every time I watch these compilations. I hope you get the chance to watch the other one called "Taemin loves Jonghyun hyung" too because it shows the reverse and how much Taemin adored and looked up to him.

Thank you for reacting to this. They were indeed very very close. When you go down deep in to SHINee music you will notice that Taemin indeed some times sounds exactly like Jonghyun, Taemin was coached by him( and Onew) since SM before had no interest in developing Taemin voice,he learned from the BEST!. Today Onew and Taemin cover must of Jonghyun parts... ( but they try to distributed between the 4), and in some songs is just imposible so the audio have his original voice. we can see why their biológical moms are friends as well. Jonghyun was a really warm person! , but he was as well very direct with words on what he thinks and believes. He was a great support for ALL the members ... but specially for Onew and Taemin , this 2 took it the hardest. Hope you keep reacting to more SHINee, their relationship, funny moments and music. You will be deep in love in no time.

In Taemin's case, he wasn't able to actually get vocal lessons before his debut because he was 14 when he debuted and had just gone through puberty, which meant that his voice was changing and was too vulnerable for regular vocal sessions and practice, at the time.

We could not ask for a better mentor for Taemin than Jonghyun. I'm sure others have noticed too... I tend to feel that Jjong sings the kind of songs that Taemin would sing and vice versa. They can swap songs and still sound like themselves. Our brat is returning to us soon!! Just a little over 2 months, right on time for SHINee's 15th anniversary!

Well, I'm back and I'm so glad that you enjoyed Jongtae, watching them always warms my heart. Minho is president of SHINee world, but Jonghyun is the eternal president of Taemin's fan club. Also, Key is known for being the best when learning their choreo, but Jonghyun is clearly the best when it comes to Taemin's choreo😆.

I have been waiting for this reaction all week, thank you. Onew as well as Jonghyun was Taemin’s vocal trainer and he also went with Jonghyun to Taemin first solo concert in Japan ❤. SHINee members are indeed a beautiful family.

This is why I became a shawol a year ago after first finding Jonghyun and through him Shinee - it wasn't their insane level of talent that turned me into an actual honest-to-god *fan*, it was the character of all five members, their honest and humble attitudes, and the obvious connection between them, the love they clearly have for each other, the way they support each other, the fun they have together... So glad you posted this, hope you do more!

Whoa, I can't watch this yet, but I want to say thank you, and it's great that you'll get to know Jonghyun better. This will be a treat for later, when my chores are done😆.

I dont think there is any personal space in SHINee ( pretty sure they agree on it lol) . They are extreamly close ,touchy and know each other very well. Key once said that he know what bother minho the most... so he does it even more! Lol. And when Key was doing his service, Taemin decided to celebrate his birthday... went to Key House uninvited ( I think they all have access to each other house in case of emergency), left a cake on the frige and stole some clothes...., Key only noticed cuz Taemin posted it on instagram .. and people started to tag him on it..... he was shocked lol... "Yah!! TAEMIN!!" , LOL they are funny and cute and the same time... love their relationship. No matter how old Taemin gets He will always be SHINee baby.

shinee love each other soooooooo much, but taemin is 100% their baby, even though he's now 30 lmao. there are examples of all this type of taemin-pandering behaviour for every member. you should watch shinee loving and supporting taemin for 7 minutes straight. or key is taemin's mom. not many other groups have a bond as strong as shinee. you were right when you said, they're a family 💕
