That's why he said "when I was 16" he was referring to his Korean age Everyone in Korean is at least one or two years older than their international age. It’s part of the Chinese calendar. When you are born you are automatically 1 year old instead of 0 and everyone turns older on the new year which is in February in Asia and you turn another year older on your birthday. So Kai turned 16 on his last birthday and 17 this new year and he’ll turn 18 this years birthday. Same with Soobin, he turned 19 his birthday and he turned 20 on the new year and this year he’ll turn 21 his birthday. Most countries in Asia like Korea, Vietnam, China and Japan, go by this age system.
