I got mine yesterday and I am very happy. One thing I found out is very interesting. I watched many videos about the Tudor BB 58 and I thought about to buy it too. Then I realised, because the BB 58 has the same size as the Baltic and because I watched many nice close up shots of the BB 58 on a big computer screen I got over the time A WRONG PERCEPTION how the watch really looks like on the wrist. So, I took some wrist shot pictures from the Internet, both from the Baltic and Tudor BB, brought it to the correct size right next to each other. Once I saw the Tudor in its correct size on the screen next to my Baltic I realised how small the watch is in reality and although a nice watch and totally different than the Baltic IMO not worth to spend 4000€.

One piece of information I can't seem to get is the weight of the watch head. I'm very weight sensitive when it comes to watches, so that piece of information is pretty crucial for me.

It's really nice. The only reason I don't want it is because the crystal looks so reflective. I need a watch I can actually read.

I am eyeing this aquascaph so much, and loving your videos. It is giving me the urge to buy one lol but we don't have the expertise to regulate the movement.. that is the unfortunate reality. What do you think?

You should check out the wise it’s alil more modern but has a little vintage inspiration I’d say particularly the brown and the bronze versions

Great review! Do you get much rotor noise? I find that my Lorier, also sporting a Miyota makes quite a loud and unpleasant rotor noise, which can be easily heard in a quiet room or even when driving a car.

Great review! I am thinking of getting this watch and, after hearing what you mentioned about its unregulated movement right out of the box, I have the following question: what kind of watchmaker should I look for to regulate it and how much is the average cost of having it regulated? (I’m already thinking ahead, as you can see.)
@SillyVintageWatches
@SillyVintageWatches Год назад
A good indication for a watchmaker is if they sell actual mechanical watches. Watch shops in Malls have typically not a watchmaker at hand. At best, they can change your battery. I would just flat out ask the watch shop if they can do it. You can also ask them if they have a telegrapher. If not, run :-) A relatively rough Adjustment like with these kinds of watches should not take more than a few days and coast not more than 50 bucks.

Gorgeous watch, planning to get one. Thanks for the review. Quick question, does it come with removable spring bars to use with a NATO strap? Or did you have to buy some separately? It looks like the quick release bars are built into the bracelet and so can't be removed
@SillyVintageWatches
@SillyVintageWatches 2 года назад
If you buy the watch on the steel bracelet, you need extra spring bars for a NATO, that's correct. I bought the watch on the tropic rubber and therefor didn't have to do that.

I plan to use this in the water a lot in Hawaii. Have you been regularly using this watch diving or swimming in pool, lakes, oceans? Thanks for your review!
@SillyVintageWatches
@SillyVintageWatches 2 года назад
Hi, yes I was wearing the watch at the beach swimming pretty much the entire summer of 2021. My recommendation is to establish a routine with yourself where you check the crown each time you dive into the water and to rinse the watch in fresh water every time you used it in the sea or in a pool. Other than that, I have no concerns. You can also have the watch checked for water tightness once a year at a watch shop. Should not take longer than 10 minutes and most of the time costs next to nothing. Have Fun!

The watch looks amazing but can someone please explain why you would choose a $600 watch which you then need to get professionally fixed so that the time is not out? Thinking about getting this watch but I am curious?
@SillyVintageWatches
@SillyVintageWatches 11 месяцев назад
Fair enough, but what I would also consider is something like the opposite of the survivor bias effect. You have now heard about the slight issue that I had with my watch and feel discouraged, but what is the context? My watch might have been just the one watch out of 500 delivered that needed work. A watch is a very individual and technical product, so issues have to be expected from time to time, but they are the exception.
