Greetings everyone!!! Please Comment below the songs I'm missing so you guys can pinpoint much easier on your favorite song will be doing a timestamp on the video.
This is greatest audio and video quality I ever seen or heard blessings to the camera man Pv good job on getting the band in the stands properly this band has improved tremendously TSU execution is phenomenal them mellos tuba and them b tones sound so damn good I got TXSU for the dub that 1st song txsu played I was like lawdddd @kbthabandhead you gotta see this fam
PV y’all sound really good them horns are hitting 🥁🎺🎷🎺🎷💪🏽🦊Foxes know your music and hit them beats…move as one✌️ y’all look good, now let’s be great🔥🔥🔥
Some of these comments are very critical and unnecessary, like who you like but dam, you swear they were in a competition, they both did a Great job, these students work very hard to put on a show and entertain the crowd but not to be judged so harshly, these comments won't change one single thing and I doubt if Brian Simmons or Dr. Zachary give a dam about these comments so whats the point of even going thru all of that negative Simon Cowell foolishness. Kudos to both teams.
As A Texan I Always Valued Both! Only Both Bands Can Do Sum Neither One Can Do. Like I said earlier Two Different Sounds Creativity And Diversity! It’s Always Good To Know Both Bring Some Heat And Progress More During The Season Together. These Rivalry’s Imo makes all HBCU bands bring a lil more in the HBCU Band Culture. I agree with everything you saying but band-heads going to be band heads In The Band Community.
I think both bands did ok. Txsu really good . But hbcu band is definitely a competition. If they can’t handle it they shouldn’t have joined or decided to direct. And the criticism was actually a lot worse years ago. Hbcu bands are cutthroat, its a battle not a showcase
Im an ocean alum and i have to say that pv trimmin away that extra fat they had was the best decision in the right direction they’ve done in the last few seasons
@@malkieljudah2073 They tubas sound way better than their previous years. Them boys used to have bout 30 tubas and wasn't hitting on nothing. Here, they actually hawking.
I think this is an acquired taste. True the old arrangement and execution was powerful, but remember, txsu was bigger that year and had tons of experienced upperclassmen to carry that sound for 2006. This arrangement is cleaner and more controlled. This version of the ocean has some talented freshmen and experienced upperclassmen but lacking in numbers to carry that aggressive sound. If they continue to polish the band this year, then this could actually be on par with that 2006 rendition. Give them time.
@@malkieljudah2073 are you forgetting that Valley didn’t have the same hurdles as TxSU? How many director changes took place between the firing of TxSU’s old bd? Gib gave txsu its sound from 2004-2019. Now you’re expecting these kids that grew up listening to that era of Txsu to adjust their way of thinking and playing in under 3 years when that’s the txsu they grew up loving. Did you not expect some of those current students to drop band all together because of the change? Did you not expect potential students to change their mind about attending because most people labeled this era of txsu “baby southern?” I’m not sure if you really care or if you’re just another Txsu trasher, but I actually marched under Gibson. This type of restructuring takes time. In 2021 it was a culture shock for those students. Listen to how their quality fluctuated that entire season. 2022…they sounded better. But were missing their own sound. They were cleaned up by parade season Now here we are…2023. They have the sound, they have some size, and yet again someone is expecting a 200 piece band overnight.
No they not Kentucky state is small as shat now one of their main arrangers left and went to Albany State. Txsu and Ksu already battled at mardi gras in 2018
Why yawl keep wanting TxSU vs KSU. TxSU would kill KSU yawl need to stop TxSU already proven that they can top the bigger bands like SU and JSU Norfolk TSU. Some of these bands just not on the Ocean level.
I don’t think valley ready to be embarrassed by a 160 piece band yet. Valley has a lot of work omg just horn holders. I’m pretty sure TxSU is tired of battling Langston. The Ocean tops them every time 🤷🏾♂️ and they have a problem with it for some reason. Langston is another band that has a lot to work on. They had a hood field show at the Pepsi. It wasn’t enough to top the Ocean but the Pride had a good dancing block.
Ewwww Txsu Tubas What Was that @3:47 I Hear A lot Of Missed Notes From Texas Southern In This Zero And Pv Trumpets Getting Swallowed By The Upper and Lower Brass On Certain Arrangements But They Over There Yamming On Texas Southern This Is Hard To Call! Both Had they Ups N Downs But What I Loved The Most Is The Diversity And Creativity In Both Arrangements! My Opinion May Be Biases But I’m Going With Pv By A Hair Bit A Pinch. I Heard Grambling Too And They Sound Like Whole Different Gsu With Smaller Numbers! But What I’m Loving Is Prairie View Is That Are Still Keeping Their Identity N Still Bringing Smoke With Texas Southern!
@@mzwilliams3093 naw lt didn’t I’ll give credit where it’s do if they were clean they would have won it but because they sounded a little off I gave this zero to Pv imo!
Pv mellos and trumpets , this battle really depended on y’all. I love y’all arr of who what when and where. But we need y’all a tad bit more aggressive (upperbrass)
@@reppintime3890it's close. Last year SU had the best trumpets and Txsu the best mellos. It's the same this year even though you can actually hear SU mellos this year.
Not even close huh 😂😂😂😂Well if SU do it’s just because of the sections is bigger than TxSU. SU real good but they going to have a problem with TxSU this fall AGAIN.
That’s funny, because I actually watched the video and heard only one bad song from TxSU. But PV…. 1st song 7:56-8:05 Trombones out of tune 2nd song 11:06-11:36 Tempo issues at the start. Some sections barely knew the song until the tuba break 3rd song Lol. No time stamps needed. 4th song Ofcourse they would only play good on the crunk song. Just sad. Young musicians that don’t take their craft seriously. 5th song 29:22 Student arranger got more engagement from the band than the actual band director.
@@BlackAnt27 bro yappin just to yap how you take points off for them bein crunk and getting engagement from a student arranger ofc they would its someone their age making music☠☠and the 2nd song wasn't tempo issues bro heard the slightest thing and had to say somethin like it effect the whole song
@@jaredhagger7074 not yapping to yap my friend. The original commenter was obviously being biased without actually watching the video in its entirety. I can definitely give back points for the last 2 songs. But I won’t give them back for the tempo on the 2nd song. That’s where I draw the line.
