This is the most transparent view of what kind of money you can make on RU-vid and what kind of effort is involved to get there. Love the DIY videos, they provide a ton of insperation. Love it when you show off other DIY'ers builds, the creativity is so helpful when building out gym equipment. Always love review's of equipment, never know what I can add to my gym. I like the reaction videos you've done because it exposes me to a wide(r) variety of ideas on different DIY approaches to equipment. A regular long form video would only show me one way, whereas the reaction vids show off 20+, and from there I can determine which one I like best and drill down from there

I too appreciate this video. I am often times struggling with motivation and pressure due to feeling like I have to regularly upload. Tha last videos I made are the one's that popped off a bit more than usual and that motivated me - but at the same time I really feel the pressure of delievering something. And again there is also the problem that video where you put tons of work in just not seem interesting for others. I wish you the best of luck for the rest of your youtube journey!
Right. Too long between videos and the algorithm seems to punish you, so there’s always that pressure to keep creating with very little pay off. I definitely think it is worth diversifying income streams if that’s possible. Thank you for the support and I wish you RU-vid success as well!
Thanks for the feedback. It’s just hard to justify spending 40 hours a week on something that pays $200-300 a month. It’s either ads or find another way to pay the bills. As I mentioned, that’s just a piece of the pie. If the other avenues become more lucrative ads will be a lower priority.
Killing it. I've really enjoyed seeing you branch out. The video's are very interesting (especially the community reviews because you get more examples and the do's and don'ts). Yeah, I really enjoy the community videos as well. Many of the people I showcase are friends of mine from over the years, but I am also finding new people as well. Trolls are gonna troll. The best I can do is not let it get to me. As long as the majority of the comments are positive, I’m happy to just keep making videos

I appreciate it. Unfortunately dealing with trolls is just the cost of doing business. The positive comments outweigh the negative comments by a large margin. I am extremely grateful for all of the support I receive. I’ll keep doing this stuff as long as people want to watch. A tattoo video might be interesting.

I know! Ads are lame. I’ve basically been doing all this work for free for the last two years while my wife pays the bills. It’s not a sustainable business model (or marriage model).

Not an editor but wish I could help make diy gym content. Super interesting for people that are self reliant, don't like spending money, are handy, want the best equipment, and have the mind frame of I can do that I just need to figure out a way. Maybe as you scale up. No doubt you will. 👍
I did have someone reach out and offer to edit. We're working on the first video now. If this works out it'll definitely help me be more productive with my time.
