"Indian" and "Pakistani" themselves are not that representative of the populations of the respective countries if you think about it... Just look at the states and provinces of India and Pakistan.... There are people from the gangatic plains, people from the Himalayas, pashtoons, Bengalis, Tamils....etc.... I can see the problem western media is propagated but the thing is that in literature they still call it indian subcontinent and on ground level south asian people like me still stay together its not make us lose our identity but instead it unites us brown people here so i dont think this thing it should be a major problem but still western media intentionally doesn't promote indian identity which should be a problem instead saying south asia is bad

This is not correct, calling it Indian sub continent will not be accepted by Indian neighbours and western countries will have to create two sepaarte names for them, so south asia is perfect name until India gets right or might over its neighbours.
