OK, my bad! I didn't perform the format option, said yes this time and the update worked perfectly. Thanks for being the only location I could find showing how to update the firmware on this device. Cheers Nigel

thanks for sharing:) as long as your wifi connetion have 802.11a or AC in its protocol, you can change to 5ghz. but does your tanix tx6s did not get slow. its way off with loading times
I followed your instructions, but now it is stuck on Boot mode and I can't think how to get past this. The on screen just shows the four colored symbols. I've tried the rest switch but no luck. Any ideas?
Hi box king. nice video from Tx6S. also I bought it on Geekbuying - 4GB-32GB- it came today, and I ask you: your video (and firmware (mediafire) is to 4GB/32GB or 2GB/16GB..? because be related problems wifi 5GHZ band on Tx6s with 2/16Gb mems. As the manual that comes has very few info, and it refer to update the Box "copy OTA zip file into TF card or USB (pen) by inserting the stick in the Reset button or (I ask) can updated through the Icon's "Local UpDate" APP. This APP automatically updates the box (Update from Tanix factory ) or did as it comes in the Manual we had to download the ZIP file to put in the TF Card or i must use the PhoenixSuit on win7 PC and Zip IMG file on TFcard. as you do???. Your IMG file is the TX6S-4G-20200220 . Did you know if has (somewhere) a file date more recently.. to 4/32GB?? tks bro
