The cobra would need a good 100rwhp to pull a vette at high speed, it'll also need the stickiest fattest tires to plant that kind of power, because of the weight distribution difference.

I love how everyone is saying this and that about how it wasnt a fair race. If it wasnt a fair race the owners of the cars wouldnt have raced. Simple as that. Common sense no longer exists
wow you must of watched the video.... the cobra pulled away until the turbos spooled. put twins on the mustang and i bet it would of been a little different
That Corvette is a small block. It was running 8 lbs of boost less than the Mustang and was on pump gas/meth vs. C16. What the hell wasn't fair about these races? That's probably a 700 horse or thereabouts Mustang vs. 800 horse or thereabouts Corvette. Decent race from all standpoints.
Boost is boost genius. The Cobra would still have to run way more boost than the Vette just to keep up. And if he put huge twins on it to create more volume and not need as much boost he would have ridiculous lag. Twin turbos do not magically make something faster. The Cobra would still be in the same situation of losing, unless he ran ridiculously high boost. Which would still be sad since the vette can kick it's ass on almost half of the boost the cobra is using.
Yeah boost is boost but the vette has a bigger motor and is using meth. Turbos are better at high rpms then a supercharger so the vette has better use of power in a high speed race. And the cobra is only running 7-8psi more then the vette so it's not like he is running high boost. They are both fast cars but the vette has more power and is lighter then the cobra.
its a 4.6l(281)supercharged to a 402 TT theres no comparison. apples to oranges. small block to big block. mustang probably arond 500-550 hp and the corvette probably 800. if you want to compare a corvette to something do it to a gt 500 or a ford gt.
I don't know it might just be me, but corvette needs a driver mod. Since I am not in the corvette its harder to tell what's going on but the Mustang did very well and i believe had a better driver. Corvettes are fast that's why it "won" but give the mustang its credit still way faster then my car. I like them both.
